Ben played well

They left Jax with 5 seconds on the clock by doing it Tomlin's way. Would have been more without Conner's drop and the P.I. penalties. Would have been waaay more doing it Romo's way. Tomlin's way worked out just fine. Romo may have been correct, but Tomlin was right. More than one way to skin a cat (pun intended).

Hindsight is always 20/20. Just because it worked out does not make it correct or good clock management.
 
The offense played awful for three quarters and the defense held them enough times to keep us in it. We had no business winning that game, but they didn't put it away when they had the chances.

This game had nothing to do with overlooking Jacksonville or playing down to the competition. It was about a team that always matches up well against the Steelers and against a team that Ben always turns into a turnover machine.

Once again, put me done as a nay sayer.

I'm sayin' Ben is showing age....He started slow to start the season, he plays worse coming off a bye than he does a short week and now he gets 5 days off without practice and 9 days between games and he ***** the bed for more than half a game before he warms up.

Anybody that thinks he can play into his 40's is being very optimistic. I say one more max, that is if he can stay healthy. Lot of hits on that body especially when he has to run through both teams to get to the endzone. I'm not denying his skills, just his longevity.
 
Big time props to the defense. They kept us in it and made some great three and outs in the fourth to give us the ball. Defense was the hero today in my take. Fourth quarter Ben and Juju was a happy sight, but the D was ballin’ today.

Yep. But as I pointed out, if they had done it Romo's way, they would have possibly left way more time on the clock. Just because a decision is unconventional doesn't make it wrong. To quote our HCMT, "I'm a results oriented individual."

What? The first TD was a busted play on the inside. I didn't see much difference at all from inside to outside from the first half to the second. McDonald's TD was middle. Only when time became an issue on that last drive did they start going outside. I'd hardly call that "attacking the ouside CBs on the 4th Qtr scores".

Also Jax turtled the ball in the 4th Qtr. The steelers stacked the line which is what anybody does in that situation. What else were they going to do? Play a dime?

Also the coaches let Ben run the offense on the last drive. That's the best thing they can do. Just get out of the way and let Ben handle it. Yea, he wasn't great today but you aren't winning without him. How many people wanted to pull him for Dobbs? Yea, put Dobbs in and take the L to go with it.
 
Isn't the way we won todays game sorta the way the Pats sometimes win?

They looked out of it. The other team seems have control most of the game...then boom! ...next thing you know the Pats won the damn game!

THREE interceptions and you say he played well (he did eventually) and have the idiotic idea something wasnthe coaches fault? Offense ****** the D time and again in the first half. Inthink 5he graphics for the first 5 or 6 possessions we had the ball a maximum of 2 min. D had to be ******* gassed.

Ben's rating in the first half was 10.1. TEN POINT ONE.

You say the coaches NEVER adjust. When they do, it wasn't soon enough. Could you, possibly, believe fornette is pretty damn good? Jax was 2-0 when he was in earlier in the season. Hyde is no slouch for a backup and yeldon is, probably, better than most teams 3rd string back.

They finally gave up that TD on a long drive, but you had to expect it at some point when the O is sucking ***. Im not used to the D keeping us in the game enough for us to win it.

I have no problems with the coaching decisions today. J-ville was playing for their SB and it showed.

Ben and WRs were sloppy early and on the money late.

D is not the D of last year, and I am telling you that is very significant at this stage in the season.
 
He did NOT play well, but he did play well enough in the last quarter to win. The rest of the Offense played like *** for 3/4 of the game too.

You're absolutely right. Those big plays to JuJu came over the middle. They surely didn't come outside and down the left sideline. Nope.
I also don't remember calling for Dobbs. So, that's irrelevant to anything I post.
As for Jax turtling the ball. You still have to stop it; and the D did that wonderfully. And when they did have to pass, the D was all over it for the most part.
Good win and the Defense played a helluva game and a big part in this win.
We can agree to disagree.

We were lining up to stop the run in the first half too, and couldn't do it.

Everyone in the stadium and watching tv knew that jax couldn't protect Bortles if they had to throw. We still couldn't stop the run. Then we did. And did again and again and again. I don't kn9wnitlf it is was something said in the locker room at half or the players just started executing.

Either way, jax had 140 yards rushing in the 1st half and ended the game with 179 or so. They shut that **** down, forced jax to have to throw some and put up quite a few sacks.
