Pouncey Calls out Harrison

I doubt the Pouncey brothers still think Hernandez is innocent. Pretty sure they threw those hats out when their boy was convicted.

Just imagine the reaction on this board if Harrison actually contributed on defense this season...

Why are they burning jerseys? Wtf?!!!

I get he plays for the enemy, but c'mon people!!!

This is just pure raw emotion coming out. Remember all those jersey burnings after the kneel down thing?
If Harrison hasn't really practiced all year, and played less, just how productive does anyone think he'll be?

I can't imagine Peezy letting Harrison sleep in a recliner while he was trying to run a meeting. Even if 1/3 of the stuff was true James needed to go. The other part I don't get is why did Tomlin let the crap go on ? Fine the guy ?, Do something ?

Now we have all the little brothers telling on him. There is little control or discipline surrounding this team.

Well...this changes the narrative for many fans.

Why? Throwing an all time great Steeler under the bus just because the team cut him and he wasn't happy?

If he was such a Steeler at heart then he would have done the right thing to begin with and helped groom TJ to be even better than he was. Not sit here and complain about your lack of playing time at almost 40 years old. They signed him before the draft and didn’t know they would draft him and play at such a high level. Besides he doesn’t even play special teams. He got what he wished for. I’m grateful for all he’s done for the Steelers and will never forget him in a positive light but it’s just a shame he had to go out like this and sign with that team.

This is the root of the whole thing. The Steelers didn't know who would be on the board when they picked. If a stud corner had fallen to them, maybe they pick him instead of TJ. Then you need Harrison to play a lot of snaps. Once TJ showed he was ready, it's hard to take him off the field.

Maybe Tomlin was trying to give Deebo the benefit of the doubt since is a vet with a long rope and he hung himself too many times. Blount was released the day after he left the game early. If Deebo did that in Indy and pulled other crap that is coming out, then Tomlin and Co tried to deal with him until they couldn't any longer. The relationship was severed and the split is best for both parties. Pouncey, Dupree and Chickillo are about the team, not one player. Isn't that how it should be? Harrison was about himself and was selfish. I want guys on the team to make the team better and the players around them, not a distraction.

How do you know he wasn't fined? This was really a no win situation for the team. If they fine or suspend him, folks are still on here bitching about him being "disrespected". If you're running the team, you can't get sentimental about old players. Chuck Noll got sentimental about LC Greenwood, and it cost him Dwaine Board, a very good player at a position of need that could have helped us during the 80s.

either all this is 100% true or this will be the single greatest trolling in the sordid history of trolling.

My guess is Harrison was as disgusted with this coaching staff as Big Ben is with Haley. He was most likely vocal about it in the locker room. The **** show at the end of the Pats game was probably the straw that broke the camels back. Dupree, Pouncey and Gilbert probably just trying to stay in Tomlins good graces.
This rings true. The Tomlin way doesn't suit some players. I think Troy struggled with that same thing. Here is an old article that speaks to it. Troy stayed quiet on this so not many sources - http://steelcityblitz.com/source-polamalu-issues-tomlin/

source familiar with the Polamalu situation told me that the future Hall of Fame safety grew more and more upset with Head Coach Mike Tomlin and most of it centered around players brought in and attitudes that were tolerated.

Besides being fed up a few years ago with the “Young Money Crew,” Polamalu struggled to gain a rapport with new secondary mate Mike Mitchell. Polamalu was reportedly upset about Mitchell’s playing style and lack of focus.

You believe Jarvis Dupree? and "Aaron Hernandez Is Innocent" Pouncey?

ha ha

cherry pick my ***

Ben has more class than the entire Steelers organization

go burn your jerseys you Tomlin humping yinzers - this is all HIS fault, obviously

Ben doesnt like to air team laundry. With the exception of alluding to his relationship with Haley. Im glad he doesn't.
The things Pouncey and Dupree are talking about are not really open to interpretation. If those things didnt happen there would be other players or coaches that step in to his defense. Chickillo and Dupree are linebackers. Mitchell is defense. Defense knows what happens more within their unit.

What the hell could Porter do? He's tough, but James would whip his *** in a NY minute. Perhaps Porter complained to Tomlin.

Well clearly not in this situation. I agree he has not held back in his own situations or things that effect him. But pretty clearly Charles he would know if Harrison was causing problems on the team. Missing meetings. Falling asleep in meetings, leaving games, not visiting Shazier, these are not open to interpretation. They are lies?

coaches and players literally fighting can't be good. Can't have the inmates fighting with the therapists.

Well, he wanted out and he got it. **** em, he's the enemy now.

Business decision my ***. This guy was set on retiring three years ago. Now? Hope Ju Ju lays his *** out.

If you let a guy sleep through meetings, leave early, don't show up. You are sending a message by taking no action. No action lengthens the rope everyone "thinks" they have. There is a line and from the whining, Harrison must have crossed it long ago. He should have been dealt with sooner. If they had fined him, it most likely would have leaked. Actions speak louder than words. When a malcontent behaves disrespectfully you remove them. You disrespect a coach by sleeping in a meeting. You get a warning. Do it again and further action is taken. There has to be a level of discipline in any organization to keep structure and set parameters.

Sentimental, not as these stories have come out. Harrison became a poor teammate and he should have be gone sooner.

i believe the more telling is that Deebo was not even claimed by LeBeau in Tennessee. They're facing a must-win vs Jacksonville. Deebo knows LeBeau's defense the way a lot of posters here know the palm of their dominant hand. Wonder why LeBeau didn't have Mularkey put in a claim on Deebo.

Can anyone remember a player creating such a shitstorm in their wake in recent memory? Where players openly mocked and derided a former teammate? I know Blount stirred up some ****, but nothing on this level. Man, it's like the team needed to open a can of collective whoopass on Deebo, to let their feelings be known and set the record straight. Reading through the players comments, there is tangible vitriol and anger at the way James handled his business. The most troubling thing to me - besides his ******-up attitude with TJ and Dupree - was how cold-hearted he acted regarding Shazier. That's some below the belt ****, to turn your back on a teammate - one of the standout leaders on D - facing a possible career ending injury. The fact Deebo couldn't be bothered to reach out or visit Shazier is what really put this over the top, in my book.

The real tragedy in all this is I didnt see any Pats fans burning any Ridley jerseys when he came here...and Frenchy Touissant still has a job

to be honest Tibs, it was stated he didn't want to go with the team to visit Shazier. It didn't say if he went on his own. Just saying. Before I chastise him for that, I would like to hear if he has reached out to him at all. Saying that, players can have a weird way of dealing with horrific injuries to other players/friends. I'm not giving him a pass, but I would like to hear the full story before casting him as a cold, heartless SOB.

The reporter who originally tweeted that Dupree said James didn't go see Shazier now says that Dupree said that James didn't go with the linebackers as a group not that he didn't go at all.

yea, Ridley is the all-time rushi. . .um, he was the . . he was on his couch when the Steelers called him. Hardly the same legacy and impact player. No comparison.

What exactly is your agenda here Spike. Are you trying to be ironic or annoying or what. Burn jerseys. Whatever. It is childish. But you really can't compare the stories. People feel pretty betrayed by this story. Or at bare minimum like me pretty dissapointed. I mean I gave him a lot of rope when he was released. I didnt blame him for going there. But the revelations about his behaviour on this team create quite another picture. Steven Ridley was released because he fumbles which really concerns me. Pretty sure no one has a Ridley jersey there. If Gronk pulled the **** James did you can damn well bet there would be fan backlash over there.

Fair enough, let's give Deebo a pass on the Shazier situation until further notice. There's plenty of other bullshit he was doing. At this stage it doesn't matter really. He is gone. He is a Patriot, a sworn enemy. What's done is done. He can work on piecing together his Steelers legacy over the years to come, if he even cares about that.
