Don't think Ray Rice will be defended anymore...

What on earth are you talking about?

Well, if you missed it ... and were just cut/paste quoting, I apologize. Anyway, thanks for the debate. I'm done with the Rice/Goodell thing for today. Have a project to get finished and a game to watch later.

I did miss it and must have made the same typo myself, whatever it was.

Good luck!

The law enforcement official does need to be fired. He was not authorized to distribute this tape. Period.

As I understand it, the NFL requested the tape and the police provided it. No problem whatsoever. He shouldn't be fired. You're just pissed off that your Ravens look bad because Rice got caught on tape and the team along with the NFL gladly turned a blind eye hoping that the in-elevator tape would never surface.

But it did. Some disgruntled casino employee went and got paid by TMZ and now a big old mess of worms is opened up because Roger and your team didn't have the common sense or the integrity to deal with the issue as it should have been done. And now this has shed light on the entire policy of mistruth and scandal and coverup that has been Goodell's legacy. Ever since he started, and perhaps before, who knows the NFL has slowly been turning into professional wrestling. It's getting harder to believe **** isn't fixed all over the place and I'm getting really really tired of it.

Sadly, like pathetic meth-heads, fans can't put down the pipe. We'll sit there and tune in regardless because we just don't care. We'll merely hope that this week the game may be rigged in our favor or that the scandals won't touch us. You sit here Hollywood and defend Rice and the league pathologically. He punched a woman he supposedly loves. You don't punch your friends like that. Hell, you don't punch your enemies like that without the serious threat of actually going to jail. That's ******* assault. It's pretty simple. You punch somebody in the head and force them to go unconscious and they have a pretty clear-cut case to either put you in prison or sue you for everything you own.

It doesn't matter if her head hit the rail. Her head only hit the rail because her ******* fiance, (Her fiance of all people!) hammered her in the face with enough force (we're talking physics here,) to cause her to lose motor functions and drop to the ground. Everything that happened to her happened because of the blow to her head that he inflicted. And the league and the Ravens knew about it, from the tape most assuredly, but at the very least from Rice's own admission. Yet they only gave him 2 ******* games suspension. The Ravens didn't even have the decency to add to the league's punishment.

When I first heard about the in-elevator video I was certain the Ravens wouldn't cut Rice. When I heard they did my first thought was, "Geez, that's a pretty classy move." But then when I began to realize how much they knew about what had happened and just how brutal the abuse was I was horrified that they had tried to cover it up. It's easy enough to say "Well geez, it's just the Ravens. We hate them They're awful!" But they're no different than any other team in the league. They're no different than the Saints or the Chiefs or the Patriots or possibly even the Steelers ultimately. How deep does the owner coverup go and the willingness to turn away and ignore the drug-use and the players bashing their skulls in because the league gets better deals on shittier helmets and players like Ray Rice beating the living **** out of their women and Goodell ditching some tapes showing how the *s have learned the offensive and defensive signals of every team in the league as well as hacked in to all the audio feeds of the coordinators.

That's the legacy that Goodell has left on the fans and the problem the owners have given themselves. How can we trust them anymore? How can we truly believe they aren't all colluding to merely protect the cash-flow and keep the golden-goose alive. How many more scandals can the fans bear? (It would appear we can put up with endless scandals. We do love Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage!)

The fact is, if the video was never released, everything would've been business as normal for both the NFL and the Ravens.

Rice would be reinstated back from his 2 game suspension tomorrow like nothing even happened.

All the more reason to suggest Roger never saw the tape.

IF he didn't see the tape it was out of willful blindness, plausible deniability. He had a responsibility to look at it before handing out the punishment. You don't just take the accused's word for what happened, or the word of a woman who has a huge financial interest in him keeping his job. Who was interviewed with her abuser sitting right next to her.

Yep, huge miscalculation on Rog's part. I remember saying when this first happened, there has to be a tape of the punch, and eventually it's going to come out.

So, to the fuckstick running around saying there was NO reason to believe the NFL OR the RAVENS knew about this, here is a nice article that the ******* front office KNEW within hours exactly what was on that elevator video.

Let me know when they dig up that Ben video, and uncover all those phone calls and payoffs, ************.

Looks bad for the NFL weenies, but actually looks better for Mr. and Mrs Rice. Both intoxicated and "fighting over the upcoming wedding and text message from another female to Ray". Sounds like what might have been a minor disagreement got way out of hand because both parties were intoxicated. That kind of stuff happens a lot and when you couple that with the fact that the two of them were able to reconcile and still get married might change it from an incident of abuse to a major wake up for the couple.

Not defending the act or events leading up to what happened between Mr and Mrs Rice, but the punishment should fit the crime. The punishment of Ray Rice also punishes his wife and child as well as him as they are all tied together now.

The NFL never saw the video until this week, and neither did the Ravens. Period. There is no reason to think otherwise.
While I still think Rice is a scumbag and this chick is crazy to stay with him, she has chosen to do so. She chose not to press charges, acknowledged she was equally to blame for the incident, they both decided to move past the incident and marry, has publicly supported Rice and condemns the media crucifying him. That's all we need to know, and the rest is really none of our business. It's their life, time to move on.

So, I'm not sure the Ravens "saw" the video, but since there is AMPLE evidence they knew a video existed, and also evidence that an official on the team got the frame by frame from a law enforcement official, I'd say your statement was pretty full of ****.

I mean, the ******* video ended up IN the NFL office in April. I know, somehow they lost it, or didn't know they had it, or just couldn't find it, or some ****. But the ******* thing was mailed there, and a nice person left a voicemail saying "yeah, we got it, and it's bad". So at least THAT person saw it.

Then we have that wonderful article dealing with the entire Ravens org knowing what went down, the fact that from all indications, Rice TOLD THEM what went down, and they still tried to push it under the rug.

Your right, that's exactly the same thing as the Rooneys saying they would Suspend Ben for more games if they felt the NFL didn't do enough, and also exactly the same since the Rooneys never complained ONE time about the suspension length or the fact that it was done with zero ******* evidence.

I know you'll have some bullshit list of why this is different, and even though you dug yourself a nice deep hole, you'll claim all sorts of **** as to why you were really right after all, but I'd say the facts are pretty ******* clear on this one. And the fact is, except for Harbaugh, who wanted this asshat cut after seeing the FIRST video, from outside the elevator, the whole org is full of classless *****.

The quote from Biscoti BOTH confirms the Ravens knew the tape was out there, they knew that the defense attorney had a copy, and they knew if they wanted to see it, they would have gotten to see it. Direct quote from Biscotti, as per the article-

"If I had said to Ray and his attorney, I can't keep you on this team until I see that tape -- I would have seen the tape and I would have sent it to Roger," Biscotti said.

Yep, sure looks like they really wanted to "get to the bottom of the matter".

Now all the talk is on time of reviewing case for appeal. If the league and the players union along with the owners allow this character to be back there will be he biggest up roar they have ever heard. The past few weeks will be nothing to the outcry of this. You would think the union would want to protect the players that are not the bad apples to keep the game moving forward. Bad enough all the Ravens mess but add this appeal case will be wild.

I think this ends really badly for the league. The NFLPA is saying its going to find out what the league and the Ravens knew and when they knew it. ESPN isn't letting it go... those reporters know its a big enough story that even if they get the blackball from the NFL, it will make their careers elsewhere... also the Ravens initially said publicly that the tape was what Rice had told them happened... now they are changing that story. There are texts and Emails and tapes... This might finally be the conspiracy that they cannot cover up....

What is the relevance of the 2nd video? Or better yet, what is the revelation of the 2nd video? NONE! Everyone is missing the forest for the trees in this whole scandal.

This is a winner. At this stage the knee jerk punishment is way over the top. No I am not a fan of the rats. The gavens are trying to scape goat rice and his family to save themselves. Ben likely went through a similar situation, except instead of the Roonies pleading for mercy they plead for a stiff penalty. That would explain a great deal about the strange penalties. The only ones that don't fit the scenario are the Harrison fines. Those seem to be a vendetta against Harrison and Clark and through association all the other steelers.

There maybe findings of collusion with the ownership and their man in the office if the investigation is on the up and up, I am not counting on that.

Everybody saw the 1st video of her knocked-out, Rice was charged and admitted he hit her, and yet the NFL and the Ravens are like "How were we to know? We never saw the 2nd video" AND EVERYONE BUYS INTO IT! Like its a valid point if they are indeed being honest. And the 2nd video somehow becomes the scandal. I simply don't understand.

This is what Rice's shitbag lawyer said BEFORE the video came out.

"Let's assume for the sake of argument, rather than enter into the pretrial diversionary program that [Rice] entered into, we hypothetically move forward on the case. And hypothetically we litigate 100 motions and the video comes out and the video shows — hypothetically speaking now, hypothetically speaking — shows that Ray wasn't the first person that hit and Ray was getting repeatedly hit but just Ray hit harder, fired one back and hit harder. Hypothetically speaking, and he gets found not guilty. Is that result somehow better? Is it better for the public? Is it better for the Ravens? Is it better for Ray? Is it better for Janay?"

And Bisciotti Seems to be saying that somehow, to be suspended for 6 games based SOLELY on an ACCUSATION would be WRONG. Well ****, how do you like that. I wonder why he wasn't all up in arms when the very ******* thing happen to our qb?

"This is going to be really, really easy to threaten [a player] and get some money," Bisciotti said, "because the minute they threaten in season, he gets cuts and suspended for six games."

How strange he can see it might, just might be about dollar signs in one case, but of course, never, ever in another.

I wouldn't say it was solely on an accusation. If you admit to banging a drunk stranger in a public bathroom that is now accusing you of rape, you have played a big role in getting yourself into a predicament.

Hmmmm ... didn't recall that happening (admitting "banging a drunk stranger in a public bathroom"). However, I can agree that if you admit to hitting your fiance and causing her to be knocked out, "you've played a big role in getting yourself into a predicament". Difference is, one was almost immediately charged and ultimately "punished" by legal authorities. The other was never charged and never punished by legal authorities. Soooooo ... there's that.

Don't you say anything like that about our Bennie, you Ratfan Turd! Poor Bennie was just being a red-blooded all american boy and getting himself some just like every one of us would do. These girls throw themselves at him because of his movie star good looks - how can we expect him to resist? This one and the one in Reno are a couple of gold-digging ****** who got upset that Bennie wasn't going to marry them. That's it. Period.
