A interesting situation next week

Rest no one... this team needs all the on field time they can get to get this bullshit out of their system

I see both sides of this, but I think being healthy is more important. At this point in the season, they don’t need the reps, they need to get right in their heads.

We must beat the Stains. I want them to feel pain on top of the pain they suffered today.

We must maintain a must win mentality at all times going into the playoffs.

Ahhh, I understand. In that case, the ideal situation is one that gets the Ravens the lowest possible seed to match up with the Bills and Chiefs. They are going to be a tough out.

that's my only concern. I wouldn't want the ravens in the fist round. They've been hot and steelers are cold. I'd rather play Miami, Tenn, or anybody. The 3 seed will play the 6 which is currently Balt, but they play Cincy and will need to win to secure the playoffs. I think they will win and move up to the 5 seed.

As an FYI for Week 17, there are no Thursday, Sat or Monday games. All games are Sunday and currently they have 13 games at 1 PM and only 3 games for 4 PM. I suspect a game that will be a "playoff" game will be move to 4, but the point is that teams like Balt, Cleve, Tenn, Miami will have to play hard and not just get in because somebody else lost before they take the field.

I played with the simulator....,...I think if Buff wins out and we lose to the Browns we will play them first round and Tenn would play Balt. To me that would be the best case for us.

**** that.

We don’t live in our fears

Obviously

We can unleash hell

Best case would be for Bills to lose tomorrow night. Bills to beat Dolphins next week, we beat browns, Ravens win, and Colts win. That gives us the 2 seed and we played Dolphins first round.

PLAY to win, **** the rest............... Rest players who when can.

Salute the nation

i get it, but at minimum I sit Ben and let him rest. Dude is 38 coming off major surgery and, thanks to the Rog, did not get a bye week. At most, play Ben a quarter and toss out the scripted plays BS.

That’s not likely

The only thing that matters, is that the Chiefs get a bye week for #1, everyone else plays.

You say that, right up until the moment ANOTHER player gets hurt and is done for the season.

I guess I meant best case as in most likely. I just dont see the Bills losing to the Pats. Cam has been pretty terrible

Exactly we have no idea how things shake out probably until the last game of the season.

Think I am leaning towards playing like it is business as usual. That number 2 seed can still be beneficial.

I agree to a degree. At what cost? Not having a bye and having a tough schedule the last couple weeks may actually be better for some guys to get an extra week to heal and regroup. To many scenarios at play. Take care of your teams first and let the chips fall where they will. It’s also a year where no team really has home field advantage besides not having to travel somewhere.

We'll see, it's a division game and Bills aren't some invincible team.

^THIS^

Home Field advantage is pretty much non-existent this year. I read somewhere - I think DKPS but not sure - that home teams barely have an edge over visiting teams in the W-L columns this year. Assume it is due to no fans. I been to preseason games, I been to regular season games and I been to playoff games. I swear to god the noise in the playoffs would drown out a rock concert and register over 7 on the Richter scale. This year, not so much.

What part?

I misspoke. I thought you were saying the Bills would need to lose both tomorrow AND next week. The scenario you proposed is plausible. I think we’re the weak link. If we sit starters, I don’t expect to win against a Browns team that needs the win.

so best I can tell the titans can miss the playoffs, but I dont think they can get the 7 seed, just 3,4,5 or 6.... there is one scenario where we play them as the 3/6
if we lose and the Ravens win we mostly will play the Browns as either the 2/7 or the 3/6 because most scenarios that put us in as the 2 makes them the 7, but we could play almost anyone in the group at 2/7 or 3/6

so Its most likely a rematch with the browns and least likely a rematch with the titans

I want to see names out there and be like... who?

Already got a dose of that today with #49 and #40.

As far as the playoff scenarios: If the Steelers beat the Browns, and the Colts take care of Jacksonville, I can't find a different result other than Pittsburgh playing either Miami or Indianapolis in the first round, no matter what Buffalo does in its last two games. And I'd be perfectly fine with that.

No bye on the second seed just gives you a playoff home game. So that would be in each game unless they played the Chiefs of course

Because of the lack of the bye week, the effed up Thankgiving ++ 3 games, etc. and the health questions surrounding Ben, JC, Pouncey, DJ, Bince, Haden, Spillane, etc. I sit all these guys and play a preseason week 17 game.

I would have Tomlin ensure that every single player on the team can only respond positively on SM, interviews, etc. by saying "Thanks for the season NFL and Commissioner Goodell", or something else sickeningly sappy so that all know its code for "**** You, Roger.....jagoff".

And I would spend the next 14 days removing all aspects of Fichtners last two games plans from any future use. Canada auditions in the week 17 preseason game, then either he or Ben opens the playoffs with a script of plays much like the mix we saw in the second half today. Fichtner can sit in the sidelines, making loud breathing noises into his mask, doing Darth Vader impressions.

You may have read it right here on Steeler Nation, where I posted the record after the results of last Saturday (week 15) of home teams being 104-106-1. They finished out last week 7-6 and are 8-6 so far this week, so the current record of home teams in 2020 is 119-118-1.

Unless it's Green Bay in a snowstorm, there is no discernable home field advantage this season.

maybe brother. may well be. I just don't recall but you posting numbers here is gold.

I start Rudolph and let him wing it. Fearful Fichctner ruined that guy last year, turned him into Captain Checkdown.

How sweet it would be for Rudolph to be the one that bounces the Browns and extends their post season drought. That would be sweet justice.
