Official Day Three Draft Thread - May 2nd 2015

I wonder if Steely McBeam will announce our draft pick.........

I still want that dude from marshall later if he is there... but they ought to grab a TE and a RB as well

It would have been awesome to have Pittsburgh Dad announce the pick.......

Doran Grant is a good pick at this point of the draft.

This for sure is an endorsement of the Mitchell-Thomas pairing at safety, they seem to be comfortable with that. They've now added two solid corners to the mix, I like it!

I'm okay with Grant in the 4th round.

Again... I wonder if in the long run if we had gotten P. J. Williams in round 2 and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu in round 4, would that have been better?

I'd be fine getting Ekpre-Olomu in the 5th if he's there. We need a lot of help at CB lol

one character concerns the other injury concern

I am happy with who they picked

Im not sure there is a big difference between grant and IEO... as for PJW that will depend if Golson's skills translate or not. There was a risk with both

Grant is much more of a traditional steelers CB. Honestly for the most part when our secondary has been the best, it has had a makeup very similar to what it looks like they are gunning for.

Del, man, I just don't understand your view on this. PJ Williams, he doesn't make turnovers. The Steelers need turnovers. Desperately. It looks like they got two guys who make a few. I am tired of guys who look good in the uniform, look like players but just end up chasing the receivers around the field. I don't know if either of these guys will be anything, or if PJ Williams will be, but I would rather start with guys who seem to be able to find the ball.

I would have loved James but Grant is a solid pick there and a bigger need. Great value for Grant who is more of an outside CB than Golson.

That probably closes the book on CB for this draft. Maybe they take a S, but i'm thinking not.

I think that's who they would target next what is a bigger need TE? RB?

Michael Bennett from OSU in 5, Gerod Hollman in 6a, 6B I would snag a TE, or Olamu if he is there.

I'd love a Safety. i just think they want to go with Shamarko and they like WIll Allen and Golden as backups. My guess is they only take a S if a highly rated one falls.

There really isn't a lot of proof that guys that make turnovers in college make them in the pros or vice versa.

P. J. Williams is an outside the numbers CB. He reminds me of a better Cortez Allen. Same skill set. Same negatives.

CB's that can play, are 6'-0" tall with length and change of direction skills dry up in drafts. Slot cornerbacks that make turnovers in college are everywhere.

We now have an OSU guy at all three levels of our D. LeBeau would be proud.

I'm surprised QB Brett Hundley has not been drafted.

Not many Safeties have been drafted. I know it's a weak class but there are good mid round prospects. A few years ago NFL teams wre fighting over safeties but it seems now they have put them on the back burner.

There goes famous Amos.... ;(

Bears got a steal with Adrian Amos. I have no idea why he lasted this long. He tested out as one of the most athletic Safety prospects and he has experience at CB and S.

What about a guy like Cody Prewitt? Kurtis Drummond is another guy that I like. People at MSU love the kid and rave about his abilities as a leader on the field. At the very least could provide good, young depth. Active in the running game and makes some instinctive plays in the passing game.
