While Beachum will have to rehab to get back on the field, two things are going to control his destiny, IMO. The play of his back-up, Villanueva and his own ability to get well.
I surely don't see him as an upgrade (as some do) to Foster. Not saying Foster is 'all that' either. Just sayin' Beachum, while an above average pass protector, he is sub-standard in the run-blocking department. NOT what you look for in a starting LG. Beach has a decent anchor but fails moving forward. Foster isn't a whole lot better but neither are elite in any category for sure.
If Villanueva shows he is capable, Beach could be on the outside looking in. This is especially true if Stingily can adapt and be considered as a 'swing' tackle. Foster will be a FA also after this year so don't be surprised if a draft pick and a FA are brought in to compete.
