AB Requests Trade

This^^^^^^. And because of this ^^^^^, we will spend 21 or 23 million dollars this year with very little to show for it. This is my fear.

Don't live in your fears, if the right offer doesn't present itself, we will go back to the lab and conquer what it is we need to conquer. We have men, not on the field of play but in the office, So to speak, that can obtain fair market price of said trade if that is the avenue we will take. I know that if our little mesia does return, I'll have to step up my disciplinary actions and not just make popcorn in doing so.

The Raiders have three 1st round picks.

Pick #24, and #27 for Brown. I'd take it!

#20 Steelers select Corner Byron Murphy
#24 Steelers select NT/DT Dexter Lawerence
#27 Steelers select Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel

Round two: ILB Hanks
Round three: FS

And let's not forget we don't have Brown's cap number if traded in 2020 and beyond, correct?

**** Brown and his all about me attitude. If Gruden ponies up two first rounders for Brown I’d be doing cartwheels. I’m so damn sick of me me Brown and me me Bell I just want to be rid of these two pricks.

And that ******* Dumblin I mean Tomlin better never, ever show that kind of preferential treatment to a player as long as he’s our coach.

Sorry for the language guys, I’m just sick of all this embarrassment to our team.

I like your selections Coach and hope to hell we can get Gruden to bite. He bit for for Bryant so who knows.

What language? That's mild compared to what we see here regularly hehe

No way in hell do I trade the prick to SF where he wants to go unless it is for their next 5 first round picks.

Hahaha, that would be a heist better than Jimmy Johnson pulled on the Vikes when he sent Hershel Walker for multiple first round picks.
Nah, SF won’t give up the 2nd overall pick for Brown. That would be stupid.
I’m hoping we can finagle at least one of those first round picks from John Gruden. I doubt he sends two first round picks but one of them and a third works.

I GUARANTEE that's what this is all about.
He sees other WRs who can't hold his jock, getting paid more.
Of course, he didn't mind that contract two years ago when he was the highest paid WR in the game.
Then they shouldn't sign more than two year contracts. Revis did somethingike that iirc. Of course, that's a big risk but you can't have it both ways, top contract yearly and also security

Getting rid of both these "me first" divas is only going to help this team, I'm telling you. I don't give a **** what kind of stats they both put up. They are poison to the team and the locker room. Once they are gone and the team's cohesion gets back together they will quick underachieving every year. Ben already has a big voice, but aside from him, guys like Heyward, Haden, Watt and Tuitt should be the other voices. Not these two a holes who don't give a **** about winning games as long as they look good losing.

I think we trade Brown and lose Bell win the Super Bowl and they are at Buffalo Wild Wings wondering WTF were they thinking when they left. Steelers move on and we get a good laugh out of all of this next year.

My perfect scenario.

Just to add to that, NO one gets hurt while AB is chucking stuff out the drive through window and LeMEon is not hurting anyone's ears while he is rappIN

Add in O'l McDonald as a voice because he brings the right mentality. I think several players step up in that department.

All the vitriol towards Brown is warranted, I guess, and the ongoing hate toward Bell is understandable after he sat out a full season...but there's been very little said about the gentleman who fostered this type of me-first behavior.

Imagine if you could snap your fingers and tear out the real root of the problem (Tomlin), and bring back both Brown and Bell in 2019 under a new coach willing to do what it takes to keep these talented (yet mentally unstable) superstars in line, and focused on what really matters -- winning the Super Bowl.

If I owned the team, I'd sit down with those two players and find out if getting rid of Tomlin would do the trick for them, and if so, I'd ******* fire his *** in a heartbeat. Brown and Bell are infinitely more valuable to the Steelers than Tomlin is.

I know, I know. It'll never happen. But like Sarge said, it is fun to dream.

Nothing has been said about Tomlin? Really? I think the majority of the board would be please if all three were gone by next season.

I don’t think teams are going to offer as much as some of you all think.... he’s a 31 year old WR with his best years behind him. Add to that he’s a headcase... I’m thinking maybe a 2nd and 3rd round pick might be the best that’s offered
And what exactly where is this "his best years behind him" coming from? 6th straight 100 catch season (only player in NFL history), just set the franchise record for receiving TD's (15 in 15 games), not to mention 1,300 yards all while being double and triple covered. But sure, his best days are behind him

We take the cap hit this year, not the team we trade him too ( I think ) After that AB plays for a very lower number. Which team would not want the best WR int he game for three seasons?

Send him packing to Jets or 49ers, Please. And do it before this clown get a roster bonus.

The Steelers might have more leverage than people think. A lot of teams if they don't get him or want him, also certainly don't want him in their division.
For instance I have heard that San Fran and Seattle might have interest, either one might offer more just to keep the other one from getting him. If the
Steelers play their cards right, they may get their best deal by playing multiple teams within a particular division against each other.

We'll get a good return for him. People that think otherwise are delusional. He's a top tier player at any offensive position and still in his prime.

And in the end if we don't like the offers we keep him and make him just another player. Have him abide by all the rules the rest of them do. If he doesn't fine him.

**** a 3rd....If That's the case I would not trade him...He can rot on the bench or at home for all I care....

Some team needs to say look you signed a contract. Play or go home...

HAVE SOME BALLS

Brown no matter what we feel is worth has become another distraction going into new year. We just got over Brown. Steelers need to move on and stroke the players that want to play and want to be in Pittsburgh

No, the Steelers have leverage because Brown is under contract and will count LESS against the salary cap if he’s NOT traded. If he refuses to play, like Bell, the Steelers start to save money and Brown starts to lose it.

The first thing I do is request Brown drop his roster bonus to afford the Steelers more time to trade him. I start acting like I’m not sure a trade will be easy and I’m certainly not willing to incur a cap hit for anything more than a late round draft pick.

That isn't true. If hes traded the Steelers will save 1 million on this years cap and his dead money will be gone next year.

For all we know, he could already be traded and the teams have agreed to not disclose until March 13th. If he is traded, it will be official March 13th, they have
a whole month, don't need more time.

I think it is more likely Steelers are going to do some face to face chats at combine with other NFL execs to try to get the best deal they can. They will field multiple offers and there will be some back and forth on both sides. Smart business is to take time here.

His salary off the books will offset the dead cap for this year.

I believe he still has 3 years of pro rated signing bonus left as well, @7 million per year. That will all be accelerated to this years cap if he's traded or cut, so that's 21million, but his 12.5 million salary or whatever it is and 2.5 million roster bonus(if traded before march 17) comes off as well, so that's 15 million. 21-15= a 6 million dollar cap hit the way I look at it.
