If Tomlin was fired, here's who we could get. Give us your top 5 names,

Would be fun to see Cowher and Saban spitting at each other on the Steeler sideline.

Bill Cowher would be the only coach I would want to replace Tomlin!

He did alot more with alot less talent on the roster back when he was coaching.

Anyone who can get us the AFCCG four seasons with QB's like Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak & Kordell Stewart and a lackluster receiving corps should be able to deliver a few Lombardi's with this roster!

To say that Cowher had less talent on his teams is being disingenuous. His defenses were littered with all-pros and potential Hallf of Famers. He also had a Hall of Fame running back, as well as a pretty good offensive line for the duration of his career. I'm sorry, but anybody saying that needs to go back and take a look at some of those rosters he fielded.

If the Steelers hired an ex-cheater coach, I wouldn't support the team. I don't want to be associated with a team that has to cheat to win.

Why exactly did McDaniels fall out of grace in Denver? Anyone? Anyone?

The only man I would consider given the situation of the organization at the moment is Tony Dungy.

Anybody who suggests Josh ******* McDaniels coming here to coach needs their damn heads examined. McDaniels was a complete boob in Denver, and hasn't brought all kinds of success to the cheats either. McDaniels is only anhthing because of Brady, not the other way around.

1 Todd Wash -D coordinator Jags
2 George Edwards - D coordinator Vikings
3 Matt LaFleur - O coordinator Rams
4 Frank Reich - O coordinator Eagles - High on this one
5 Pete Carmicheal-O Coordinator Saints

5 solid coaching prospects...........

Frank it wouldn't even be a big jump you are already in PA! Eagles killing it tonight!

Yeah, he's underachieved, the team has underachieved. But I see the issues multi-faceted, not a root derivative of the fact Mike Tomlin is the head coach.
What does the derivative of a square root have to do with anything?

Yeah, he's underachieved, the team has underachieved. But I see the issues multi-faceted, not a root derivative of the fact Mike Tomlin is the head coach. Not sure what other head coach would have gotten us over the hump, with these same coordinators and coaches in place. I think Bell's injury last year in AFCC had more to do with that loss to Pats than the fact Tomlin was the head coach. Who knows how we play the Jags with Shazier out there? Just saying. I agree he needs to do a better job taking charge and exercising more control and discipline over players and coaches. So yes, I'd like to see him be a better leader. But I can't accept the fact he's the root of all our problems and the reason we haven't won a SB since the last one, which we won of course with Mike Tomlin coaching the team.

If a team has "multi faceted" issues, then I'd argue that is a fact that supports the idea that the head coach is the root of the problem. If you could easily point to one or two issues and say "this is what doomed us" you could isolate the problematic players or assistant coaches and shore up those areas. But if you have problems all over the place, then you have to look at the people whose sphere of influence is wide.
