Rooted for the Astros last night. So sick of the Yankees. The Astros play the Royals tomorrow....go Blue!!!

And tonight I will be on the edge of my seat watching the Pirates. I hate that the winner has to play the Cards....yet again. Go Buccos!!!

If this team is on, they can beat Arietta. If not, the can lose to the worst pitcher in the league.

Let's Go Bucs!

Watching the game last night, I could not help but feel it foreshadowed what awaits the Pirates tonight: being blanked at home by their league's likely Cy Young winner.

I'm hoping for the best, but I'm expecting a 3-1 or 2-0 type loss. Arrieta is just in one of those zones, and the Pirates have not been hitting well for the past couple weeks. It's not a good combination, especially considering the Cubs, as a team, have been doing EVERTHING well doing that span.

Definitely not starting off well ... got behind each of the first three batters before the double play.

Ugh, looking like last year already. No way they can win if Cole gets lit up.

Damn lots of estrogen in here already. This is worse than the football section. It's 1-0.

Yo ump. You want to call strikes that far outside the box for the Cubs, make damn sure you do it for us too

May as well be 10-0 I'm afraid. Cole is good for 2-3 runs and the Pirates bats have been struggling

You were saying? It's 3-0 now. I think I'm gonna watch Ghost Hunters. I might bring better luck.

That's probably the game.

Cole wet himself tonight when they needed him to be at his absolute best.

Just like Volquez last year, the pressure of the one game playoff, opposing a great starter was too much.

I don't know i do not think Cole is all that. He is a good pitcher of course, but i would not call him a true ace. I like his intensity, but i feel he is overrated at this point.

Cole coming up small. 98 wins, and shown the door again.

Those pitches from arrieta are just nasty. Maybe cole can get arrieta out of the game by beaning him.

It would be pretty nice if these ******* idiots would stop looking at the first pitch every single time. Jesus, arrieta is getting the upper hand every single at bat. It's hard to do anything when each batter starts off 0-2.

Sigh. Hoping for a miracle. This one game playoff thing sucks. Cole looks like he's about to cry. Get him out of there.

this game is just about over. They can't hit him and he has a lead. Deja Vu.

I stopped watching it. You could tell Cole was off from the get go. Then the Pirates batter's stand there and watch the only good pitches to hit sail in for strikes then flail around aimlessly at junk after he gets ahead in the count.

I figure turning it off will lower my blood pressure and maybe it will give them some luck but I am not holding my breath.

He had an ace caliber season, with 19 wins and a 2.6 ERA. Though he came up short tonight, he typically rises to the occasion.

He currently isn't on Arrieta's level, but if THAT is your threshold for extending the ace label, there's only about two or three of them out there.

I yelled "SWING!" at the TV. Why in the world they are watching those pitches I'll never know. It's probably going to be a strike either way, might as well swing.
