Ju Ju signs with Steelers

Love to see a write up/evaluation of JuJu's season last year. How much of the drop off was from him with factors like separation, route running, drops, etc. How much of it was him not being targeted in favor of feeding the more drop prone Johnson who supposedly gets more separation and runs "pristine" routes? And, if Johnson ate into JuJu's targets, but had the highest drop percentage in the league, that's pretty damned stupid.

I think JuJu's drop off would be more accredited to Ben's forced short release time. JuJu isn't blazing out of the gate and probably well covered short route causing some of that force feed to "Mr.Dropsie". On Johnson's defense though he started and continued to work harder on NOT dropping the ball and it showed as his last 1/4 season was way improved. With the offensive line leaking drastically and such short time to throw or get killed I think BEN took first look way more often than he wanted to.

Revamped OL and new OC should change things up a lot, I'm hoping so.

I hope so, too, Notorious D-I-C.
If we get an improved O-Line, and HCMT actually let's Canada call plays and scheme...........?

then we would only need tomlin to also let butler call plays and scheme

HCMT let Fichtner call plays and scheme .... that was the damn problem. lol ... should have taken that **** away from Fichtner as soon as he decided to get away from the motion and Canada driven concepts that were working earlier in the season. It was obvious that Fichtner was moving away from what was working out of ego/fear for his job. It was also obvious that Fichtner was gone as soon as the season was over. So, it would have been smart for HCMT to have Canada start calling plays last season. We'd have half a season's worth of the Canada offense already installed and familiar to the players.
I put some of that on Rooney too; because of his mandate/reluctance to outright fire coordinators during the season. That said, Tomlin didn't have to fire Fichtner. He could have just stripped him of play calling duties.

His drops were examined by the board and they were of small percentage in comparison to the other WRs. His slot grabs and TDs tell me he can create separation. He will never be a burner which might be why fans want to throw him under a microscope. Poor JuJu, our O-Line is looking like dogshit but he receives the negative attention. I am more concerned with LT and C and CB.

I'm all for improvement and you have hit it square on the fact "HCMT actually lets Canada call plays & scheme". I think Tomlin won't be able to stop him as Canada's play calling is schemed from results of plays executing & reaction to so sort of a scheme on the fly sort of deal. I think SBWHCMVLT as or has been schooled enough to know what flow of the game actually is and thus will grant more freedom along the way.

Thank fedderone and keep on trucking or skateboarding or summersaulting or dart throwing or jogging or snowmobiling or boxing or reading or writing or R'thmatic or just being kewl beans.

JuJu and Washington were by far the most dependable receivers on the team last year.
Johnson and Ebron were terrible. Utterly terrible. Johnson improved somewhat as the year was winding down, but it was too little too late to make up for his horrific performance earlier in the season.

Ebron, well, ****. He just flat out sucked, pretty much in every aspect of the game. For a guy who was brought in to be "the guy", he basically just put the Steelers in a position to waste the last year of a better producing TE in McDonald.

I love Claypool. He truly flashed moments of brilliance, but as the year went on, he too began dropping more and more catchable balls. By the end of the season, I certainly didn't expect any miraculous things from Claypool. It seemed as though the 2nd year slump caught up to him around week 10.

While JuJu isn't particularly flashy, he does make plays he's supposed to make. Same with Washington. If you're in a deep hole on 3rd down, I personally wouldn't use Johnson or Ebron for anything but decoys. Course it doesn't help when the down and distance is 3rd and 11 and the Steelers dial up a 3 yard slant pass to the heavy side of the defense.

So just to be clear you see Juju as a slot guy. Not a number one guy in the 12 million plus per range. Cause I'm totally down with that. People are acting like he blessed the Steelers with 8 million 2021 salary. That's a good salary for a slot guy.
We both know that under 1000 yards last two seasons hurt his market value. And we both know injuries and a deep pass catching corps were a big part of that. But when you are talking 12 million plus long term in this market, excuses don't float the boat. If he had bigger numbers last year regardless of Covid, he probably is somewhere else.

JuJu can run all the routes as can most of our WR's. That is how they have been training and using them. But, JuJu was definitely the guy that would go get the short-yardage passes and get the hardnosed yards for a first down. He wasn't on the outside sprinting down the sidelines on most downs. He also didn't do that when AB was here. He'll catch a ball for a 1 yard first down. He'll catch a 20 yard out. He'll catch a 5 to 10-yard crossing pattern. And he'll catch a ball down the middle of the field. The dude runs every route on our route tree and blocks/hits like a freight train.

#1 in slot catches? Is that even a stat? I feel as though you are reaching here.

Who wrote that? Le'Veon Bell?

Snoopdog has been taking credit, the US Military has been using it in their "URBAN WARFAIR" videos, Bell is still smoking next to the TV blundts so we are left with our last known STEELERS rapper, Bell's older rap brother "tony" .! I know this may not appear to be "tony's" work but you 've got to remeber when You're being pounded in the aZZ side by side with t*mmyb*y by his wife and her dual service strap on, your creativity seems to waver (heard it from a friend, the creativity part) .

Ive never faulted a player for doing what makes them happiest in the long term...
On every pro team loyalty is limited from both the team and the player... they may indulge each other a little bit, but ultimately this is a business...
