Aaron Rodgers is Back for 2026

I'm looking at it with my positivity shades on...

WR room is 1000% better and the OL, on paper, is better too.

Mix in our new RB combo with Uncle Rico touting da rock - they MIGHT BE better than expected...
Dean will bring an upgrade at corner a solid 1 2 pairing. Day is a terrific run defender an underrated signing. At S Brisker is an attractive thumper but I do prefer him in closer. Yeah Rico is inside an upgrade IMO. Pittman is an attractive try hard. No mess sort of like Yinz boy out of Bama who should look pretty in the slot. Or rotated with Pittman inside out. Schematically Graham really is an interesting hire he is known for being able to camouflage well and get the most out of a room. Plus they really defensively stock piled coaches well. McCarthy is known for being X and O capable. STs should have some weapons.

I want to go as far and say the majority comes with positives. The team has done well in adding youth and experience and not just experience but more importantly experience not on the downside of career experience. An important factor.

1 So perhaps a lot of implementing has the team slow out of the gates… maybe. Maybe not. There is enough coaches to focus in on making it a maybe not.

2 They did well with S but I wonder if there is enough there at FS. Easily my greatest concern. Perhaps they let Brisker and Ramsey battle it out but might not be the best position for either.

3. To a lesser extent I would like a vet WR signed. Just to fill out that 4th-5th-6th grey area of the roster.

Cmon man we never root for injury not a good approach.

I get you wanted youth I do.

I want that. I want to win now more.

And hey just because you start with option A doesn’t mean it ends with it. This isn’t the old coaching staff. If one QB develops and the other one declines it isn’t out of the realm that a change is made.

I want them to look hard at the room and develop and have them ready. I am prepared to give them the chance to do that.

For me I would have been upset if the coaches didn’t change. Now I give them a fighting chance to figure it out.

I am 110% rooting for Rodgers to get hurt, possibly 120-200%. I’ll cling to the hopes that maybe Broderick can tackle him properly this time…an inside path to my MVP this year.

The owner is too stupid to set a course.

We need a gigantic iceberg to course correct for the stupidity of the captain of the ship, sometimes if you’re very dumb (Art) it pays to be lucky (park the dinosaur).

Hope it happens early and is significant, season ending at a minimum so the games will become relevant toward building a future they are too short sighted to begin building.

I’ll honestly likey tune out after preseason until the dinosaur is relieved of QB1 duties by ANY means necessary.

Rodgers is just a wasted season, squarest of pegs they could possibly try to jam in the hole.

So how many playoff wins?
I’d easily predict zero even with the improved roster

I’m positive I’ll watch more Saturday football than Steelers football.

Can’t believe how many Steelers fans have gotten so complacent about an absolute non search to become competitive once again.

At least my Sundays opened up for something worthwhile and productive, that’s me being positive

What I'm hearing said here is that Roger's is a leftover Playskool peg leftover from the Tomlin era.

I could see one with a relatively injury free season.

Hell Brady won when he was on his last legs. Flacco won a SB. Ditto Dilfer, Brad Johnson,Foles.

I think perhaps your dislike for Aaron spearheads your perception. As if the team is proficient and plays together well there is enough talent to win something even if it is just one playoff game.

I hear you, but he had no other offers we had him over a barrel.

You have to assume that all parties in a negotiation are rational actors. In his case, it’s hard to net fifteen or so in a low risk way. This is still his best path forward.

Project 2027!!!! Whew.... Now we just have to hope this season kind of still falls apart and we get a good draft spot next year.

I'm telling you guys. No one on the QB roster matters. All four or them are just blips in our Steelers history. The next franchise QB for this team is playing in college right now.

Hope for losses? Never that.

This team has built a solid foundation. There is absolutely no reason they can’t trade up if so desired.

Now let's not get carried away. We don't win on the road on Thursday night in the division.

You’re thinking “old” regime, this is new Regime.

C’moN Mannnnnnnnnn.!!!

We know Allar isn’t ready. Then you had a 6th round try hard. He will get his training camp looks. But perhaps our wants don’t align with what they see at the position. They might have evaluated and saw the answer not in the room and Allar being a future possibility.

I am also excited to see them in preseason as one of them might be playing sooner than anticipated.

DK Sports alluded to the draft that the Steelers were NOT taking a QB in rnd 1. He also said that they would draft a QB not in rnd 1 that they felt had better ability than Howard does. They got Allar because he was there in the 3rd and MM wanted him. MM felt Allar had what he wanted to work with.

I’m just saying, don’t rule Allar out of beating Howard out in camp. Most think because he has been here a full season, that he (Howard) is the automatic. He was relegated to scout team, a death sentence for a rookie.

MM known as a QB guru, will sort and determine pecking order as anything is possible.

It’s fine. He won’t last the season and then Howard wil take over.

Not so sure they keep him now. The logical play was to start Rudolph on opening day and let him get as far as he can go, then Howard.

ARod signing signals they're still in "win (10 games and get blown out in the playoffs) now" mode, so I could totally see them keeping Mason as QB2, Allar as QB3 holding a clipboard all year.

Oh definitely a possibility it is just that working on his mechanics which they already are with Allar might take a little longer developmentally. I think Allar has some natural high end tools. It is just if and when they will show themselves. He definitely isn’t void of talent.. I like his size and arm strength and that he wasn’t an INT magnet. But yeah who is to say for sure the time frame. Sooner would be welcomed for sure.

Yay another season of watching a has been at the most important position in sports. Then we gave him a raise LOL. Awesome as long as we play bad teams. Can't believe anyone is actually excited about this

What? It would actually be a favor to Howard. I want to have a good idea if Allar is the future by the end of this year. The 27 draft may have a bunch of available QBs. The worst scenario is if you enter next year unsure about Allar or Howard because they split reps all year.

As an OSU and Howard fan, I agree with you, tape. Allar has the higher upside and he's MM's guy, there's no way they're running it back with ARod behind a rebuilt OL and then having zero experience behind him.

Then again, this team is run by the clown of the Rooney family, so you never know.

Based on comments from McCarthy I think Mason is a goner if the young pups show anything in preseason. Until we see them play, including Mason, it is all conjecture.

Cool. Trade Mason and let the young guys learn from one of the best to ever do it.

Rodgers isn't here to teach or mentor, otherwise he would have been here for the entire offseason the last two years. If they learn by osmosis it will be on them.

Excited? Probably no one. I am ok with it as I think both Allar and Howard need him to teach them and he seems willing. I prefer the patient approach to the young QBs versus the Browns approach. Ben was an outlier who made it through immense natural talent and good foundation around him. Neither Allar or Howard have Bens natural playmaking gifts and need to learn.

Disagree. He doesn't have to be here during OTA's with having McCarthy and a new staff to teach the kids. He is more valuable teaching when the bullets start flying in real games.

vs. playoff teams last year 1-5, 6 TD, 6 INT. Tougher schedule on paper his year, too.

Easier schedule by record this year. middle of the pack. Can't judge this year by last year when you have a totally new coaching staff. At least wait and see what the new scheme will look like.
