Really solves the Boykin issue as apparently one leg was shorter than the other. (that's what she said).

Now onto the elephant in the room. No pop not your girlfriend. But why say anything about William Jackson the 3rd, how does that help the relationship between Burns and Lake ?

Did the Steelers not perform a physical on Boykin before acquiring him?

The second item isn't news at all. Everyone knew Jackson was at or near the top of their draft board, but apparently not high enough to make a move for him.

That is a very interesting question,

oh nevermind saw the DR's missed it....

or on senquez?

seems burns was thier clear cut back up, they could of traded out of the 1st and taken him at the top of rnd 2, but as soon as cincy took wj111 tomlin was already on the phone with burns, it barley took them 3-5 minutes to announce the pick. They really will need to adjust man coverage schemes to suit burns, and butler must reduce the cushion and let burns play press.

Courtney Brown was a bust taken before John Abraham who's in the 100 sack club.

Don't care about draft position. Don't care about who we "missed".

I care whether or not Artie Burns can help us win Super Bowls.

Exactly!

.

I guess my big question... is why the Eagles didn't disclose it. If it is found out that they were aware? Ruh-row.

Nope the Steelers give physicals immediately upon acquiring players. Our doctors either missed it or found it not important enough to void a trade/ Boykins played well and was never put on IR so there is no recourse for the Steelers.

I honestly don't know how big of a deal it was last season since he wasn't on the injury report and played quite a bit down the stretch.

Is it truly a degenerative condition or just one leg shorter than the other. One leg shorter than the other is actually relatively common and can be overcome. A degenerative condition, not so much.

Great, now we don't have to sit and wonder. I was thinking a hidden injury, not just physical but mental too. Good to know. How much did this cost us????

I think everyone with half a brain knew that WJIII was the pick but the bungholes snagged him. That's why in my mock along mock I wouldn't have panicked and would have took the donkeys trade.

LOL. Panicked......months of prep work and you think they panicked. Our front office must be the most inept group in the league in your eyes. Maybe they just went to their draft board and took their next guy there. Nah.....that couldn't be it.

dan should have the team docters looked into by a 3rd party.

This coming from the person whining that I make unsolicited ad hominem attacks. What total bull ****.

You can't even START a thread without trying to insult me. Don't cry when I figuratively knock your teeth out like chicklets. If this isn't a clear violation against board rules, what is?

What's up with your wife?

I'm not buying this.

If this was such a degenerative condition, why did we never hear him missing any practice time? Why was he never on any injury report. A LOT of people have one leg shorter than the other with no adverse conditions. The eye test said he could play.

When he finally did get in games, he did just fine. Where was his problem then?

Lake said, "He could hardly run???"

I never observed him having a problem running. He was always tight on his man, not limping around as Lake suggests.

This explains a lot. Maybe they realized how often he was using T just to be in game shape and actually paced him so that he would be available for the later part of the season? If he looked like garbage in practice because he was limping around the field, it explains why they decided to limit his playing time to save a round on the draft pick.

Or maybe the doctors gave a warning but were over ruled by Tomlin and Colbert.

I know nobody likes cliché answers and like to get the inside scoop and as it pertains to Boykin fine. I imagine that most knew WJ3 was their target however it isn't necessary to make that public. Puts Burns in a difficult position looking like sloppy seconds. Puts the brass in a bad position knowing most of us felt that it was a reach and they should have at least taken the deal the Seahawks got. Not smart by a guy who should know better than that.

a fifth round pick, which has like a 10% chance of panning out... not exactly expensive

I hear what you are saying, then couple it with his salary / sign bonus..............HOW much??

Just curious, what round did AB get drafted in?? Point being, you never know when one may come along. If Bykin's ailment truely was known and they chose to deal anyway, then so be it. EXPENSIVE or not, we will never know the true expense.
