Gronk also CAN be covered 1 on 1. I saw Barry do it for KC in week 2. It is possible, you have to be physical and don't back down. Barry did a much better job slowing Gronk off the line.

A nice zone blitz scheme would be bring the SS inside to stop the run, line a LB on Gronk, so Brady sees the mismatch. Blitz the LB and swap the Safety from the blindside to roll coverage to him. INT!

Anyone else notice how the pats OL pushes the defenders downfield so Brady can always step up in a clean pocket. I would love to see a delayed blitz up the middle.

My opinion is they should have gone zero coverage on the final defensive series. Gave up the TD quickly or made something happen.

I feel that there was/is no reason that Watt doesn't stick with him. At least for 10-15 yards before passing him off to one of the safeties. Watt is a tremendous player, and I'm thrilled that he's a Steeler. However, he hasn't gotten all that close to the qb the last few weeks. He shows a great deal when engaged with a lineman, but overall, he's been just a few steps late. He showed us all that he can stick in Jordy Nelson's back-*******-pocket, and defend him well. I would love to see him and the frat boy go at it over the course of a game.

Both need to be replaced. Davis may have more action, but he seems to be targeted more often, meaning teams know he is suspect in coverage.

Ability or lack their of is one thing, but both are STUPID players.

I'm on board for S, and ILB in round one, unless Ben retires.

The thing with Gronk is that he is a freak of nature. Other teams my shut him down, but you have to commit the resources and the *'s are still scoring 27+.

Unless you put a big guy on him to stall him at the line, he will, eventually, pummel a smaller guy and get over on him. If you put the big guy on him, it is likely that your big guy is not as fast as Gronk and he doesn't get jammed as much as you want. now you have taken one of your big guys out of rushing brady or defending against the run.

I keep bringing this up because people seem to think stopping Gronk is easier than it is or doesn't cause its own problem. Gronk would be a problem even if the *'s were not cheating pieces of ****.

2015 1st game of the year, Gronk gets 3TD's on us. Board freaks out. Rex Ryan comes out (buffalo is playing the *'s the next week or the week after). Assures the media that his team won't be letting Gronk score 4TD. Board freaks out "Now, that is how you coach." blah, blah, blah. Sure enough, Gronk did not score 3TD's....the rest of the team scored 40 points, though....Through the rest of the year, Gronk gets no more than 1 TD in a game. Lots of games with none. It would still be game 8 before the *'s scored less points than they scored against us (28). In all but 4 games that year, they scored 27 or more points.

Mitchell is the biggest weakness. QBs throw passes 30 yds down the middle of the field, and Mitchell is either standing there watching, or continues to run backwards. Why? Other safeties run up and make a play on something that deep. He did it at least 2 times when Davis was trailing Gronk.
