Does Tomlin throw his alma mater a bone and pick Tre McBride here?
 
Nice pick this late in the draft. I had him going in the 4th.

Eh Chickillo is a career underachiever IMO... skills, not sure he uses them all the time... also Chick killer would be a better last name on the raiders or Ravens
 
Not a fan of Chickillo. Didn't like his tape and don't see a fit anywhere on our team.

To date I am ok with this draft, I don't think its an all timer or anything, but what looks like a solid first rounder, two guys in the biggest position of need in the mid rounds, some good value gambles late, and one pick to go...

He was turned down for this years supplemental draft, but there is a CBA clause that allows a player who is drafted and doesn't play football anywhere for a season to re-enter the draft the next year... it was the threat that some top overall picks used to force trades such as Elway in the past

And if he is not drafted, he becomes a free agent. And not eligible for 2016 draft. he should want to get drafted.
 
Man I loved Porter's presser. If that doesn't get you amped, nothing will. Great depth in the room both at inside and now outside LB. Guys will be scratching and clawing to make the team and for PT. Same thing with the CB's. I absolutely love what we've done in this draft, added serious talent to this Defense!!!

He loves Chickillo said he will figure out if he likes right or left side, will definitely play OLB. Loves his motor and ability to get after QB. They won't have him in space covering guys, just rushing the passer...

Deebo will probably play 20-25 snaps a game...and he's ok with that. Also has high hopes for Jarvis, getting stronger this off season...putting in the work...

U fans do not see a fit with us either. Thing is I know they have a lot of talent that wasn't used right and drafted so others see the potential. One of those situations where the coach is looked at to be clueless (by their fans)

Doesn't have to mean too much of anything. But if someone wasn't used right in college they could emerge as a steal.

I asked about him before the draft though and they told me they thought he would be a better fit in the 4/3.


But a late look I am not sweating it regardless.

weird, most of the scouting reports I see say he is no good at rushing the passer, but as a run stopper he is solid

Yes Porter mentioned that Miami used him one way, but they (Steelers) were projecting him playing a different style, as an edge rusher...
 
So its the 7th round... they can pick anything here and I wont be all that upset. id like a RB or a DB. Id be least happy with a WR TE or LB
 
Matius, K. White or any safety prospect will make me happy here...although McBride wouldn't surprise me either.

Why wouldn't they let the W&M guy go undrafted and then sign him tonight?
