Aaron Rodgers is Back for 2026

Easier schedule by record this year. middle of the pack. Can't judge this year by last year when you have a totally new coaching staff. At least wait and see what the new scheme will look like.
Even then it is new , new can take a little time to blossom.

Which I am not sure this fan base will be patient enough to wait in the process of…

Yay another season of watching a has been at the most important position in sports. Then we gave him a raise LOL. Awesome as long as we play bad teams. Can't believe anyone is actually excited about this
And what would you have done differently that would had a higher percent chance of success?

Fans can't see the forest for the trees. 😉

Last season was the opportunity and that ship sailed. Now you have to wait and hopefully the future will reveal bright.

I think Mason will be gone even though he will probably be the best backup. Either way bringing Rodgers back is going to hurt the development of Howard and Allar. I think it will be tough for McCarthy to develop young QBs while also focusing on installing his system on the rest of the team. QB3 also gets very little reps. Film study and what not can only get you so far.

So much whining...

Some would prefer to not have a starting quality QB and lose a lot of games to 'finally get that QB of the future' draft pick. Seriously? How many of those 'sure thing' early 1st round QBs never won anything, including a single playoff game? Tons! Some have been great, a lot have not. No guaranties.

'But but but the Steelers are only resigning A-Aron to win now!' There is only 'now'.

One thing at a time. We have THANKFULLY moved on from the worst coach in NFL history and his crony loser staff. Next, we'll try to win something. If we do or don't the next step will be finding a new QB via FA, trade, or the draft. I really think the draft, given our history, is the least likely way we'll find our next QB. By their actions, I think the FO agrees with me, or I them.

Take heart! Be Steelers! No rooting for losses or injuries! Just win, baby!

Boys, I know everyone here is a loyal diehard Steeler fanatic and I love that about our fans.
I don’t mean to rain on anyone’s parade about the upcoming season but please think back to January and Rodger’s performance in that playoff game.
He got mauled in that game and I realize the Texans have a great defense but he looked every bit the 42 year old QB he is.
What’s going to change this year? Another year older and slower I just don’t see much success especially against a tougher schedule.

His weapons are better but the OL will see RT flip left, and a rookie at RT, maybe at LG, too.

OK, he is officially back. So, let's win something! If they are well back with a few games to play, they damn well better give Howard and Allar shots to play, so hopefully, one of them will get the real chance to be QB1 next year. Make it happen, Rooney!

Project 2027!!!! Whew.... Now we just have to hope this season kind of still falls apart and we get a good draft spot next year.

I'm telling you guys. No one on the QB roster matters. All four or them are just blips in our Steelers history. The next franchise QB for this team is playing in college right now.
This sounds great on paper in terms of getting a QB next year, I’m just really concerned if there’ll be any good QBs available. We’re really counting on a lot of guys making huge leaps forward.

How is loading up for 10 wins going to get them a QB next April? They'll be picking over scraps drafting in the early 20's.

Based on comments from McCarthy I think Mason is a goner if the young pups show anything in preseason. Until we see them play, including Mason, it is all conjecture.
exactly.

3 QBs to fight for 2 spots

Injuries happen

Rudy has put his game on tape over several seasons with several OCs on two different teams.

One red shirt QB with college success, one new draft pick with great tools.

At the end of August, this new coaching staff, with clear experience in upgrading the QBs at every stop, will make the call.

I don't really see the problem.

I'm very certain that McCarthy and the Steelers FO made this plan during the hiring process and now it is being executed.

For better or for worse.

nah. Howard could turn into a Jimmy Garapolo type while Allar could be Purdy.
Cutting Howard now when we all know the QB carousel gets spun up during the season is short sighted.

send Mason out. yesterday. finally.
Especially now that we got a QB guru here. Work some magic MIKE!!!🤪

1 playoff win is probably the ceiling for this team now and we are another year away from really even beginning to find the future QB with Howard and Allar sitting on the bench and getting limited reps-I’m almost more excited about watching these two play in the pre season than watching the regular season this year

We will need to draft a QB in round 1 next year as we learn very little about the young QBs we have now, unless of course Rooney does it all again and brings back Rodgers for a 3rd season 🤪
The real question will be....will Rodgers sign for 2027?🤔

I could see one with a relatively injury free season.

Hell Brady won when he was on his last legs. Flacco won a SB. Ditto Dilfer, Brad Johnson,Foles.

I think perhaps your dislike for Aaron spearheads your perception. As if the team is proficient and plays together well there is enough talent to win something even if it is just one playoff game.
Good post. I personally am hoping our new Offensive system....makes a difference in how I perceive Rodgers this season. He is here. So I will root for him. At least early on out of the gate I will. Get it done magic MIKE!!!!

I saw this floating around

At last something other than doom and gloom. Thanks for that.

This team has a lot of all around new on it ,staff on down. I think it can go either way.

I'm really happy with what they did for the OL. I'm not sure about the DL,but I suspect we will see a lot of scheme change and creativity.

Still, with new comes growing pains. I hope they're minor.
