He's an upside guy to give depth at d-line.
Agreed, I hope we add another DB here, I like the kid from Ole Miss. With some decent safeties on the board, they knew one of them would fall to their second 6 round pick. I expect Harris, Prewitt, or Holliman
Would think an offensive lineman might be worth a shot here. Depth at OT after the top-3?
I'd take La'el Collins now - if we go O line...what could it hurt???
Yeah, this is about that spot where it may be worth the risk. If he checks out with the police interview monday, AND you can talk him off the ledge, you just grabbed a top 20 player at the end of the sixth round. If he can't clear his name, you lost a comp pick, the type that usually ends up on the practice squad or just can't make the team anyway. If there's any team that may convince Collins to strap em up and get his career going - even with all the disasppoinment he's faced - you'd think it would be the Steelers.I'd take La'el Collins now - if we go O line...what could it hurt???
He already said through his agent he refuses to sign with any team that drafts him below the 3rd round... he will re-enter the draft next year (unless he is in prison, I guess)
From what I understand about the draft, that is false. He's is not supplemental draft eligible, so his rights go to which ever team drafts him. I'm not sure how long that lasts, I suppose at least a year, but when the Raiders drafted Rocket Ismail out of college and he went to the CFL, they had his drafted rights in the NFL, so when he came back to the NFL, he had to go to the raiders. Anyone else have insight on this?
Somebody give me the number to the War Room, please. I need to talk to Coach Tomlin...
That's absolutely correct. And why I made the suggestion...

No one even knows how big the pick for the Packers is....
S/OL/RB still likely
