Crash footage UPS plane.

That's unbelievably awful... Can't imagine what happened to cause it to roll like that.

One engine detached from the wing during takeoff.
No ****......Holy cow... Another reminder to enjoy every minute....Try to anyways...RIP Crew who were probably looking forward to a few days in paradise and the poor Souls on the ground caught up in the aftermath. That's what nightmares are made of....Damn..

RIP to all. I hate to fly. Steel does not belong in the sky. I have to go to the Bahamas to recharge once a year though.

Likely you won't be flying in an MD-11 built before I graduated college. I've seen footage of terrible crashes but nothing like that. I take that back. Columbia's reentry was worse and hit home to me.

Those old boats were in a lot of crashes.

Condolences to the families of all those lost in tragedy.

I have an uncle who worked for MD before Boeing bought them. Boeing has gone **** quality-wise.

Many planes are 35, 40 years old. Maintenance? Safety inspection ( if there is one) is probably just someone pencil whipping a checklist but never actually looking, checking.

I told my wife it looked like a war movie.
We're flying to Nashville tonight, wish me luck.

Lately we have seen engine break off, doors blown off. Hydraulic fluid spray out, smoke from engines, engines on fire, smoke in cabin, tire failure, landing gear problems. And you are still willing to buy a ticket for a ride?

From what I understand, it started when the FAA inexplicably and unbelievably allowed Boeing to self certify. Why would you do that? It’s been downhill ever since and they are losing a lot of market share to Airbus. It’s their own fault, and I’m still not sure the FAA has reigned them in.

My employer did those self inspections for about 2 years. They switched back because of problems.

I saw a video from behind the plane as it was taking off. There was a huge fire in the left engine as it was trailing 12 foot flames. It reminded me of the concord crash. That's what made it bank down hard left.

It was fully loaded with fuel too. What an awful way to go out. RIP.

Me and Mrs. Burgundy live on the wild side.
Earlier this year she jumped out of a perfectly good airplane for her 60th birthday.
I declined, not afraid of jumping but with a brand new knee I was afraid of landing.

I wouldn't do it. Friend of mine had a daughter turning 18. He asked what she wanted. Jump out of a plane. So they did it. When she saw him the first thing she said was " I want to do it again ".

Local place here is in Grove City near the outlet mall. You are strapped to an experienced professional.
Mrs. B. wants to do it again also. Her brother has done it several times and went with her.

I had to laugh because I uttered the exact same words to my Army Cadet daughter when she told me she was going to Airborne School training down in Ft . Benning Ga.

Asked her why she wanted to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
I lost sleep.

She had to complete 5 jumps in order to earn her “Jump Wings” which I had the honor of pinning on her at the ceremony.

I don’t know where her adventurous spirit came from. Certainly not from me or my wife.
Uh uh, no way.
