More Positive Tests for Ravens on Thursday

ravens should be fined min 100K titand should of been if they were not.

There has never been a forfeit in the history of the league I doubt they start now.

I don’t know where this talk of forfeits comes from. Is that the kind of win we want/need?

As much as I hate this, it’s the right decision. If we’d played today as scheduled, we risk infecting Steeler players, which could affect their availability going forward. The same applies on Sunday, if Ravens continue to test positive, it would be irresponsible to let the game go forward.

There’s a difference between postponing the game because the Ravens can’t field a team, and postponing it because there is a risk of contaminating additional players.

This sucks, but so does the pandemic. No one ever said life was fair.

It's a bye with a W!!!!

If we have to play a week 18 game they should push back the playoffs by a week, that way if we win the top seed we still get the next week off. It also gives time to maybe further quarantine the playoff teams and maybe bubble them.

And you guys wanna line up on the same field with an infected team?

Ravens discipline coach for not reporting symptoms, consistently wearing mask and tracker

The Baltimore Ravens might be able to point the finger at one man for all their COVID-19 troubles this week. After the Ravens put three more players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday and saw their Week 12 game get postponed until Sunday, Baltimore announced they had disciplined a coach for conduct related to the cases.

As it turns out, Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the culprit was a strength and conditioning coach who failed to report his symptoms and wasn’t consistently wearing a mask or tracking device.

That would be about as egregious a failure to follow the NFL’s protocols as the league has seen this season, and it’s an issue that the NFL could look to discipline Baltimore over. Pelissero noted that by proactively disciplining the coach, the Ravens could either reduce or avoid potential punishment from the NFL over the matter. For breaking protocols earlier this season, the Tennessee Titans were fined $350,000 but did not have to forfeit any draft picks, per Erik Bacharach of the Tennessean.

Baltimore has placed a total of nine players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list this year. Several staff members also have tested positive for the coronavirus.

If we have to play this game in week 18, the players who were unavailable on the date the game was scheduled should be ineligible to play. You can’t let them gain a competitive advantage.

Whatever happens, the Ravens must be held accountable and I don't mean a simple 6 figure fine. Taking action against the strength and conditioning coach means nothing, he is one person on every team's staff that is most likely to consistently come in direct contact with every player. Organizations know this and it's the head of the team's responsibility to ensure protocols are followed. The buck stops at the top.

It doesn't matter who they have on the field, as long as LJ is playing, he will crumble. He knows we don't fear him, and that scares him...

The Raiders, Titans, and Steelers got the book thrown at them. After which the league sent a letter...nay....a stern letter to teams saying failure to follow protocols would result in punishment..nay...severe punishment. The NFL has not choice but throw a bigger book at Baltimore than they did the Raiders (who were hit worst of all).

then again, it stops at the top and the top is an *******. (hell, me typing that proly just got James H another drug test letter).

They should be pissed. How many games have been moved or postponed? NE played without their best players. SF had a outbreak still played that Thursday. Cleveland played without their best players.

Every team has played no matter who tested positive. The only 2 teams that haven’t? The 2 that were prime time games for the Steelers. The NFL is making different decisions in regards to the Steelers games than they are with other games.

Ah for ***** sake. Ok the way this can work for the Steelers is that they are in essence gaining back their mid season bye. Now if you can clinch your playoff spot to the point where you do not need those last two games you can build your own bye week in 18 anyhow by resting the troops.

If all of these players that have tested positive had been injured in practice or in game situations the Ravens would be replacing them with the practice squad or signing free agents.

Practice squad players can be activated immediately. However, any free agent signing has to go through 10-14 day isolation protocol. That is what caused the Titans outbreak. They signed a FA DB and let him conjugate with the other players before his testing was completed.

thry only have gus edwards and lamar to run we force lamar to be apocket qb we win and campbell is out helps us run and for the love of GOd use the I set with Watt

At the moment it appears that the only consequence the Ravens face is making the playoffs as the last seed.

Total BS to move the game to week 18, if they don't play Sunday, forfeit. Do your damn job Roger.

He’s doing his job.
To **** over the Steelers

The nfl apparently has a double standard for teams.

The only thing that I'm worried about is losing that first round bye. That should not even be in the equation!
