The truth I'm guessing is somewhere between his version and theirs. If they signed him saying "You'll have mostly a mentoring role" then fine, he has nothing to complain about. According to him they kept telling him he was going to play. Now, the other side of that is no one is guaranteed playing time, you have to earn it. I tell my 14 year son that all the time. But if he thinks he can play elsewhere and the Steelers weren't going to play him, I can hardly call that "selfish". Not everyone is cut out for a mentoring role.
Anyway, he's not trashing the team, the front office and coaching staff aren't trashing him, sounds like it was mostly an amicable split so why these guys feel the need to go out and stir up **** with the media I have no idea. If I fault Tomlin for anything it's this kind of bullshit that he hasn't been able to get under control.
