AB Requests Trade

If you're equating Mike Wallace and Plaxico Burress with Antonio Brown, you're sadly mistaken.

Perhaps you didn't notice that JuJu had 37 yards receiving in week 17 without AB out there getting doubled.
The last two weeks in 2017 without AB he had a combined 16 catches for 218 yards and two tds. Also had 6 catches for 116 yards in the NE game AB left

Did some fact-checking, and you were close. JuJu had 15 catches in the last two games of 2017, which happened to be against two bottom-tier pass defenses in Houston (#24) and Cleveland (#19), and 9 of those 15 grabs along with 143 of those yards were received from Landry Jones in an essentially meaningless contest.

In the 2017 Patriots game (6 for 114), 2 of those receptions for 30 yards were while AB was still in. 69 yards came on the short pass which set up the Jesse James Play at the end of the game. JuJu had 3 catches for 15 yards in between.

More recently, as I mentioned, he caught 5 balls for 37 yards in a season-on-the-line game against Cincinnati. The Bengals had the worst pass defense in the NFL in 2018.

What we do know is JuJu had over 100 catches and nearly 1400 yards in 15 games and was voted team MVP this past season with Brown in the lineup.

What we don't know is how he'll do for a full season without AB around. We'll find out.

True, but those 100+ yards with Landry is probably better than anything AB has ever done with Landry, I know AB has never caught a TD pass from anyone but Ben, JuJu already has. Maybe there's something to what Batch said about AB running routes that he knows are not in the route tree on certain plays. Ben has the ability to extend plays for AB, Landry can't, which is why AB averages like 4 catches for 47 yards a game in games Ben doesn't play

I agree, I think Ben's ability helped make AB one of the best.

That's the other side of the coin -- we'll also find out how well Brown performs for a full season with a different QB.

Rodgers might be the most publicly critical QB in the league...would be hilarious.

Davante Adams and AB could be a deadly duo, add Rodgers slinging the ball and they could have a very potent passing attack. There could be friction, but I am hoping his goes to a less stellar situation.

What did Brown do in that game? I'm pretty sure despite some pedestrian numbers that JuJu still out-performed Brown.

As for Brown going to Green Bay... He thinks BEN has an owner's mentality... wait till he steps into a team meeting with Aaron Rodgers. That dude got his COACH fired cause he didn't like him.

He did a good job pinpointing the ball in the air. Little disappointed in the QB not getting that out a little further so the WR didn't have to slow up in his route.

I hear his production is good, but there is a rumor that he dogs some of his routes

pawz

I bet his vertical and three cone are solid, but you wonder like many other WRs will he act like a hot dog once fame and fortune come his way. I am thinking we are looking at a 6th -7th round developmental prospect. You can draft another WR higher and then Tomlin can do that two dog one bone approach come training camp. I have a feeling in this instance he would shine.

He also has a world record.....AB doesn’t have any world records..

You'd have to take that trade but I would still like to get a pick higher than 20 if possible. I doubt that will happen, though.

If #30 is the best they can get, I agree, you have to take that. A top 15 pick would be glorious, though.

If you get something like #30 you flip one of the firsts for a future first and a 3rd this year. You don't sprint to the podium to draft Jarvii Jones.

DUDE I WAS ALL HAPPY...That is a Mock Draft scenario....

Sorry, it is. I read at lunch that a lot of Packer insiders are hoping the Pack stays clear away from Bell and Brown. I did more reading about how possible this senario is for GB and it's 50/50 for them.

There’s other ways to add value. If the team’s highest pick is #30, the Steelers could also swap their 4th for the teams 2nd and have 4 picks between #20 and #62.

Perhaps you didn't notice JuJu has 20 receptions for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns in three games without AB out there getting doubled.

I'm pretty sure you already know the answer to your question. I guess you're trying to be coy?

Actually, I did.

Evidently you didn't notice that I chronicled those three games in post #102, where I noted that those contests were against #19, #24, and #32 ranked pass defenses. And how JuJu's best performance by far of the three was in a meaningless affair with a backup quarterback throwing the ball to him, against the Browns, who finished the season winless. And how, in the only 2018 sample, he could only manage to put up 37 yards against the very worst pass defense in the entire league.

But sure, JuJu is the best thing since sliced bread, and the Steelers won't miss Brown at all. Right on.

Still conveniently left those out of the previous post. Who cares what defense it was against, a good wide receiver and QB is suppose to tear up a bad pass defense. If only our ground game could do the same against the worst rush defenses.

So what happened against the Bengals' worst-in-the-league defense, then?

Whoops.

Clearly Roethlisberger is throwing for 150 yards per game next year.

And I suppose that will be by the fault of Roethlisberger,,,,...........

I don’t think Big Checks will be missed as much as some here think. We have Draft and FAcy to go through so a lot can change and I see it changing for the better once you add in the gone meMEme and get back to TEAM football!!!
