Pouncey Calls out Harrison

The truth I'm guessing is somewhere between his version and theirs. If they signed him saying "You'll have mostly a mentoring role" then fine, he has nothing to complain about. According to him they kept telling him he was going to play. Now, the other side of that is no one is guaranteed playing time, you have to earn it. I tell my 14 year son that all the time. But if he thinks he can play elsewhere and the Steelers weren't going to play him, I can hardly call that "selfish". Not everyone is cut out for a mentoring role.

Anyway, he's not trashing the team, the front office and coaching staff aren't trashing him, sounds like it was mostly an amicable split so why these guys feel the need to go out and stir up **** with the media I have no idea. If I fault Tomlin for anything it's this kind of bullshit that he hasn't been able to get under control.

no no the truth is as the players presented it

majority gets the nod

might be a hard pill to swallow for his faithful

but it is there for all to see

That secrets he can reveal nonsense is overblown too though. We just played them, they have film of everything we do, including finally playing the WR's at the line which worked on them. He doesn't know anything they don't already know. As for what he was promised? Unless one of us sat in that meeting and heard them say "Hey James, we know you're unemployed and want to keep playing. How about you sign with us, and we will run you out there whether we have better players or not mkay? And as far as practice and meetings go? You can skip that **** for all your years of loyal service." LOL. He's gone, and I'm good with it. He can take a loss with the rest of those cheating ******** if we happen to meet in the playoffs.

Have we ever had a team with this much behind the scenes and public drama? Seems like Tomlin has no control of the team culture whatsoever. If what they are saying is true Harrison should have been gone a long time ago.

Yep, that Tomlin ... He has no control of the team. I mean, like a runaway freight train, this team just steamed it's way to 12-3 with no guidance. smh

Yeah, except he sounds like a whiny ***** airing all that out. Talk about it after the season if you want to but no one but Bud is talking about that to reporters.
Pouncey spoke a little on it but didn't go into this great details. Bud sounds like his feelings are hurt because James didn't mentor him.

Actually, Bud, Pouncey, Chick, Mitchell and every report/story has said more in the locker room. They just didn't quote them all. Bud's been the most outspoken. Probably because they play the same position and he was able to see/experience more ... like Harrison missing meetings and sleeping/snoring through those he did attend.

Yeah and there are other guys who won't say a word about it. Who cares? I don't think Dupree sounds that way at all and I appreciate hearing his take. I'd love to know what Watt thinks about Harrison snoring in the recliner during position meetings. What are your thoughts on Harrison going to such lengths to get released from the team? IMO, that is much worse than a young player sharing his thoughts about a guy who was expected to be a leader.

Yeah and now he's bringing out that he didn't visit Shazier in the hospital... if true, that is strange but come on Bud, you sound really butt hurt over this.

It’s all just bulletin board material. Hope it’s doesn’t bite us like when Flowers guaranteed a win.

Yes, this is what's going to motivate the Patriots to beat the Steelers because a trip to the Super Bowl isn't enough. Who knows if these two teams will even meet again?

I imagine that I'd probably lay it on too if I had to hear for the first 3 years of my career how Deebo was a leader and a mentor to me and I had to eat that **** for the sake of the team. And then I'm given a chance to tell the truth? ****, I'm telling it all ... including how I saw Debo kick a puppy and steal a toddler's ice cream cone on the way into the facility one time.

LOL.....You seemed hurt that the truth is actually out now. Maybe your image in the past is what you want to remember. I will go with what the players are saying. Pouncey is a leader on this team and has been very vocal about it. Dupree probably seen more of the **** Harrison was doing personally. They all most likely wanted him gone long before this. And I thought Bryant's stunt earlier was bad.

IMO, I think they should have released him early in the year when he requested it. They weren't going to play him so why allow him to be a distraction through out the year.
I don't like that James was doing that stuff, never thought he would skip meetings and things.. selfish to say the least.
At the end of the day, this whole thing sucks. I guess I like hearing football talk, but this season has been filled with garbage drama.

Seems like Tomlin has no control of the team culture whatsoever.
That sentiment is getting so old and so tired. This team has proven all season they are focused and able to win football games. That's all that matters. And they've done so withstanding major injuries to Shazier and AB (and Gilbert). For you to sit there and type that Tomlin has 'no control of the team culture' is inflamatory and a strawman argument if I've ever seen one. Have you watched any player interviews this year? Do you have any sense how collected this team is right now? A player that's been considered one of the all time greats leaves in a cloud of dust and posts a picture of him and Tom ******* Brady from the Pats lockerroom? Fans pouting and grumbling about Tomlin and the Steelers FO letting him go and you expect them to stay silent? The testimony coming out of the Steelers locker room seems to be a collective sigh of relief Harrison is gone. Pouncey, Dupree, Gilbert and other spoke from the heart. Sometimes it's a healthy thing to get the truth out. That truth may be uncomfortable for some, but it's still the truth. Your statement is simply a cop-out, to say Tomlin has no control of 'team culture.' Just the opposite, this is 'team culture'. Players speaking from their hearts. I'll take that over whatever you thought you wanted to hear or whatever would have made you more comfortable.

Kind of makes you wonder if maybe Bryant wasn't seeing the **** Deebo was pulling and decided that he'd try that approach too.

An @NFL player can collect "Termination Pay” once in his career. TP means a player who has 4+ years of service AND is released after Week 1 gets his guaranteed salary from the team who cut him - plus his new salary. James Harrison, I was told, will collect two salaries now.

10:45 AM - 28 Dec 2017

So not only did we cut him but we will be paying him if we play the Patriots in the post season.

Why are you making this a thing...?????? It's the way of the CBA and besides Harrison isn't making much to begin with. His MELCONTENT was costing WAY more than what his salary was worth. KAPISH????

Eh, whatever.

I'm not going to ignore years of contributions because of how he reacted to a one season situation that sucked for him too.

Bellichick signed him for one reason only and that's to get into the heads of the team, fans and coaching staff and cause a huge distraction. Looks like that's working out exactly according to plan.

FAN's head,..............not the players or the team

As a fan, I wanted to see him run out of the tunnel last and wished they would have played him the 25 percent of the snaps they apparently promised him. It unfortunately didn't work out. Rather than act like a clown, he should have stuck it out this year. Imagine you're TJ Watt, hear about the great James Harrison and are excited to learn from one of the great pass rushers of this generation. Instead, you see him snoring during a position meeting. What a joke that had to be. It completely sucks how it played out, but the Steelers have been fine this year with Martavis Bryant wanting out, Ben feuding with Haley, the Bell holdout, numerous injuries, a PED suspension, and the unfortunate injury to Ryan Shazier. No doubt they will be fine with this whole situation. As far as talking football, go for it, but if you look at the topics on the board, this type of drama drives conversation. Even when you try to talk football, people are too busy picking fights with each other, whining about the doom and gloom, or calling out Coach. I'm with you, let's engage in football talk. I know I'm pumped about the potential matchups in the playoffs and getting a bye week for the first time in quite awhile. It's going to be a fun few weeks.

And just maybe that adds to the list of things they want to beat the pats for, if they should meet in the playoffs.

Little but of anger might not be bad for motivation.

And yes the players on both sides will be motivated.

But there is a reason both sides of most teams say nice warm cuddly things about each other pre-game.

Because a little anger can be just what the Dr. ordered if tunneled correctly.

Not the ice cream cone! Cruel

Reading both sides.
Clearly evident Harrison was unhappy.
Cannot blame him, he hopes his services are needed elsewhere.

Hoodie took advantage of a fanbase that's ticked off already.
Create a rift within the fans and media and hopes it trickles into the team.

******* genius!

Again....I can blame him...as a player on a team he did the one the you don't do. Also I'm pretty sure Belicheat did not have us fans(and media) in mind when signing Harrison.

The team could give a damn less how pissed the fans are. Tell me how anything said in here or anywhere else by a fan has ever decided a game? Harrison was an *** who wanted his release and he got it. That asshat is a cheater, not a genius.

Translation - If I can;t spew the same tired hate at Tomlin and fault him on every subject, I have no real response.

Turn the record over dude, we get it.

I ever said I hate Tomlin? I think most will agree you have the absolute WRONG guy here. lmao.

Now if you said "HALEY" ... yeah.
