Any word on Tuitt or Green

Exactly. It was just the ridiculous of the refs calls. The one with coats in the end one for face mask that's in front of the ref! What's a call one time isn't the next. This is what makes fans pissednoff and makes it look bias.

That could have been both PI and a face mask. He was pulling his dreadlocks before the face mask.

It doesn't appear Green uses the mouthpiece which has been shown to greatly risk the chance of concussions, several players on the Cheatriots have used them in the past (the one good thing I've ever seen that team do). Really have to wonder why our medical staff doesn't require guys like him with past history to use it, or the league could require the usage if they gave a **** about player safety...that and ban Burfict

I don't understand why the NFL doesn't require all players to use a mouthpiece. I know high school layers are required to use one.

Because the NFL doesn't really give a **** about player safety. This is evident in their head hunting rules. They protect the NFL's high value assets - QBs and WRs and to a lesser degree, RBs. The positions in the NFL that lead to the most long term head damage are OL and DL. The NFL's done nothing there.

The NFL doesn't mandate the use of mouth guards. Or the use of thigh/knee pads, or cups. I could go on.

The NFL's "safety measures" are all around suspect.

Like bigtwnvin said, I think we'll know on Wednesday what's going on if they practice or not

Green took a hit to head earlier in game and got checked out by the protocol guys, was surprised when he came back in from that...then takes another hit to the head while probably still a bit squishy up there from the first hit. He is likely to have a very short career. He may want to think about retiring after this season if this concussion is at all serious and hard not be serious when it is his 4th? I think in less than 2 years.

Last week, too.

Seems like the mouthpiece should be mandatory.

They just got sued big time. I think they care now.

They care about what they got sued about - concussions.

Why they aren't enforcing mouth guards after that I don't know. Since being sued about it, they've done nothing about concussions with players beyond the three positions I've mentioned. So if they care, they are still not showing it.

I'll be shocked if Green plays. Tuitt by all media accounts had no ice or braces on his knee when he was in the locker room after the game.

The Steelers will need every big body healthy on both sides of the ball.
The Rats have behemoths that can move people and cause a lot of disruption at the LOS.

Our medical staff has not been impressive.

Tuitt getting an MRI today.. I don't see him playing this weekend. I'll be surprised if Green is back either. I just hope both can get back for possible playoffs.

Lets hope both are ready this week, time this team stepped up and played as if they want the title against the Ravens.

MRI = not good. Don't see him playing Sunday. Hope nothing is torn and he can be back in a few weeks. Gonna be a tough go without him Sunday.

Stephon Tuitt

While Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt is scheduled to have an MRI on the right knee that he injured early in Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals, the early prognosis seems to be favorable.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, the Steelers feel they “dodged a bullet” when it comes to Tuitt’s knee injury and the early prognosis is that it isn’t serious.

Keep in mind that this is just one early report and we’ll likely learn more about Tuitt’s knee injury on Tuesday when Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin holds his weekly press conference.

It’s way too early to speculate whether or not Tuitt will miss the Christmas night home game against the Baltimore Ravens regardless. Should that ultimately happen and the Steelers still wind up winning that game, you can probably count on Tuitt sitting out the regular season home finale against the Cleveland Browns as well.

Yep, the middle is mushy without him in there.

Tuitt will have a chance to play this week per Tomlin, Green in concussion protocol

Hate to say it but I think Green could be done for the year.

Win this game, Tuitt can rest next week 😁

Yep, me and a co-worker were saying the same thing

What a shame that would be, he's made a huge impact since joining the active roster. Hopefully we can get Hey-Bey back and Jesse really needs to pick it up now.

Tomlin says defensive end Tuitt could be back for Ravens

Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuitt had started a rehab program Tuesday and will have an “opportunity” to play Christmas day in a game that could clinch the AFC North championship for the Steelers.

“We'll watch him participate over the course of the week and see what he looks like,” Tomlin said Tuesday at his weekly press conference. “The position he plays gives him an opportunity that would be less likely if it was a wide receiver or corner.

“We'll give him an opportunity for him to show his overall readiness.”

Without Tuitt, the Steelers were left with only four healthy defensive linemen, three when Ricardo Mathews injured his right ankle and left the Bengals game before later returning.

Tomlin said Mathews could be limited in practice early in the week but could play vs. the Ravens.

Tight end Ladarius Green, who was placed in concussion protocol after taking a hit to the hate late in the Bengals game, was examined Tuesday at the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program.

“We will follow the protocol to the letter as we always do,” Tomlin said.

Green had a history of concussions with the San Diego, sustaining two in a two-week period last season.

“His participation will be an indication of where he's going or not going,” Tomlin said. “We'll make the necessary adjustments to include him or exclude him depending on where those winds take us.”

Running back DeAngelo Williams, who had two full practices last week but didn't play against the Bengals, sat because of swelling in his knee. Williams has missed six consecutive games because of the injury that required surgery.

“Maybe it was a cumulation of the week's work, maybe it was result of the plane flight,” Tomlin said. “We decided to exercise caution and not play him.”

Tomlin said he “fully expects” Williams to play against the Ravens. Williams hasn't played since the teams met Nov. 6 in Baltimore.

Tomlin also said he is “excited” about the possible return of wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot sprain). Tomlin also noted special teams player Shamarko Thomas could return, citing a prior knee injury but not mentioning the concussion that kept Thomas sidelined the past two weeks.
