By Justin McGonigle www.SteelerNation.com While the Pittsburgh Steelers Baltimore Ravens primetime Thanksgiving night game has already been moved to Sunday afternoon, that could now be in jeopardy. It’s being reported Thursday morning that the Ravens again had multiple positive coronavirus tests this morning. The league had hoped to have the spread under control by Friday […]

Holy ****. **** the ravens already! If they can't field a team on Sunday, **** 'em. Forfeit.

If they move this game which will only benefit a team that has already shown they do not follow protocol and has publicly punished a staff member for their negligence.

If all of these players that have tested positive had been injured in practice or in game situations the Ravens would be replacing them with the practice squad or signing free agents.
How or why should this affect things any differently. PLAY the ******* GAME or Forfeit with heavy fines being issued, draft picks taken away and any revenue loss being recovered from the Ravens.

It would look bad if the ravens incompetence led to us or Kc and the nfc top seed losing the bye while adding a Eighth playoff spot that would benefit the Ravens.... who are already on the outside looking in at #8 in the conference...

FORFEIT....FORFEIT......FORFEIT..... if this was a playoff game, make it happen, but its just a regular season game....they took responsibility by scapegoating the staffer.

This sucks.
But if they have positive tests today, they could Friday and Saturday. The ones that don't test positive (yet) could end up playing and infecting the Steelers.

Perhaps kick this game to the inevitable week 18. Hopefully our seed will be locked up by then, and this is the game that means nothing.

Absolutely not.... if week 18 happens 8 playoff teams per conference get in... if that happens the Ravens likely make it... the Ravens should not be rewarded for obviously breaking protocol...

There has never been a forfeit in the history of the league I doubt they start now.

The Rats should heavily fined and lose picks.

Moving this to week 18 ***** the Steelers at least 4 ways:
- loss of Thanksgiving nite home game
- loss of first seed bye....there is almost no reason for the rest of the schedule
- a meaningless game tacked onto the end of the schedule which only induces negatives for the Steelers
- the ruining of what was evolving to be a magical year for the NFL's best franchise.

Lets not even pretend that the NFL cares about Steeler Nation or Steeler fans....

Ivwish they just would have played the damn game tonight...They didn’t bubble up like they ought to have, so its almost inevitable that the Steelers will have an outbreak and the two most likely infection points are thanksgiving and Christmas, so I just think that ppaying on thanksgiving minimized the chance of getting it, even if they played a totally infected team.

Cross contamination on the field actually is fairly rare comparatively...

How about this... A contingency week 18.... if other games force a week 18 we play them, otherwise its a forfeit on their end... they dont get rewarded for being dumb...
with a week 18, the Steelers could be 12-3 or better,, with the division clinched, home field, etc and then the Steelers should forfeit the last Rat game.....

Well, if they cancel it tomorrow, Tomlin can still give the team a mini bye till next Wednesday. Still sucks. And there's no way the league should allow the Ravens to gain a playoff spot by their own incompetence. But ol Raj will let it happen.

You know that week 18 is coming. The NFL wants it and the extra playoff game. This is a perfect time to pull it and **** us over AGAIN. We should get atleast a 5th round pick from the ravens and 2 mil in cap coverage, that is how this should work.

Biscotti is probably figuring out how he can get the Jets to drop Bert so the Rats can pick him up to hope for another PI fueled playoff run.....

The Ravens broke protocol and apparently broke it big time with community spread going on through the locker room. Anything other than a forfeit (and I was really looking forward to this game) is a reward for them. Confluence already hit on some ideas but I’ll add on.

1. It gives them time to get healthy. On the surface this shouldn’t be a problem but it is since they broke protocol.
2. It likely leads to 8 playoff teams. They are on the outside looking in and don’t deserve a free playoff spot because they broke the rules.
3. No incentive for another team to not break protocol (other than not being idiots and trying to stay healthy).

For the Steelers:
1. It gives them another fake bye week if we don’t play this week, but every other playoff team would get a free bye to rest up while the Steelers would have to play. Maybe they have the top seed locked up and they can sit guys...well they can’t sit 22 starters so it’s not ideal. Maybe they have to play to get the top seed and every starter has to play.
2. If the playoffs are expanded it automatically becomes a competitive disadvantage because of the previously mentioned bye week for all other playoff teams.
3. It was agreed on, but guys are gonna miss those game checks if the game is a forfeit.

Bottom line is the NFL had a really dumb plan in place if this situation came up and I have zero confidence they’ll handle things right. Maybe they’ll surprise me.

Unfortunately, the entire season is now becoming more and more of a pipe dream....

Im concerned...This is only the beginning of the end...

I think so too. Playoffs will be a nightmare dealing with this **** cause there’s no delaying games at that point.

I miss the days when football was about football. Those days are longgg gone.

Here is the statement I would like to hear today, at noon, from Goodell:

"In return for being the admitted cause of this game rescheduling, the Baltimore Ravens have agreed, in advance, that they will not accept either the seventh or eighth seeding in this year's playoffs. The NFL has accepted this and will award that playoff spot to the next seeded team at the end of the season. Further, the Ravens have also agreed, in case this week's game is delayed past Sunday, that they will forfeit the game unless it has a meaningful bearing on the Steelers' playoff seeding, at the option of the Pittsburgh Steelers."

playoffs should be designated to a bubble ala nba

We can't add FAs because they have to clear 5 day protocol. I think the league has to make a choice now, and that is losing 2 thursday games. We can definitely get this game off by Tuesday. If we have to go Mon or Tue, the Thu Ravens game next week must be postponned until Sunday.

Steelers should get some games flexed for losing a prime time game. The Colts/Pit game is the best option at this point.

The rules are written, ravens didn't take it seriously and the strength and conditioning coach thought his selfish life was more important than his team and the league. That is how virulent this disease is. One cromag dumbfuck can **** the league. He's fired for sure. But the Steelers would clearly earn a forfeit over moving one game to 18.

The league has been doing an excellent job being a non bubble league. Only 3 games have been affected, and Steelers have had the bad luck of being the involved in 2 of them. Honestly, I believe the league now owes us a comp pick for this clusterfuck.

Titans ****** up, and now the ravens. That is both weeks where the Steelers had extended time to spend with family, and poof, they are both up in smoke. Thank you for your service...

The only positive, is Tomlin is going to utilize this as a rally point to bring this band of brothers, who have already been tight, even tighter. The league is against you, go and show em how Pittsburgh reacts to adversity. All they have is each other now since family is being marginalized for this team this year.
