If you think Edmunds isn't a first rounder, you are wrong.

if you value Mike Mayock, Terrell Edmunds was not in top 100. Mike is saying he didn't think Edmunds was going in round 1, 2 or 3. If there are any mock draft on the web that had Terrell Edmunds going in round one, I never saw it.

Mike Mayock is pretty good, and being a former safety and DB, he's qualified.

This is only my opinion, but once Shazier was injured the defense took a tumble, so they looked for a player they could draft that could do similar things on 2nd and long or 3rd down. Vander Esch seemed to be that guy but he went before the Steelers picked. And I would have loved Smith, but he went early. Enter Terrell Edmunds. Maybe he's that guy, maybe he isn't The NFL needs Shazier like players.

I am most interested to see if the Steelers had any down trade offers.

And of course, it would be nice if the NFL published all draft boards, say 15 years later to see what other teams thought of him. I think there are enough football junkies out there that would like to get a look.
I agree with Coach
Another angle is WHO stopped the Steelers from going on to 2 Super bowls? Clue... he plays for the Cheats.... no, not Tom Brady.... but The GRONK ! I believe the Steelers see Terrell as their Anti-Gronk. So, Terrell has New nickname..... TAG ! TAG is short for The Anti-Gronk ! I like TAG already!

Yeah no ****, thanks to the braintrust known as tombert

Well I shared the video of the Steelers scouting process and how they build their board, so it isn't just Tomlin and Colbert. It's a consensus amongst the staff, once the board fills out it's a Steelers player as they stated. So it's the braintrust known as the Steelers organization, but sure keep lobbying blame at Tomlin and Colbert if that makes you feel better

Ratings today have a lot of players at A, A+, B B+ and us C+ another first round question mark possibly.

That is true. but lets add Mayock to the dozens of experts, X NFL GM's, X-NFL players, and media people who do this stuff for money. Did any of them think Terrell Edmunds was worth a first round pick? Not one man, but dozens. I did not see him mocked in round one anywhere....

When 30 or more people see it that way, it makes me worried.

How many mocks had Isaiah Wynn in the first round? Maybe the ones ignoring the mocks are the closest to actually knowing what they are doing.

Was he invited or was he just there with his brother as part of the family?

The man himself was just on NFL Radio on Sirius and said, "I was just here to support my brother. I wasn't invited. My brother got the invite. I was just as shocked as everyone else when my name was called."

Until he plays you have to hope they aren't completely stupid. Time will tell. The ones who aren't happy aren't any less entitled to their opinion, than the ones who trust everything the team does regardless of past outcomes.

I have no problem with pick and hope he does well obviously and do trust the Steelers FO and their process. They see something that fits their specific needs to help soften the loss of Shazier but I do think he could have been had with their #2 pick though.
They obviously have a plan in place so we shall see what happens tonight.

I like Edmunds he was on my board but not in first god no not in the first! if youre were going to gamble Oren burks would have been better he can track the tight ends of the league at least we seem to be blind to the fact that tight ends are killing us... Edmunds at 6’0 is no tight end killer he just isn’t... and at 215 is not the answer in the middle... a good free safety down the rd after being a special team star but no more than that.... hate to say it but this pick has the stink of disappointment on it

Was thinking your eval had a stink of disappointment, sorry sometimes I think out-loud..

Wow so much angst and worry. I understood with JJ because he had inherent medical issues and was not an athlete. This kid has all the physical gifts JJ did not have. I was as shocked as anybody but I like everything I have seen. A trade back might have been nice but it is not like they ran to the podium this year they did take some time maybe there weren’t any worthwhile offers.

The way I see it if this pick would have been Justin Reid, the board would have roundly applauded and praised the pick as perfect combination of BPA and need that came together like a fairly tale.

We would have praised our good fortune, patted ourselves - and the Steelers - on the back for a job well done, and moved onto the second round.

And all that happened differently was the Steelers had Terrell Edmunds ranked higher than any other safety - ahead of Reid, Harrison and everyone else - and they picked their man, the one they themselves were most confident in. And we sit back and question the pick, because we think they reached for Edmunds. It's funny how we react to these things as fans, really is.

And because he wasn't focused on he wasn't given a chance to be the more attractive pick.

I think Edmunds as you look closer becomes very attractive.

He was the 86th rated player on the big board - 3rd round.

Open your eyes, Colbert's defensive drafts have been a disaster lately - the next Shamarko?

Its funny. If anyone here mocked Terrell Edmunds in round one for us they would laugh. No one did, here or in the media.

I think he'll be all right, but I'm sure there were better safeties on the board, which hindsight will show. How many were better? We'll see. Reid_Bates_Harrison

Would have picked Reid. A side line to side line cover guy with really good ball skills.

I do think Edmunds will be a good TE cover backer, and a good in the box type. But in coverage vs NFL WR's...not exactly.

A top situational football player.
