Browns release their new High School uniforms

If our colors were yellow, maybe. But the Steelers are Black and Gold -- not Black and Yellow.

Sorry, pet peeve

This is correct. Justin/Buff should develop an auto-Karma whacker for anyone who mistakes that.

excuse me, all gold. Whiz said to suck it!

You're in time out! Make that mistake again and you're subject to penalties included but not limited to reading the entire Dri Archer thread again

I can only take 151 pages of that thread and then I will gladly take the timeout.

I think it's yellow. Goldenrod to be exact (which is a yellow flower, not the metal).

The color "gold" is what is in New Orleans color scheme.

Last week, The Freak Show with Mikey and Big Bob, the local morning show on 96.1 Kiss FM, had a heated discussion with Pittsburghers, which resulted in the question: What are the actual Steelers colors: Black and Yellow or Black and Gold?

Due to the recent popularity and association with the Wiz Khalifa song, "Black and Yellow," many Burghers called the show in anger of the song's association with the Steelers because they believe the true colors of the Steelers are Black and Gold, not Black and Yellow.

I pondered this question that morning and thought that I needed to get down to the bottom of this on-air color brawl. So, of course, I went to the local experts, PPG Pittsburgh Paints.

Steve Shorthouse, Color Marketing Manager for PPG Pittsburgh Paints told me that after comparing the "gold" Pantone color of the official Steelers' logo to the PPG Pittsburgh Paints swatches, the PPG paint color most closely matching the official Steelers' logo is called "Fall Gold #117-7."

So there you have it Pittsburgh, gold. In my opinion, if you call the Steelers the Black and Gold or the Black and Yellow, it doesn't make a difference to me. Because, we are all still cheering for the same team.

Be sure to check back on Friday for another black and gold Clutch post!

I don't think it's so much the actual color but the traditional reference that resonates in fan's minds.

In Killkenny they call it Black and Amber...

All jokes aside I think the uniforms are terrible.

I think the team name down the leg looks cheesy.

The only reason for all of these different uniforms is more revenue for the NFL.

Better them than us. Now they remind me of Syracuse. No identity. They really didn't need to try to improve their look, but should concentrate on improving their team.
haven't you heard? they're going to the super bowl this year.

Those are nasty. I do like how it says Browns down the pants though.

I am guessing that the team placed the team name on the uniform pants to help their players figure out which one was the pants and which one the jersey.

"No, no, Manziel, the one with the TEAM name is the pants, the one with YOUR name is the jersey."

If I was on my home computer I would use the access to my Microsoft programs to illustrate the difference between the shade of gold and what yellow is.

It's really not even close. Just look at the yellow hypocycloid, it doesn't match the gold pants.

New Orleans uses like the Penguins, a shade of Vegas Gold.

Everything that organization does and says is ******* hilarious. We should all send them a check to compensate them for entertainment that they provide to us year after year after year.

Lol i actually consider the shadowed block-numbers one of the few pluses of the uni. I really hate how they put "CLEVELAND" across the front of the jersey, like its a damn basketball jersey. And i cant stand the brown facemask, i actually appreciated that the browns brought back their grey facemask, went well with the previous uniform. They just need to NEVER wear the brown-on-brown, that should not be an option. Orange jersey/white trousers combo seems to flow the best, IMO

Ladies and Gentlemen, your Bowling Green Browns

I hate the drop shadow. It's like when people play around in photoshop and add **** just because they can, not because it has any real aesthetic appeal. I hate how the shoulder stripe now comes too far into the front of the jersey. Why? For what purpose? I hate the name Cleveland on the front. I hate the name Browns on the leg. And I hate that they have versions of the white jersey with the numbers in orange. Bright on bright looks terrible.

yeah, the shoulder stripe is annoying as well. and don't even get me started on the "browns" on the pant leg, beyond ridiculous.

With the Browns color combination, I don't think it is possible to have good uniforms.

I love ours, always have.

As much as I hate the teams; the Cowboys and Raiders have great uniforms too, as do the Packers. The 49ers are solid too.

The Bucs unis were good till they ruined them last year. I still say the Seahawks are an eyesore and I think the Power Blue Chargers are beyond the most over rated uniforms ever.

I couldnt agree more, with all of this. I hate the cowboys beyond measure, but even I can admit that they keep a sharp look. And yes, tampa bay had a sweet uni that they had to go and ruin it. Steelers have one of the best unis in the league, next to Oakland, San Fran and Green Bay

the browns on the side of the leg should be up the middle of the rearside of the pantaloons

I always thought the Cowboys unis are boring and the blue never match. Hate the silver/blue pants, too. The 49ers are OK, but plain. Black and silver is always a good combination. Black and Red are good, too. I dig the Cardinals and Falcons uniforms. The Packers color scheme is nasty. Glad I don't have to sport yellow and green. Reminds me of vegetables.

so, you wouldn't want an all yellow, all black and all white unis, tape? I do like our uniforms and really hope they don't give in to change. The Rooneys seem pretty good with honoring tradition with minor tweaks.

I remember when they changed the jersey, Not to beat the dead horse more, but I loved adding the patch, not thrilled about the numbers. I also remembering they said they were going to change the pants in a few years, Well, that was nearly 20 years ago. Glad they didnt. Would the black stencil "Steelers" be a good pant stripe?

Please, NO!!!! I'm pretty sure I would loathe it. I hate that the Browns did it and I don't even care two ***** about them.
