They didn't have a chance.
That's unbelievably awful... Can't imagine what happened to cause it to roll like that.
No ****......Holy cow... Another reminder to enjoy every minute....Try to anyways...RIP Crew who were probably looking forward to a few days in paradise and the poor Souls on the ground caught up in the aftermath. That's what nightmares are made of....Damn..One engine detached from the wing during takeoff.
Likely you won't be flying in an MD-11 built before I graduated college. I've seen footage of terrible crashes but nothing like that. I take that back. Columbia's reentry was worse and hit home to me.RIP to all. I hate to fly. Steel does not belong in the sky. I have to go to the Bahamas to recharge once a year though.
Those old boats were in a lot of crashes.Likely you won't be flying in an MD-11 built before I graduated college. I've seen footage of terrible crashes but nothing like that. I take that back. Columbia's reentry was worse and hit home to me.
I have an uncle who worked for MD before Boeing bought them. Boeing has gone **** quality-wise.Likely you won't be flying in an MD-11 built before I graduated college. I've seen footage of terrible crashes but nothing like that. I take that back. Columbia's reentry was worse and hit home to me.
That's a true statement.I have an uncle who worked for MD before Boeing bought them. Boeing has gone **** quality-wise.

No idea. That has yet to be determined by the NTSB.How does an engine detach during take off? Did no one in maintenance notice it.
From what I understand, it started when the FAA inexplicably and unbelievably allowed Boeing to self certify. Why would you do that? It’s been downhill ever since and they are losing a lot of market share to Airbus. It’s their own fault, and I’m still not sure the FAA has reigned them in.I have an uncle who worked for MD before Boeing bought them. Boeing has gone **** quality-wise.
Me and Mrs. Burgundy live on the wild side.Lately we have seen engine break off, doors blown off. Hydraulic fluid spray out, smoke from engines, engines on fire, smoke in cabin, tire failure, landing gear problems. And you are still willing to buy a ticket for a ride?
Local place here is in Grove City near the outlet mall. You are strapped to an experienced professional.I wouldn't do it. Friend of mine had a daughter turning 18. He asked what she wanted. Jump out of a plane. So they did it. When she saw him the first thing she said was " I want to do it again ".
Me and Mrs. Burgundy live on the wild side.
Earlier this year she jumped out of a perfectly good airplane for her 60th birthday.
I declined, not afraid of jumping but with a brand new knee I was afraid of landing.
