There were only 22 players invited to the first round draft this year.

Edmunds was one of those 22 players.

Want to know who wasn't there? Reid and Harrison...

Not only are all the mocks wrong about the first round safeties, but so were most of us. The NFL had it right.

Were there any offers to trade down?

Were there any offers to trade down?

He was picked in the first round by people who actually get paid to scout and make the selections. So that makes him a first rounder.

I don't give a rat's *** what some moron talking head on TV thinks or what a random basement scout thinks.

I wish we could trade you.

Every man has his price so make me an offer! My terms, let me pick the new head coach, and we can win another super bowl while Ben is still playing.

But seriously, when Burns was selected, I liked the down trade offer and would have taken X. Howard, who looks to be a better player and Safety J Simmons in the 3rd. Both players are doing well in the NFL.

Every mock draft I saw on the web and all posters here did not see Terrell Edmunds as a first round pick, so if there were any trade down offers, there is a good chance we could have picked him early in round two, and received even more draft picks.

Its a fair question to ask.

Lol @ Cope trying to justify Terrell. Gtfo with that nonsense

if you value Mike Mayock, Terrell Edmunds was not in top 100. Mike is saying he didn't think Edmunds was going in round 1, 2 or 3. If there are any mock draft on the web that had Terrell Edmunds going in round one, I never saw it.

Mike Mayock is pretty good, and being a former safety and DB, he's qualified.

This is only my opinion, but once Shazier was injured the defense took a tumble, so they looked for a player they could draft that could do similar things on 2nd and long or 3rd down. Vander Esch seemed to be that guy but he went before the Steelers picked. And I would have loved Smith, but he went early. Enter Terrell Edmunds. Maybe he's that guy, maybe he isn't The NFL needs Shazier like players.

I am most interested to see if the Steelers had any down trade offers.

And of course, it would be nice if the NFL published all draft boards, say 15 years later to see what other teams thought of him. I think there are enough football junkies out there that would like to get a look.

I like your enthusiasm but I think you got the other Edmunds brother listed lol. But he was there so you do have a point.

I’m not knocking the pick, but perhaps his brother getting invited had something to do with Terrell’s invitation. Avoiding an awkward situation for the family.

Nobody is pretty good when prognosticating the NFL draft. Everybody is sometimes right and often wrong.

That is true. but lets add Mayock to the dozens of experts, X NFL GM's, X-NFL players, and media people who do this stuff for money. Did any of them think Terrell Edmunds was worth a first round pick? Not one man, but dozens. I did not see him mocked in round one anywhere....

When 30 or more people see it that way, it makes me worried.

This is the same Mike Mayock who with a bunch of these so called experts all started getting an erection when the Saints moved up in the draft because they were certain it was to draft Lamar Jackson. I talked to Sean Payton blah blah blah they love this kid and will know how to use him blah blah blah.... the Saints select Marcus Davenport DE.......

Nobody drafted Antonio Brown in the first 3 rounds either. Whatever rd it was...

The guy who put together the team of our 1995 superbowl appearace also drafted Troy Edwards in Rd. 1

And now he helped build this Superbowl Eagles Team.

IM trusting to the fact that the Steelers know what they are doing ,, and this is the first draft with our NEW DB coach who is highly regarded.

I'm not going to worry about the fact that Mike mayock and some others DIDNT mock him, nor will i take the advice of a person who once judged talent on cranium size.

Seriously Coach, how would we know unless Kevin or Tomlin mention that to the media and as tight lipped as they are.
Plus look at when they made their pick from the allotted time. I think the got 8 minutes to pick and they made it with like 4 minutes plus left on the clock.
I doubt with only taking 3-1/2 minutes that it took to make their pick they had any time to field trade offers. So my assumption is no there were none.

Same scouts that picked Jarvis Jones and Bud the Dud Dupree. Hmmmmm. Not a whole lot of faith here for those “pros”.

Was he invited or was he just there with his brother as part of the family?
