During his media availability today DJ seemed to nudge Canada under the bus as far as the offensive shortcomings this year.
Of course the playcalling did suck. But DJ should be a little honest with himself and admit that his end of the season dropsies didn't help either.
I wonder if this is the the start of the players speaking out against Canada in attempt to force the issue of his firing. If so, bring it on guys!

"We will see certain stuff out there ... and we just felt like certain stuff wasn't going our way at times, but at the end of the day, we can just do what the coaches tell us to do," Johnson said in a meeting with the media Monday. "Although we talk amongst each other about what we see out there, certain things weren't going our way like certain play calls, just wasn't getting what we wanted to get the offense going. And like I said, we could just do what we were told to do."

When Canada made Johnson drop the ball multiple times and made Ben throw terribly inaccurate passes multiple times...that was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. What's Ron Earhardt up to these days. USE A FULLBACK!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'm just amazed that a 18 year HOF QB is not allowed to change plays. Like they must have sat Ben down before the season and said, "Matt Canada is an offensive genius, we need you to just listen what he calls and run it. If you don't want to do that then we don't want you back." I wouldn't be surprised at all if it went something like that. It's really bizarre.

What's bizarre is on RPOs on 3rd and short where we could have just gotten the first and maintained possession Ben decided to go bombs away..like he always does. Ben gave the game to the Chiefs AFTER the D had played so well early..he just literally **** the bed, and **** on the defense. Dionte didn't help either.

Lot of blame to go around. Ben wasn't put in a position to succeed right out of the gates. And yeah his skills were declining.

And Claypool and Johnson were no help. The OL ... that horse has been beat to death.
You know who gave max effort other than the stars and up and coming stars? Zack Gentry. Loved his "compete" this year. And, he improved as a pass catcher.

I liked Moore's overall body of work too.

So we used a first to draft Santonio Holmes, who had the skills to be a top ten wr in the league but his off the field **** reached the point they traded him for a fifth round pick

They traded that pick to get a cb back off of the Cardinals and a sixth round pick, which they used on Antonio Brown, who in turn became the best wr in the league and an all decade nfl team member

Of course his off the field stuff forced them to deal him for a third… and they used that third on Dionte Johnson … DJ has a legacy to live up to

Fot several years now we have gone with ultra short passes and some deep perimeter shots… its a conservative passing game. They feared bens arm was going to misfire over the middle and cause picks. This was unjustified since we see what he does late in games when he is passing against pure pass d’s, but the staff definitely took tge ball out of his hands in the first half… run run pass with no oline blocking was suicide yesterday

Its a shame he had a couple drops yesterday because he really had improved there all year long… i think all these ypungvwrs just need a better wr coach than what they have… its all fundamentals and brain farts that are the problem the last two years

Jericho Cotchery for WR coach. He was the Asst. WR Coach in Carolina but Rhule didn't keep him onboard when he took over

Who says he wasn't allowed to change plays?
Ben has said all year that he can audible into a run maybe he doesn't have full control to be able to change a play. Just read DJ's quote. Clearly, he wasn't allowed to change too much and that is consistent with what Ben has said all year.

Butterfingers, catch the ******* ball first and stop assigning blame. That’s one of the biggest issues this team has from Tomlin down to a lot of these players. Lack of accountability!

Coach Tolin sitting on his ******* at home looking at this on his I-pad

"what is this accountability you are talking about"

You sure hate some Ben and love some college journeyman uproven OC. Not sure if you're actually defending a position or just trolling people for attention...but as was said you have no idea that Ben audibled out of plays last night

What we do know is Ben's going to Canton on the first ballot and Canada directs the worst running game in the NFL and an offense that has averaged less than 6 points in the first half for the last 1/3 of a season, I sure know who I think deserves blame

I don't hate Ben bro. He should have just retired 3 years ago for the benefit of the team he claims to love so much, but Ben is always about Ben.

Whether it's milking the last dollar he can out of Rooney or 3rd and 2, selfishness is always the main factor.

Bro how long have you been around football? This season your first?

You can see Ben after they line up look over the defense then lean over to Najee and tell him whether it's pass or run. At home you'll just see him turn and tell him, on the road he will go over to him or vice versa because of the noise.

There was a road game this year where he went over and Big Dummy forgot to put his hand over his facemask with the camera zoomed in and you could clearly see him yelling "Pass.. Pass!"

Jesus ..kids on the net...
