Using Walter football's latest mock draft, create one for the Steelers.

It would be tempting if they gave us their #1 at 12 and one of the 4th round picks.

How about Devin Bush at 20 and Mack Wilson at 52?

1 Byron Murphy, CB , Washington. I like Burns (OLB) too from what was available, but I think Murphy will be a solid cover cornerback in the NFL. Arguably one of the biggest Steelers weaknesses. I still resign Sens and let them battle for the early start.

2 Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina. Even with Antonio, Washington brings question marks. And without AB, you will need two bodies.I think Deebo's best football is ahead of him. Some could argue he will be gone top of two. Bottom 1. Simply gives Ben another weapon. (Also I am not sold on Mack Wilson ILB)

3 : Devin Bush, LB, Michigan - A playmaker, with Burnett wanting out I upgrade the position. I stayed away from FS as I think the Steelers like Davis there. With the heavy S packages the Steelers use this pick doesn't prevent the Steelers from bringing in a ILBer.

Ok I swap out Bush for Caleb Wilson, TE , UCLA . I doubt the Steelers resign both UFA TE's. Plus he gives the Steelers a safety net if McDonald gets the injury bug again.

1. Clelin Ferrell, OLB/DE, Clemson
2. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, DB, Florida
3. Oshane Ximines, OLB, Old Dominion

I keep going back n forth on Wilson. Last year I was wrong about back brace LVE, so I am trying not to rule out LBers. Watched some tape on Wilson yesterday and liked what I saw. I have been back n forth on him. But round 2 there will be question marks regardless. So it is just what is the least concern. He doesn't look like a bust, so it could be a solid choice even if he doesn't star.

Seems like he is a cancer in the locker room though.

That's partly because Tomlin allowed him to be on. It built up over time With a new head coach and new team, Brown won't be as much as a Diva...as long as he gets the football enough. Like I said, Green Bay should rebound and have a better season IF their GM addresses their needs.

Terrell Owens is a comperable comparison and as you know he is out of football but still does near everything he can think of to garner attention. The point I'm making is just because AB happens to go GreenBay doesn't mean he suddenly stops his social media BS meMEme stuff. Yes, different coach, different team mates but give him a 1/2 season and he will start to revert back to what he LOVES the most......himself. I truly think he is damaged from head trauma and NOT the AB of past, pre-burfdefect.

Salute the nation

Vander Esch was my top choice among players that would be selected near our pick.

On Mack Wilson, you have to like his all-around production, HOWEVER, playing linebacker on Alabama with that monster defensive line in front of him means whatever deficiency he might have could have been masked. Can he shed blocks well?

Right now zone coverage looks to be his strong point. Top anticipation and good hands to make the interception. Seems to lock on the ball carrier and tackle well too.

If Wilson runs a 4.65 or better, he should go in round one. Why do I think a team like New England will pick him :(

Nick Saban said something interesting when asked why do Alabama players do well in the NFL. His reply, they practice against top competition every week.

Do I think Wilson is worth our pick at #20? Yes, but only with a good workout.

In terms of Diva, Owens > Brown. Here's the thing on Brown he's a pain in the ***,a distraction and lousy teammate. Maybe a jealous type too, BUT his work ethic and football character on games is excellent. If he goes to a team with a good QB that lacks a star receiver, his goal will be to say see I told you so and work as hard as possible, so no I do not think he will be as much as a diva for his 1st season. He's signed at a cap friendly rate too.

I was reading about a different scenario not expected that makes sense too. Will he be there at 20 though, doubt it.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers — TE Noah Fant, Iowa
I know, please, do not kill me for selecting a TE here, I will explain. For one, with Antonio Brown theoretically gone here, the Steelers have a few options here. They can get a WR to replace Antonio Brown, or there is another option, and they can get a receiving Tight End who can pair with Vance McDonald and be a nasty mismatch.

In comes Noah Fant, who is just a ridiculously good Tight End. Not only can he block pretty well, but the man moves and runs routes like a receiver. He can work in-line, out in the slot, or outside. That gives OC Randy Fichtner a myriad of new options for his offense and packages. Just check out how good Fant moves here anyways.

LOL, we can trade him, isn't that what Oakland did with Gruden?

Yep, Oakland did that a few years back. You sure can trade a coach, for that matter there was talk earlier late in the season that the Ravens may consider trading John Harbaugh if they didn't extend him since he had only had one year remaining on his contract.

Not a Tight End in round one. McDonald is good, and James reliable when called upon. We have major needs. Tight End is not one of them.

I don't know. If Ben was pissed off because he was running the wrong routes in practice, I don't know that Rogers would be more forgiving.

I think he would. Rodgers is always off script. It seems half his throws are him holding the ball and looking for big plays. He plays like Ben did under Arians.

McCarthey tried to get him to play within an offense and Rodgers complained and got him fired.

AB would be a great fit with GB.

I’d be surprised if San Fran traded for AB. That Shanahan offense is about precision. I’m not sure they would want to build the offense around a guy who likes to freelance.

Didn't seem AB was much of a problem in 2018, until last week of the season? I think Cowher might have hit nail on the head, when he said many Steelers
were frustrated going into last week because playoffs were out of the Steelers hands.

TE isn't a first round need, but currently they really only have frequently injured McDonald signed for 2019. James and Grimble are very likely gone.
Could be a likely free agency pick-up position.

1 DT/DE Dextor Lawrence too good to pass you can run effectively 3 formations 3-4, 4-4 and 4-2-5 as your nickel.
2 ILB Devin Bush
3 CB Joejuan Williams,

Chase Zaduiruis Webb and Pernell Mcphee to upgrade pass rush, and PJ Williams to start opposite of Haden.

Can't take Devin Bush in the 2nd, he is gone at #26.

Pernell McPhee? Are you drunk?

Yeah, I liked him too at 28, but would not have traded up to 18 to be able to select him. That would basically have cost the Steelers 2nd round pick to move up those 10 spots.

I absolutely would've made that deal

I cant imagine that is all it would have cost.

Steelers attempted to move up. They couldn't find a partner.

James and Grimble are FAs next year, so picking up a TE early in the draft is a possibility. Ravens got 2 last year when they already had one, and now Maxx is a FA...

I picked one in the third.

Would you rather have Vander Esh, who looks like a multiple pro bowl type of guy at our weakest position, or Edmunds and Washington? I'm not so sure it would have cost a 2nd to move up 10 spots. Maybe if they get our 2nd, we get their 5th.

we'll resign James and bring in an UDFA.

Yeah Supe, Jesse appears to only do interviews with PennLive (Penn State connection) and he’s always showing preference to staying in Pitt. Grimble, I thought is a RFA....so he will get a tender.
