James Harrison retires

Yeah....I figured the remaining prorated bonus escalated immediately after he was released. Harrison must have really forced the FO hand. Can’t fault a guy wanting to play, but seems ego got the best of reality.

Thanks for the memories James, but I'm a lot less saddened by this than I would have been without the nonsense last season. I really wish he wouldn't have done that

Yeah that really blew. All for 3 games and no participation trophy. It is what it is. That chapter is closed forever. The ending sucked, but the rest of the book was GREAT!

I'm mad at Harrison for not killing Brady.

Even as a Pat.

Especially with another player putting a hole in his hand. **** step up, take out a kidney or something.

He could have "accidentally" knocked Brady into next week at practice...and become a god to Steeler Nation.

I hate the way his career as a Steeler ended but that is not Harrison's fault IMO. Tomlin & the Steelers coaches told him he would be the guy. He's a competitor and all he wanted was a chance to compete and contribute. IMO the Steelers really never have him that chance his last season. I beleive Harrison when he said he asked for his release three times during the season and was denied.

Love him or hate him the guy will go down as one of the All-Time Steeler greats and without him and his INT in SB43 the Steelers loose that game. The guy is a LEGEND in SteelTown and don't let a few sour grapes when it comes to wanting to playout his career on the field and not off of it. It's that type of competitor that Harrison is that made him one of the Steeler greats!

Best Wishes in Retirement Deebo!

Yeah...I highly doubt that.

Pittsburgh hated Terry Bradshaw when he left too. And Alan Faneca... Folks will get over it. If it's a business, it's a business. Ultimately, it's possible Harrison believed the Steelers had no prayer in hell of advancing in the playoffs and he wasn't playing, so being a competitor - he wanted out.

Clearly Tomlin wasn't capable of getting the team past the 2nd round. He wasn't even IN that game.

Yeah...I highly doubt that.

Hell, Porter was on record for two years running saying he thought it was time for Deebo to be limited as far as playing time. Now, we all know Porter hasn't been a great OLB coach, but, he put the writing on the wall and all but pushed Harrison's head close enough to read it.

Pittsburgh STILL hates Terry Bradshaw. It's easy to hate a buffoon.

I didn't have a problem with him doing what he did, but he knew he was going to a team that was probably going to knock us out of the playoffs, so congrats on your career bud, but you get no ceremony here. He can put on a Patriots jersey and go retire up in Foxboro, if anybody up there gives a ****.

Who hated Faneca?

Who hated Faneca?

Faneca acted like a ***** on the way out.

Many fans didn't care for it, but I doubt anyone hated him.

With Deebo he left on worse conditions and went to a team a lot of Steelers fans hate like no other.

I seriously doubt a lot of fans will forget any time soon.

Personally I prefer to call it a dislike, instead of hate. Hate is such a strong word.

I have a problem with what he did. More so than the fact that he signed with the Pats. He was a locker room cancer on purpose. A shame.
