Any word on Tuitt or Green

Ladarius Green (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday.

It's not a good sign after Green had a setback late last week. Green remains in the concussion protocol and will need to get cleared before Friday to have any chance of playing.

Wasn't he out last Wednesday too? I thought he only went on Thursday and the "setback" happened going into Friday. I also heard he was on the sidelines with the team on Sunday. I guess we'll have to see what happens tomorrow and go from there. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but it would be damn nice to see him suit up and be ready come Sunday.

He went full on Wednesday and Thursday last week and was downgraded Friday. Sorry folks. He's done. I suppose hypothetically if this team goes to the big dance cause that is another three weeks after this. I think he is done done. Hopefully the FO learned something here.

Let us see what today or tomorrow brings for him....

We need for him not to be done....

It does seem that the more concussions you get the easier it is to get the next one.

The research tends to say that when you are healed. Fully healed. You are good to go. And when you think of a boxer being allowed to fight that tends to agree with it. Or like I said Sydney Crosby case in point. He looked done. Either Green wasn't fully healed or he is just more susceptible. I wouldn't say it was a nothing hit, but lets be honest it wasn't a rocker. You are going to get hit like that at NFL TE.

Green needs to retire while he can still spell his last name.

Its just very touchy right now.... there are cases of misdiagnosis all the times with concussions because they really dont know a ton about them. There are guys cleared to play with one a d guys who had allergy symptoms trigger the protocol in other sports.... if you are that worried about it happening all the time, just retire and play it safe

I think Green came to the Steelers in a brain injured post concussion state. He took back to backers which is post concussion syndrome. Either the Steelers were mislead or didn't do their due diligence.

If we can get past KC ... and it wouldn't kill him, I'd be happy to see him suit up (and do well) against the Cheats. Wouldn't care if he decided he was done after that. Just suit up and get us to the dance kid.

If Green is done, wouldn't mind Leggett the Clemson TE with our #2 pick.

If looking for a pure catching TE, might want to wait til the 4-5th round and take Adam Shaheen from Ashland University. Small school but he's going to be a steal late, IMO.

If Green can suit up again, fine. If not, then I'm still ok with keeping him under contract through next year. I wouldn't throw away the possibility of a Ben, Bell, Brown, Green, Bryant, offense next season. If he goes down the same path, then it'll be time to cut their losses on him.

Hopefully the FO learned something here.

?????....THEY NEVER SIGN ANYBODY

Every off season we are trained and conditioned the Steelers will sign nothing of significance......They finally sign a FA and you want them to revert back to a boring off season?

Ok, so football happened....The guy is a talent that they needed and they made a bold move. When on the field he is a dimension we haven't had....It is a gamble, but a necessary gamble nonetheless. I hope the front office doesn't look at this signing and say we we learned our lesson....

This is football and people get rocked consistently......The kid got rocked.....Welcome to the NFL

Sorry, your statement just doesn't make any sense at all........

Will you people get your heads outta your ***** and quit wasting energy jibber jabberring about the future?

WE HAVE A GAME TO WIN THIS WEEK!

FOCUS people FOCUS!

They try to make one relevant move to my mind per year. You can't fill all spots with people on the roster. They do an exceptional job of bringing up prospects from the draft. This year they had holes in the defensive backfield and TE. They chose to not take Hunter Henry and went DB because they got Green. Thing is Green was available for a reason. If a guy like that is available in his prime it is for a reason. Same was with Mitchell. he came with injury baggage too. his sorted out. Appears Green's won't.

All eyes on Jake Butt in the draft at TE. If he slips into round 3 or 4, you grab him knowing he's probably not playing this season due to the ACL tear but knowing you have your TE of the future and can cut ties with Green when you want to.

My take is that both the team and Green thought he'd be fine by the time the season started but obviously that didn't turn out to be the case with his above-the-neck physicality and things of that nature.

That is my take too Ron. Two back to back concussions (even smaller ones) is Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse than one even big boomer one.Take AB (knock on wood, salt over the shoulder, lucky rabbits foot). He took a huge concussive hit from Birth defect. However, he had ample healing time and probably went through every stage properly. green was mishandled and now he is F'd

Green was available because he hadn't shown much other than potential while in SD. They had Gates and weren't letting a "face of the franchise" HOF type go and couldn't afford both of them. He was snapped up by the Steelers pretty early in free agency; so it wasn't like a bunch of other teams passed on him and then we came along to take "leftovers".

They swung early on a player they thought could grow and make the offense even more potent. So far it seems that they missed. It happpens.

Gates is a UFA and likely retiring after this season. The Chargers either let Green walk because they felt he wasn't worth that money or because he was hurt. Pretty clearly from his limited play he was worth the money. They could have tagged him ate the salary for a year, ate Gates contract for a year. They let him walk even though they seen him practice and play. Most outlets made it sound like this was the Steelers biggest Coup in forever. He was a known commodity. But he came with a problem. Gimpy ankle and a brain injury.
