Beachum torn ACL

better bring in a tackle for depth...
 
Does this mean he'll be cheaper to resign in the offseason?
 
Dammit !!! Always a ****** injury to derail progress............well, Villanueva filled in nicely.

I'm ok with Villunueva in there he played pretty damn good down the stretch! Then we got Adams as backup for him.

I heard he was done and I heard he might be back for the play offs at the earliest.
 
What is the deal with Adams? He might need to be ready to fill in at RT if needed and switch Gilbert to LT if there is a injury. Good time to bring in a T IMO...

The thing I like about Beach is that he plays like Tunch. Yeah, I know that Tunch was a guard…but Tunch gave bigger guys fits. Beach has great technique for an undersized tackle.
 
Beachun is out for the year.

We just lost beachum to a torn ACL. Bad luck for a guy during a contract year. Go Villnueva. Your time is now!

This right here. Under no circumstances should Mike Adams ever see the field again
 
Adams is eligible to return to practice next week...doesn't mean he is ready. Villanueva should get the start AND hopefully have some help outside against Houston and Hali who only had 4.5 sacks between them before today.

Dittos and dittos. Adams is barely adequate on the right side and lousy on the left. And yes it should make it easier to sign Beachum for less money than he would get otherwise.
 
villunueva on fox was said was 6"7 270, our site has him at 6"9 320, Guy hasa huge aram span and looked very good at not allowing anyone around the corner, similar that he is agile, like beachum is a perfect fit to leave in a exact perfect type of ot you want from a primary spread O, tall long arm and quick feat LT.
Sucks for Beachum as he worked his *** off in the off season getting stronger, maybe we can get him back cheaper and play at LG.
 
Villaneuava played well against a good D. Sucks that this happened. The silver lining is we now may be able to keep him and DeCastro next year.

Can we nickname him Hightower?
 
I knew Beachum was hurt pretty badly when I saw Wallace waving desperately towards the sidelines. Guys do that when the injured player is yelling in pain - not a good sign.

Villanueva played REALLY well. I watched him several plays, and he stoned the RDE on the pass rush, and did a really good job of sealing the edge on runs around his side. Very impressed.

Sucks *** that the team lost the starting LT. Kudos to Tombert for having a player as good as Villanueva ready to take over.
 
I feel badly for Beachum... earned that payday he had coming, but that is why players shouldn't always go for the big money over the lesser surefire money. ACL could be longer than a year recovery... really screws him bad...
 
Beachum wasn't having his best year, but this is a tough loss. Villanueva looks the part and is a hard worker, hopefully he can get up to speed fast. They spent training camp preparing him to play both tackle spots.
