I think it depends on the circumstances. I dont think any fans have any ill will toward Rod Woodson for leaving. I do not like Harrison, but he should retire a steeler. AB is a tough one and he had some amazing years here, but he screwed the team over with draft picks and attitude A-N-D don't forget the 22 million he stole as well. I really dont care if AB retires a steeler or not, but I would make him wait several year see if he gets his act together.

Just helping yaz along.!

All,

Please take note. Ditz substituted ill humor in place of his absence of a rebuttal to my statements regarding our current, mediocre receiving corp.

No way guys. All we need is a steady hand and consistency at the coaching position. F'n derrrrr

Would that hand be your's going up and down with your friends cheering you Zon

The very vast majority of Steelers fans would be ecstatic to have Brown retire a Steeler. The majority would welcome him back to play again.

And then there's a select few bitter and jaded individuals on this forum who think that they were dating AB and his leaving the Steelers was some type of betrayal.

No guys seriously. How could we ever trust him not to hurt us again? I say we just continue hoping that Dionte doesn't drop the ball as much this season.. F'n derrr

Being a legend in your own mind, it’s easy to see why you keep using majority as focal point. The fact is you are a majority of one.

As it stands right now, as his playing career is surely over, his name wouldn’t even be mentioned in the top 25. But to be totally fair, he may enter the conversation in the top 50…..maybe.
Zero rings, zero intelligence, and zero concern for anyone but himself.
Yeah, but look at all those awesome stats. The truly great players will tell you to wipe your arse with the individual hardware. The ONLY thing that matters is the championship…..the ring.
AB didn’t get the Lombardi, and I don’t think he gets the HOF ring either. If he does, it’ll be WAY down the line.
As far as your “the majority of Steeler fans….” comment, this board is made up of 99.99% Steeler fans.
Is it EVERY Steeler fan? No, not even close.
But it’s a great sample size.
Maybe, I don’t know, post a poll instead of a gossip column from a hack writer?
That way you could have a proper citation for all the derp sheep, ( insert retarded not funny play on someone’s handle here )?
Brown has a Lombardi, as a Buccaneer. But he wasn’t anything special. Had only 8 catches in three playoff games…….There are plenty of one hit wonders at the position whose done better.

Ohhh .. top 50, huh? Hmm.. interesting. SAY, did you happen to see this ERA adjusted fantasy rankings where Brown (and Bell for that matter) were ranked in the top 10 Steelers of all time? Please do tell us some other stories.

Brown was the most dominant workhorse fantasy wide receiver of his day, and he was a phenom in PPR leagues. To put his performance in this area into perspective, consider this: Brown was the No. 1 PPR scorer among wide receivers for four straight seasons from 2014-17. The only other receivers to equal that achievement are Jerry Rice (1993-96) and Marvin Harrison (1999-2002). Brown also placed second and fifth, respectively, in WR PPR points in 2013 and 2018 and thus easily outdistanced Buddy Dial (24 career points) for the second WR spot on this roster.

Uh? Hello? Last I checked AB did get a ring, fedderderrr (what a chode this guy is). Say, anymore bull$hit stories that you could share with us?

I didn't post this. The farmer did. And right about now he is looking pretty smart in comparison (and that's scary). No guys really. Watch me lie. F'n Derrr.

Well said and & drop MIC as you walk off the stage.

You realize that when he has his mouth full he can't read very well.

I could care less because he (brown) is going to be associated with the STEELERS forever. I can't stand the way he went out but also know our soft aZZ owner may allow it.

Salute the nation
So you admit that you care somewhat?

Farmer is thinking, "Huh? What's he mean"? Derp.

only a true ******** would bring up fantasy stats to support their argument
so he won a ring in TB...let him retire as a buc

not sure which part of the next statement confused you. This board (Steeler Nation) is made up of 99.99% Steeler fans. The total membership is no where close to being EVERY Steeler fan in the world. His point about this being a good sample size of the entire Steeler Nation has merit, your comment back to him is just ignorant

your schtick is getting tiresome.. all the derr and bahh comments just show your lack on intelligence.

you are a sad sad example of a troll

Brown should still be wearing the black and gold and looking to cement his status as a top 3 WR of all time. He chose to leave the way he did and while down the road I would be okay with him coming back for to Heinz Field alumni gatherings, right now is not appropriate. In the moment, I don't think he really regrets going out the way he did and this team has more important things to worry about than giving Brown a sendoff that he wants (even though some team will probably sign him at some point).

What do you base the following assertion on: "this is a good sample size of the entire Steeler Nation"? If this is nowhere close to being all the Steelers fans in the world, how did you come to the conclusion that this is a "good sample size"?

Please advise.

that was not the point on your initial attempt at belittling fed...but since your ignorance has been clearly pointed out you switch arguments

well this is a good sample size. you have a large group of posters from all over the U.S. and even a few other countries. men, women young and old, liberals, conservatives and everything in between plus a few ignorant trolls

Top 3? Several posts above fedderderr alleged that Brown wouldn't even be mentioned in the top 25.

A couple posts later, the moderator that is incapable of capitalizing and using punctuation (because he's too tired from working all day) suggested that this site is made up of 99.99% Steelers fans and is a good representation of the feelings of all Steeler nation. lol

damn your reading comprehension sucks

he said brown should be, but if you continue reading you realize his point is brown is not because of the issues he brings to the table.

if you doubt feds and my assertion regarding this being a good sample size please dispute it with either facts or at least some valid argument to try and disprove our claim, not just your lame childish insults

Apparently, you have problems with conjunctions...
"Brown should still be wearing the black and gold and looking to cement his status as a top 3 WR of all time."
Brown chose not to do that... leading to the assertion that Brown wouldn't even be mentioned in the top 25.
I know it's asking a lot... but do try to pay attention...

Fantasy adjusted era stats? Again with the IFs and BUTs and hypothetical scenarios. What color is the sky on Fantasy Island, Mr. Rourke?
Yeah, Antonio got him a ring with the Bucs. He was the star. The number 1 wideout there. Look at what a difference maker he was that SB year with his 40 catches for 450 yards reg season and 8 catches for 80 yards in 3 post season games, including a gaudy 5 catches for 20 yards in the SB.
I guess only broom pushers at the local plant passed reading comprehension? Again, please share your job title so I know where to tell illiterate simpletons handing out oranges on the freeway to apply. Do you think that EVERY single Steeler fan on the planet is on this board? Do ya, Skippy?
I didn’t say you posted this, but again, there’s that tricky reading comprehension thing preventing you from answering a single question asked of you.
Counting the seconds until your next inept grammar policing, question avoiding, redundant, kindergarten name calling post.
But please, I beg of you, give us some extra derps and sheeps with at least 3 calls for citations.
I used to wish people wouldn’t feed your trolling arse, but this has become fun sport watching how absolutely unintelligent you are, and how you actually have no logical thought provoking points to make. Just infant baby noises and pointing to animals on the Speak N Spell Wheel.
Keep it up, Skippy!

Hoe, you're the one here alleging that this is a good (and by "good", I assume you mean representative) sample of the fanbase? If that's what you are alleging, the burden of proof is on YOU to substantiate that brazen claim. It's not my responsibility to disprove a statement that is completely baseless to begin with.

If this is only a sample of the overall fanbase, yet you claim it's representative, you have the task of proving that it's representative. Telling me that the demographic here consists of old people, young, crazy leftists, and Republicans isn't "proof" of your claim. I would need to see verifiable citations, statistics, and preferably questionnaires, if available, to reasonably substantiate said allegation.

Are you calling him a garden tool (hoe) or a prostitute (ho)?
BTW, since this forum is called "Steelers Nation," isn't it a pretty good representation of "Steelers Nation??" I don't think anyone (prostitutes and garden implements included...) claimed it represented all of the Steelers' fanbase...

Just wanted to recap for anyone just tuning in and wanting the tl:dr version of what's went down:

1.) This ^ guy didn't know that AB had a ring.

2.) Same guy alleged that it's debatable that AB is a top 25 receiver.

3.) Claims that this forum is representative of the entire Steeler Nation. When asked to substantiate this allegation, (knowing that he's f'd and unable to) his pappy jumps in and tells me "you've got to take what we say at face value".

fedderderr's thought provoking rebuttal to me:
1.) Hey I'm mad that you police people's grammar.
2.) Hey I'm teary eyed that you make fun of my screen name.
3.) Hey despite being incorrect and/or caught in more than 1 lie, I'm going to call you unintelligent and say you have no logical thoughts.

I'll be sure to provide the cliff notes on his inevitable, future meltdowns, inaccuracies, lies, and contradictions.
