Which prospect is short with small hands?

Which small school prospect is standing out?

And most importantly how are the players at the positons the Steelers need performing?

Post all that stuff and more in this thread.

Who are you salivating over this year coach?

Who are you salivating over this year coach?

A good question.

OLB Josh Allen. I think he's going to be a pro bowl player, maybe even one on Von Miller's level. And yes I have seen him play. If he rips the OL men to pieces at the senior bowl, he could be the 1st overall pick. I'd trade AB for pick #2 for him right now! I love Allen's game, and he's a three-way player, very good in coverage too. With him and Watt, the two could get 25 sacks between them.

I do not think this draft is anything but average, but there is good talent on the defensive side, and that's what we need.

I have cooled on Alabama's ILB Mack Wilson. I'm warming up to Michigan's Devon Bush. Okay, he's only 5'11, but his production vs. the run and at the pass intrigues me. If he runs well, he could be a poor man' Zach Thomas, and that would greatly upgrade our defense. I'd love him in round two if we don't pick ILB in round one.

Every year there is a debate on how much the combine and pro days matter. Unless the player looks like a stud and makes lots of plays vs. quality competition on film, to me heck yes they matter. So my views change as more information comes in.

I wish I could access wonderlic reports ( not a fan of low scoring players ), and have better visibility to injuries and character red flags.

Which Prospect's head is too large?

Ha ha. Ed Oliver's of course. He's won't come close to 6'3" tall 290 pounds, and has already shown some diva in him. I also think his arms are on the shorter side too. We shall see what the tape and scales say.

You might be the only person evaluating Oliver that thinks he is overrated. I am sure, much like Polamalu, you will be woefully wrong again.

He's starting to fall out of the top ten at NFL draft sites. I never said he sucked, I just don't see the hype. I think people overrate him based on media hype. I'm conformable in my own evaluation and prefer to be alone, as it will make the hindsight sweeter. If by chance I'm wrong and Oliver turns out to be a pro bowl player it will show I can go out on a limb.

Oliver is an undersized DT who is average at best as a pass rusher. What NFL team wants that? His sacks this year can against two very bad teams. And if he plays at 275 pounds as the Houston staff says he did, good luck vs 315 pound NFL Guards and Centers. But he's not in any senior bowl or bowl games, so let's leave him out if this thread from here on in.

I said Troy wasn't very good as a rookie. The big head comment was factually and really had to do it is a bigger part of his stature than most. My point, if I can remember way back was he's a shorter guy, and his shoulders for a guy 5'10" tall are below most others of the same height. Something close to that. I never called him a bust, and by the way, loved the Ike Taylor pick. The rookies I called a bust was Jarvis Jones and Ziggy Hood. 2 for 2 there.

you are a ******* idiot to continually beat the diva drum on Oliver. All you know about him is the 30 seconds of sideline video...******* twatwaffle

IDK Coach, living here in Houston I’ve seen him play a bunch and think he’s a hell of a player and wouldn’t mind him in black n gold whatsoever.
The diva thing not sure where you’re getting that. Yeah he did have a bad moment with Applewhite but that’s all I’ve ever seen.

and that is where the douchebag is getting the diva impression. Three years and U of H and not a damn thing ever came up like that.

coach uses a game and a half of film to decide what type of player Oliver is. And he did evaluate the plays he did see accurately anyway. If I hadn't been on here pimping Oliver, coach would not have ever seen him play a down.

and it is kinda hard for him to be at the Senior Bowl when he left U of H after his true Junior year....

saw Wes Hills play, although it was vs Clarion, he's a smooth runner, like he's gliding, looks like he's not going very fast but no one could catch him.

Cool it man. I said he’s not in the senior bowl or any bowl game for that matter.

Also stop lying. I’ve seen him play far you’re giving me credit for.

We all saw Ed get emotional when they asked him to take off the jacket and cry about things later. I actually preferred your comments about that small and slow receiver trying to stay on the Steelers roster. At least that was sort of funny. I didn’t think much of him and neither did the Steelers.

I question his speed and want to see his combine numbers. I am wondering if he will be a liability in coverage and was beat enough to wonder.

The next time the Steelers draft a ILBer you would like to see them coverage sound. Not saying pass, but I might be if his overall numbers look poor.

bush is like the same height as Shazier

again, how could he be at the Senior Bowl when he is just a Junior?

The Steelers thought enough of him to want to keep him around on the practice squad...he decided not to sign....

crying on the sideline is not a "diva" move, many many great athletes get emotional on the sideline when their season is over earlier than they would have liked.

you are making a mountain out of a mole hill over the jacket issue and trying to disparage what from all accounts is a good kid. And no, you have not seen much of Oliver's game and the analysis you posted was garbage.

So basically you didn't like Troy's Head & Shoulders... Turrrum tsss

Where did I say he should be in the senior bowl? I said he skipped his bowl game.

By the way, look for Oliver's stock to drop. Neither man at CBS has him in there top ten

He's not in Walter Football's top ten mock draft either.

How in the heck is this happening for a guy the " media " felt was a top three pick! Sure, my analysis was garbage. :pound:Just wait until scouting reports say what I said long ago.

Let's wait for the combine to see if little Ed measures up. 6'3" tall he is not!

you mentioned the senior bowl twice in this thread.

the combine will decide where he goes.

His knee injury and the missed games has taken some luster from his status. Just like I said prior to the season, he had to stay healthy.....

but for some reason Bosa has ends his season early and no one cares. Oliver at least tried to come back for his school

Aaron Donald is only 6ft and is the most dominant defensive player in football..

This is a senior bowl thread, and it is being hijacked! Oliver was NOT a pass rusher and was pushed around vs. guys who won't sniff an NFL camp. Open your eyes, you're a homer.

How do you feel now that we are getting closer to the draft and mock draft sites which are mostly parrot types are finally catching up and sliding Oliver into their non-top ten spots?

That 6'3" 290 pounds nonsense was a " Houston " measurement. We'll see how tall and heavy he is. Like I said he's a 4-3 three-technique type, not a 3-4 NT, 3-4 End, or 4-3. Anything but a wide nine type. I expect him to do well in agility and speed drills. I said he moves like a MLB. I'm also guessing he's 6'2" or shorter, and if the Houston coaches were honest under 282 pounds. Arms under 33 inches which would be short. I do not think he's got a strong core to make up for his lack of size, and a bench press won't necessarily show you that. I say that because he's pushed around too much and spends too much time on the ground.

As for his knee, he came back and played with it, then shut it down when he wasn't doing as well as he thought. Bosa had a good 2nd season, beating better competition.

No one has ever hyped Oliver as a NFL NT.....NO ONE

you mentioned twice that Oliver was not at the Senior Bowl...implying he was eligible to be there but skipped it

wow a college added an inch or so and a few pounds to a player...that never happens.....

as for the thread highjacking, I didn't bring him up......some asshat did

Your Oliver BS will be laid out for all to see later on April 27. Plus Coolie schools you on every single piece of your negativity about him, so watching you shorten your own noose is amusing.

And I believe, more accurately, you said Polamalu won’t make it in the NFL because of your explanation regarding his size and body type, including his head circumference. You also at the time said you didn’t like the pick, that Cowher gave up too much for him and wasted valuable picks.

You say he isn’t a bust? Ok, how about answer the question you always dodge.....Is Polamalu a Hall of Famer?

And to call Hood a bust shows you don’t know what a bust is. He’s had a 10 year career with 70+ starts. At least half of them in Pitt. Jones would be classified as a bust for sure. Way to go out on a limb.

I don’t mind you Being wrong often but stop lying about what I said. Coolie is going to lose and by putting so much hope into our wager you’ll come out a loser too

Yes Troy is s hall of fame player. Bet your dark shades on that!

Stop! You told us multiple times he’s playing nose tackle. I see him as a 4-3 DT only. I have said before it’s too bad Oliver won’t play in any of the college all star games. I never said he’s skipping the senior bowl. Man you have a Lying issue.

I did say he bolted from his bowl game coming back from the injury after playing.

Houston’s measurements and weights will be embarrassing!

What do you think of those recent mock drafts :). Oliver not in the top ten!
