Did Ben not lead us to what, 20 fourth quarter points and a win? Who gives a **** he threw 3 INTs.

As with any QB, but the good far out weighs the bad, unfortunately alot of fans make it sound as if it's 50/50.He did do that, but let’s not forget he played like *** too for almost 3/4 of the game.
With Ben you have to take the good with the bad.
The Jags have always given the Steelers problems all the way back to Cowher. I think Fred Taylor still holds the record of most rushing yards against them with like 217 or some crazy number.
One other thing to think about, Through all their troubles I strongly feel the Jags have a SB caliber D, and a pro bowl caliber RB.
I don't think any other team can lay that combination claim.
And with the Jags doubtful for the playoffs that O simply won't face another D as good as Jacksonville's.
If I took the time to think it through on his top 10 list with the team, I’m not sure where I’d put it, but it would be there.
I cannot recall a game where he maintained his poise so well while things were going so poorly.
For all the big plays and comebacks and perfect passer rating/500 yard/6 TD games - I can’t recall a game where his will carried the offense like yesterday.

I'm with you there FSF, Usually when Ben is down by multiple scores late in a bad game, he's already in quicksand, and just can't mount a comeback. This is an instance where the team was down by multiple scores and Ben is the biggest reason for the comeback. I remember the Dallas game getting stopped on 4th and goal entering the 4th QTR, and came back to win with a Townsend pick 6. That was a team comeback. This was a Ben comeback.
I'm surprised to see it, I threw my beer can twice in that 4th QTR. One on the failed conversion, and once when the ball was intercepted late on the pass to Switzer. I didn't know he got decapitated, and fortunately the refs saw it. We got the calls today boys...
Announcer said it was the first game with the full complement of DBs, too.
I remember Cowher fake punching that Jag running down the sidelines after a blocked kick...
Crazy how that works. Entirely different team, coach. etc... beating the Jags has always been a struggle for this franchise.
Before the final quarter, Ben would have called himself the reason we were struggling. Anyone who would suggest our defense was the reason we were loosing is a fool.after they scored three times early, yes they did. Why did it take so long???Check the game day thread.
Ben trolls wanted to pin this loss on him. Nope, nope, nope.

Once again, put me done as a nay sayer.
I'm sayin' Ben is showing age....He started slow to start the season, he plays worse coming off a bye than he does a short week and now he gets 5 days off without practice and 9 days between games and he ***** the bed for more than half a game before he warms up.
Anybody that thinks he can play into his 40's is being very optimistic. I say one more max, that is if he can stay healthy. Lot of hits on that body especially when he has to run through both teams to get to the endzone. I'm not denying his skills, just his longevity.
What? The first TD was a busted play on the inside. I didn't see much difference at all from inside to outside from the first half to the second. McDonald's TD was middle. Only when time became an issue on that last drive did they start going outside. I'd hardly call that "attacking the ouside CBs on the 4th Qtr scores".
Also Jax turtled the ball in the 4th Qtr. The steelers stacked the line which is what anybody does in that situation. What else were they going to do? Play a dime?
Also the coaches let Ben run the offense on the last drive. That's the best thing they can do. Just get out of the way and let Ben handle it. Yea, he wasn't great today but you aren't winning without him. How many people wanted to pull him for Dobbs? Yea, put Dobbs in and take the L to go with it.
Against the Jaguars, however, Smith-Schuster had just one catch for nine yards from the slot. He had seven for 95 yards lined up on the outside, so it’s clear that they did indeed deliberately move him to the outside to exploit what they felt was a winning matchup.
Here ya go Vader. Straight from Ben's mouth. As I noted, in the second half they started targeting the outside more. They did this with JuJu by moving him around and targeting the boundary corners late in the 3rd and the whole 4th.
Maybe Ben's lying cause you "didn't see much difference at all from inside to outside from the first half to the second" right?

No reason to be bitchy. I didn't say Ben was lying. I said I didn't see a difference. I even went back and looked at the drive chart. The article is about moving JuJu to the ouside not them throwing just outside. Not only that but of Schusters 6 (he had 2 in the first half) outside catches 4 of them were on the last two drives with less than 3 minutes left. So they were going outside anyway. The difference is that they moved Schuster not that they were throwing outside. Which any team would be forced to do when they are down 2 scores with under 3 minutes left.
It might be time to just move JuJu to the Z full time.
Switzer, Samuels, and Hunter have already played slot. I wouldn't be against trying Washington there as well. They have to do something, we are not getting any productivity from the Z. Hell, last game JuJu may have been more productive than Hunter and Washington combined this season.
Seriously though, not a bad idea. The kid has shown he can thrive in the slot or on the outside. The other WRs (Other than AB)? Not so much.Never work. JuJu's too slow to be our Z/Deep Threat ....Seriously though, not a bad idea. The kid has shown he can thrive in the slot or on the outside. The other WRs (Other than AB)? Not so much.
C'mon man, at no time did I say they threw just outside after making the adjustment. That would be ridiculous. And no matter how you parse it, the adjustment I noted was made. But, we (Ben and I), can agree to disagree with you on that Mi Amigo.
Wait, you touted Romo's astute observations during the game. Well, it was Romo that said you had to adjust and attack the outside corners. Ummm, that's what they did that led to the 4th quarter scores. The coaches adjusted the playcalling to more effectively attack those outside corners.
The coaches also adjusted the run defense at half-time and that paid off in the second half ... the D limited Jax to 16 points. That's scheming for success.
So yeah, the coaches did help. What didn't help was Ben's early play and INTs or the OL's early play.
Your first quote:
So here you admit that they didn't start attacking the outside until the 4th Qtr. Both those drives happened with less than 4 minutes on the clock. They moved JuJu over during those two drives. It wasn't the 2nd half in toto it was the last 2 drives when they had to throw outside to save time.
So I'm not shocked that a team down by 2 scores is throwing outside the last 4 minutes of a game. I'd be shocked if they DIDN'T. Up "until" that point there was no difference.
You sir are purposely misreading ... to quote myself as you did: "Ummm, that's what they did that led to the 4th quarter scores. The coaches adjusted the playcalling to more effectively attack those outside corners." At no point did I say that they didn't start attacking the outside UNTIL the 4th quarter. See, leading to something doesn't mean that you only did it at that time ... it actually means "leading up to that time". You know, prior to. So Kind of like my original post led you to respond (erroneously) that they did not adjust to attack the outside more. Again, don't believe me, believe Ben's own words when he said that they adjusted to attack the outside in the third and fourth quarters (which you strongly denied); and that adjustment led to the fourth quarter scores. Ben's words are something you can't pick an unnecessary and unwarranted argument with.
Oh, and before you go on one of your patented Vader rants where you parse words, ignore intent and try to generally obscure the original discussion, I'm done with this. There's really nothing good that can come from me entertaining you. Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your day.
