Enough with the cheating - they are excellent

Will say this. The game very much hinged on a play early in the fourth quarter I believe. Gurley ripped off a huge run that put them near scoring position. Hold. 1st and 20. Punt. Pat's took over. They always seem to get that call at the key moment.

Not only that, once again they play an entire game with not one holding call. You mean to tell me that nobody on the Pats O line held Aaron Donald, Fowler, or Suh once the entire game? There might have been one, but it was called very late in the game when the Pats were very much in control. Anyone that doesn’t believe me, I welcome you to go watch the replay of any Patriots playoff game from any year.

One of the things cheat teaches them. To hold. He commented way back when they won't call everything.

So he does illegal picks, illegal formations, has the DBs and O-linemen hold. Teaches them what they can get away with. Often his WRs will push off to gain separation.

I am telling you with this team it is what

DON"T

they do.

that is why the Pats are great, not married to a dogma and adjust on the fly.
Or, the Rams defense was tired and disheartened because their offense was complete garbage and at some point they had to realistically ask themselves "Is there ANY ******* chance Jared Goff wins this game?"

As for "deflategate" apparently not helping beause, "hey, it's past and the P*ts are STILL winning so it must not have been a big deal..."
See, the thing is, in and of itself, it's not a big deal. What it does is help the receiver and runner hold on to the ball and not fumble. Care to look at the P*ts fumble statistics? They were so far out of the statistical outlier that this alone should have alerted the league SOMETHING was up. So, now they got caught and they have to stop deflating balls.

Guess what? Deflating footballs was ONE thing they do. Just ONE little thing they do to get an advantage.

- The have been caught sneaking in and stealing other teams 1st quarter scripts.
- They have been caught stealing radio signals.
- They have been caught communicating with the QB helmet after the 15 second cutoff.
- They have been caught filming other teams signal calls
- They take advantage of completely vague and confusing verbiage in the rulebook to their benefit and the refs never question it. Never have an issue.

I would submit to you that there are 15 little tiny things the P*ts are doing that are either against the rules or unethical and each one of those things gives them a very small advantage in some aspect of the game. All those little things add up to nearly perfect seasons and 9 trips to the SB in 17 years.

You want a superbowl halftime show worth watching? Lock all the P*ts in the locker room and release tear-gas on closed-circuit camera.

Ok...I throw this tidbit of information. I have an acquaintance who was part of the security team for the various venues, practice fields hotels, not to mention locker rooms. There were security teams from 5 different states patrol forces in addition to the US secret service bomb sweep units (K9s, etc). Not to mention the NFL’s own security teams, of which 75% are ex-FBI/CIA, city police and military specialists. All these teams were working together and independently for both teams.

The Rams security checkpoints at all of their locations were double check in stations. One from an assigned state, secret service or ATL police, with the other being NFL security. Any non team member had a 30 minute process getting to the practice field, their hotel or to the stadium.

NE on the other hand, in addition to the double check in stations, had three additional security teams. Of NE’s own security personnel and additional Kraft Group security. Then there is this unbelievable additional security measure. All NE final checkpoints included retina scanners. Retinal Scanners folks. Yeah, to be so secretive is just all about winning. BS, it’s about protecting their operation from being uncovered again. Belichick office for the week was at Ga Tech’s football HC’s office. The doors were locked with steel chains on both sides. It was rumored Geoff Collins attempted to get into his office for recruiting files and was told your office will be available Monday morning.

Sure, overkill precaution means better football. I would liken it to an organized crime operation.

Belichick and Brady are all about winning and it is a trickle down effect on the rest of the organization.

Belichick is the man in that building and everyone knows it. Heck, he was prepared to get rid of Brady in favor of a younger QB. He's that confident in his system and he has reason to be. That team will adjust and do whatever it takes to win because if you don't do your job, you're cut and they bring someone else who will do what is expected. The players probably don't have as much fun playing for that organization, but they know they'll probably be playing in a Super Bowl. If Adams contributes to those wins in a big way, why haven't we hired our own version? The Pats need a playmaker, they go out and sign one or trade for one. We have an organization in this city that is relatively close in style and philosophy as the Pats and they just won two Stanley Cups. When you have elite players, you acquire whatever talent it takes to make it to the next level and win a championship.

1 I am sure there isn't a Adams around every corner.

2 Perhaps we prefer not to cheat to win? I know I do.

I don't want us to start cheating... I want them to stop. Since they obviously won't stop the NFL needs to swarm the pats****** offices and facilities. Don't tell them they are coming, take every piece of paper, DVD, CD, VHS tape, Beta tape, microfiche, floppy disk, hard drive, flash drive and computer. Then hire a forensics lab to go over everything.

Are they cheating or are they just smarter than everyone else? This article does a good job explaining one member of the Patriots staff and highlights how Belichick surrounds himself with smart people

They are cheating. Have been caught too many times not to be.

If you were caught cheating nothing happened, was caught again ....got slapped on your wrist and then got a raise.

Would you stop?

I think analytics is allowed, and I remember the Steelers hiring someone with that background..

Mario’s organization doesn’t circumvent NHL rules or destroy evidence to prove or disprove any unfair competitive advantage. It’s called sportsmanship.

Not an astute comparison to the Kraft organization. IMO.

And yes Belichick is confident. He’s had the cat with the canary in the mouth look for a long while because he knows he has an unfair competitive advantage. More so to let the golden boy fall on his sword during deflate gate, knowing he would have been banned from the league had it had been proven he was involved. Belichick is a genius not because he’s a football savant, but he knows how to compartmentalize who does what and where. One staffer or player may not have any idea what another does, because their mantra is “do your job”, not anyone else’s.

Belichick has an inner circle. Outside of that circle folks just do the job they are told. Mangini explainer it perfectly. If the video asst doesn’t know the tape he’s bringing to a coach is illegal, how would he be considered a culprit? If another staffer is performing a role by itself that isn’t a problem, but if the inner circle is taking information from other staffers, again individually, then only the inner circle is compiling information that’s considered illegal. Ernie Adams is a mathematical genius, history magnet and has a photographic memory. He was a friend of Belichick dad, and met Bill in college. They have been together at each of his coaching stops. He took a sabbatical for a few years and made a fortune working in the stock market.

Being smart doesn’t mean you can cheat. Even idiots cheat. Cheating and not getting caught is being smart. To bad when he was caught....twice, his boss had his best friend the commissioner to bail him out.

they don’t lose to the Steelers when it counts

I was familiar with this position and just checked out his Twitter and saw the Steelers were advertising for a position back in October, so apparently they are at least slowly expanding the analytics department.

B&B have now been to 9 SBs in the last 18 years and have won 6. How do you ridicule what commands respect?

You have to respect the Gints and the Iggles too because they're the only teams that have beat these guys when it matters.

I'll never say anything good about those two teams...ever! Nor The Ratbirds.

That's hilarious. Tomlin won't even hire someone to help him with replay challenges.

Did they cheat in the past? ABSOFUCKINGLUTLY, But I am not convinced they are at this point and here is my reasoning.

1) If you were going to cheat to get to the SB why would you not cheat to make sure you win. They do have three losses after being caught.

2) You mean to tell me that 31 other owners are either turning a blind eye and don't give a ****, or even worse 31 other owners ain't smart enough collectively to catch them?

I think they really have bought into the team first mentality and are just winning with average at best players. Just like losing can be culture thing so can winning. Look at Detroit for a perfect example they have had some of the best teams talent-wise in the NFL but can't get into the post season. Winning can become contagious some people and teams just can't accept losing, so they win.

I hate the pats damn near as much as I hate the cowboys but I sure as hell respect their winning attitude and no bullshit from the players way. But hey what do I know I will probably be called a pats nut hugger and not a true Steeler fan after this post.

Also if I remember it right didn't we have a coach try and trip a player to keep him from scoring, and another coach that damn near tackled a player for the same reason. And were we not also in question about deflated balls right after the pats were? As far as stealing signals if we are being honest if we would have done it and won three more SB bowls what would our attitude be towards other teams complaining about us cheating? I bet most would say **** them their jealous cause we have nine rings

Hooray, Patriot ball wash thread! Let's just ignore that they have actually skirted the rules. This is exactly why the league has propped them up, this is what they want. Legitimize them, and then the crime is fully washed away.

You mean like Old Slice?

That could never happen.

even if they had two weeks to prepare for the Rams? I think they are that prepared and coached well.

2 weeks to prepare for a play that The rams had not run in that situation all year?

i think it was like 3rd and 2 and the pats lined up with 2 high safeties. It was not disguised. The Rams should have seen that and changed the play. I don't think Goff has the football IQ to make those calls

Again, that's pretty damn good luck to call the defense, which is not typical of the Pats, in the exact perfect moment, against a play the Rams hadn't run previously.

It's not just steelers. There have been many ex-players who have said the same thing about the Pats. They guess right far too often to just be good coaching.

Good coaching does account for the Pats being right more than average.

This is not sour grapes. This is documented. They have been CAUGHT doing this. They had a guy in disguise filming signals. They have a non-football coach on payroll whose only job is to be a code breaker. When the NFL seized the evidence, they deemed it so damning that they burned it on the spot so nobody could see the extent of it.

This is not a conspiracy theory. It is documented that it happened.
