I found this interesting. Whether it be motivational or Tomlin is simply calling it as it is. Can't start from a hot tub, so it isn't impossible to see BigDot not getting the start come game 1.
I haven't heard anything about an attitude issue. I am thinking it revolves around him not being just shoved ahead of RC missing the huge chunk of camp that he has.I just don't get it.
I believe the initial reports back in June was that he showed up to mini-camps out of shape, but he looked, at least physically, to be in better shape than he was last year.
Must be an attitude issue or something.
Little surprising from Mike that he was so bold in putting a player on blast.I just posted it in the other Dotson thread. No one wanted to believe Dejan when he reported the Steelers weren't happy with Dotson. Tomlin did not hide his feelings today.
Not a chance. Chuks immediately returned to practice with the first teamers. Green, who never played in the NFL, was placed in the starting lineup. The coaches are not happy with Dotson.I haven't heard anything about an attitude issue. Good point Chuks was shoved right back in there and that is with the rook reportably playing well. Not a chance. Chuks immediately returned to practice with the first teamers. Green, who never played in the NFL, was placed in the starting lineup. The coaches are not happy with Dotson.

No doubt. If he means he has not worked because he is injured and missed a lot of time it will be one thing. If he is disappointed with the work he has put in, that would be the strongest indictment of a player I've seen Tomlin make. That wouldn't be putting him on notice. That would be he is cut.Little surprising from Mike that he was so bold in putting a player on blast.

Dejan is pretty adamant that he never said Dotson was out of shape. From his site's live training camp blog:I just don't get it.

That is true, it was just speculation it was conditioning. If I had to guess his source was probably an assistance coach or Colbert.Dejan is pretty adamant that he never said Dotson was out of shape. From his site's live training camp blog:
"I'm going to keep repeating that I never reported that Dotson was out of shape. An Instagram comment that tried to summarize my report added that, and that's what went wild. What I reported was that the coaches were disappointed in his offseason. I still have no idea why."

New playbook, new blocking scheme and techniques .... maybe he didn't do enough of the mental stuff as they expected.I just vaguely recall his conditioning being talked about during that time.
I'm not really sure what the hell "disappointed in his off-season" means if conditioning isn't the issue.
He did. 2009. Mendenhall came out back from being benched with 165 yards rushing and 2 TDs.I believe he benched Rashard Mendenhall once or twice in his second season for lack of effort in practice.
Yep. Must be those HOF speeches.2 things to add.
1. Maybe its something he is doing outside of the game.. Doesnt make a whole lot of sense,, but if its not his work ethic ,, then what? He worked out fine in his time on the field last year.
2. WTF is up with Tomlin. Calling Haskins Mr. Checkdown, ******** on dotson now. Its rare but when he does it, its kinda ******. Calling Walace OTP.. Wonder if the HOF speeches got him fired up and now hes back to mr namecalling motivator,.
Dotson is completely dismissing it to not practicing. I again will say that Okorafor didn't practice and went back into the lineup and a rookie is in the starting lineup. Also, the guy ahead of him is terrible. If Tomlin, Canada, and Klemm had full confidence in Dotson as the starting LG he would be back in with the starters. They clearly want to challenge him and not hand him a starting job for a reason.
If he's healthy enough to practice, he's healthy enough to practice with the starters. He's behind Rashad Coward, a guy who arguably shouldn't even be on the roster.Exactly. Dotson hasn't returned to practice fully from his injury yet.
Yep. Must be those HOF speeches.
