Don't think Ray Rice will be defended anymore...

And if someone from another organization "shut up", you'd be howling in outrage.

You can take your hypotheticals and go **** yourself. I would not expect any person to speak to police if they didn't want to. I don't give a **** what uniform you wear. You can keep trying to make strawmen to make this constantly about what you want it to be about, that doesn't change the facts.

Why read up on it? I remember the DA acting disgusted with him. I'm confident Ben has serious regrets about it. I don't care about specifics, I just know it was shameful and there's no use defending it.

Yes, why become informed on a topic, because that takes work, just keep spewing ****. Lazy ****.

I doubt it had anything to do with football. No DA looks forward to going up against high powered attorneys in high profile cases. He had little evidence and one witness who was too drunk to recall much of anything. On the face of it, it looked bad and still does.anybody with any objectivity feels that way.

I hate Goodell as much as anyone. But if a similar incident to Bens happened again I sure think the player would get suspended. I don't recall Harrison getting suspended for his domestic violence charge. To suggest anything has to do with a vendetta against the Steelers is ridiculous.

That's strange, because several similar incidents HAVE happened since then, Colin Rapernick was accused this summer. Now, no charges were filed, but he was accused, and a police report was filed, just like with Ben, and he was indeed in a HOTEL ROOM with the alleged "victim". Strange how he didn't even get one game.

I don't recall Thuggs getting suspended either. Do you?

Or I just realize it's not important to be an expert on the matter. It's over he wasn't charged but I doubt I'm going to learn anything that will make me think it wasn't a shameful incident at best. The good thing about being silent about an accusation is you don't get yourself into more trouble. The bad thing is you don't do much to exonerate yourself either.

EXONERATE??!! Hell by your definition OJ was EXONERATED by the jury. Ray "The Knife" was EXONERATED of murder charges. And guess what ... Apparently lost to you amid Mr. Small County DA's "morals" lesson was the tidbit where he said they could find no evidence that he did anything "LEGALLY" wrong. That is nothing short of EXONERATION.
So, since the DA EXONERATED him, why the hell should Ben say anything? To appease some whiny, judgmental spectrum of society that believes that using the 5th Amendment right to remain silent means you're guilty? Screw that.
And truthfully, I'm done with this ... it happened years ago, Ben served his unnecessary suspension ... From all indications he's been a model teammate and citizen since then.
Now Rice, the Ravens, Roger and the NFL ... those are the UNRESOLVED situations TODAY. And based on the video, there should have been no EXONERATING Ray Rice. However, if he completes the terms of his plea deal, it will be removed from his record.

OJ didn't take stand and was found not guilty which does not mean he is innocent it means they couldn't prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. DAs will also choose not to prosecute crimes or alleged crimes based on a lack of evidence. That doesn't make anyone innocent.

spoken like someone who's never had drunken sex.
IF Ben did break out Big Ben in a bathroom that was barely big enough for two people to be in, wouldn't there be some form of DNA smeared somewhere on skin or clothing?

lack. of. evidence.

as you stated

DA knew there wasn't a case. Not even the speculation of doubt.

Lack of evidence sure moves the bar closer to innocent than it does to guilty. Thanks for playing.
I notice that your join date was September 12.
We had an "legend in his own mind" poster "leave" the board on that day.
I don't have any evidence that you are him. But, according to you, I don't need any evidence. My belief that you are him is sufficient. So, welcome back Franco.

I think it's people believing what they want to believe. Ravens fans like to believe Ray Lewis isn't guilty of anything beyond obstruction of justice which is a FACT, right? The FACT is you and I will never know ALL of the FACTS surrounding Bens case. You can believe he did absolutely nothing wrong but something causes public perception.

Do you know who knew all the FACTS on the Big Ben case... the D.A... and do you know what he said in response to why he didnt bring charges against Big Ben??? He said that he prosecuted crimes, not morals... That is all you need to know about the situation.

OMG --- give it a rest ... what happened several years ago to Ben has NO bearing what so ever on what is happening NOW --

although ---

1. the Rooney's DID NOT try to cover it up -- like the Ravens DID .
2. the Rooney's worked to ensure ALL the data was received -- Seems to me that the Ravens and the Commish tried to HIDE the data ONCE again ..
3. the Rooney's most likely has an hand in what the penalty for Ben was -- although I don't think they thought he would be the ONLY one that was held up to these standards . Seems like all the other teams don't care about the credibility of their players.

We all know that the Commish has been inconsistent in EVERY THING he has done. I don't want to list all the players that have been in trouble in the off season that we have heard about - or the ones that have not been reported on by the media - or the ones that have been swept under the rug ( i.e. 49ers QB in a similar situation as Ben but yet that was story was squashed very quickly )... lets move on from things that have happened YEARS AGO ..

He was SUSPENDED for personal conduct, that's exactly what is going on now. Goodell and the NFL are trying to figure out what their policy should be. iMany here think Bens suspension was completely unwarranted. I, along with the Rooneys who you seem to support, think it was warranted and he played a role in getting himself suspended.

Talked to the Rooneys personally have ya? And the point that people are making is that Goodell has had a benchmark case (Ben's case) and no damned case after that has been treated in the same manner, no matter the allegations, facts, or evidence supplied. So don't tell me that Goodell and the NFL are just now trying to "figure out what their policy should be". If that's the case, your argument supplies more evidence that discipline under Goodell has been arbitrary and capricious and Ben got hosed.

no this is about mini ray ray being a little **** and the ratbird organization making a deal with godell to gloss it all over........

You STILL didn't read what I wrote ... and the fact is most of us have no problem with the penalty but the FACT THAT THEY ARE INCONSISTENT !!! or NOT EXISTENT !!

and if you think that being accused of something warrants a penalty greater than someone being CONVICTED or CHARGED of something then you need your head examined .. Get a grip buddy
