Most Heartbreaking Steelers Loss Ever?

Not very heartbreaking to me...It was a crappy ending for sure, but overall does not effect much. If we were fighting for the playoffs or this was a playoff loss it would have been close to the top. I take positives out of this game. They played man most of the game, did not give up 50 points, and the offense controlled the first half. Terrible coaching and an ill advised pass at the end cost us the sun. I think we can clean that up. I think the loss helps. I did not see the Steelers running the table for the rest of the year. Better to lose now than in the playoffs

Kraft bought and payed for game and his team covered the spread they where favs by 2.5 at our house James TD was a td it's fixed just look back at last year's sb. Biggest come back ever ya right **** is fixed **** the NFL not for long with goodell

U can't stand to hear the truth - Brady owns the Steelers and it has nothing to do with the NFL or the refs or the secret signals being pumped into your head

I can see why you want me gone, so you can run around with your non-stop conspiracy bullshit in every thread

agree, some people cant see the big picture. we got a great team and its only reg season game . it will be that much sweeter when we win sb. ya that sucked it was a lucky win for the pats, but i really believe we are a better team , the best team in fb

Two SB losses as that is the biggest test..why they play the game....
And they ended in fail.

Not the most heartbreaking, but definitely the one that pissed me off the most.

No nothing can top the 1994 AFCCG. That was gut wrenching!

Came her to post this.

I was sick for 6 months after. Still pissed.

2nd was the 1997 AFCCG - we definitely would have beat the Packers in the SB.
In 94, not sure who was beating the 49ers.

Not even close. Win out and we may still get home field!

Look, it would have been nIce to win, but this wasn't season ending at all... we fundamentally played a different style of football for the first time in forever vs them and if we have a healthy brown rather than rodgers at the end of that game, we win...

They all blur together anymore. Seems like being a fan of this team is death by 1000 cuts to me. Honestly, I would rather they just completely suck and have no shot at the playoff each year beside's this "oh the Steeler's have a great shot to win it all" hype that ends up ripping your heart out when the playoffs start. I really need to take a break from actually caring about it I think.
Sad since I have actually cared about it since they won it in 75.

O'donell deciding to throw the ball to Larry Brown in 96 sucked....Toussaints fumble in Denver the other year is another one. How about Mendenhalls fumble. The ones that they had every chance to win and decided to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, like last night, hurt the worst.

If we lost in that fashion to any other team, I'd get over it quick. I can't take losing the **ts anymore especially when we out played them.
I cannot stand their smug fans who just started watching football a few years ago and will never watch another game once Brady retires and they're losing 8+ games a year.

I'm not heart broken in the least. I expected this. I know Mikey Sunglasses will be flat out coached by Belicheat or do something mindnumbingly stoopid to cost us the game. He did the stoopid by blowing in that play instead of kicking a chip shot FG to send the game to OT. Write this down that I said it, say that I said it: A Mikey Sunglasses coached team will never beat the Cheats in Foxboro in the playoffs and he just handed them home field advantage.

So Ben not throwing the ball out of the EZ is Tomlin's fault? How did Bellichik out coach him? Did he use mind control make Ben throw that pass into triple coverage?

Agree wholeheartedly. Between him and Haley, we will never win anotherSuper Bowl or be in one. Defensive backfield needs a complete overhaul. How can you let a tightend get 168 yards and still have a safety chasing him around the field playing tag.

No.

Mikey Sunglasses stepped on his dick by blowing that call in when we weren't set and may not have had the correct personnel in for it. Don't get cute kick the FG and go to OT stupid.

Steelers were robbed and I hope they use that as motivation. Get the bye week and plan on going to foxboro in January. Winning in their house would make everything ok. Maybe the refs will decide they want us to win that night.

Yep i agree it was stupid to trust that your 14 year vet could get a play off when we all know he is the self pro claimed no huddle i call the plays genius. Then if nothing is there to throw it away like a vet that he is. Just Dumb

If Ben had thrown the ball out of the EZ they would have called him for grounding. There was only one receiver in the pattern and he was nowhere near the back of the endzone. The refs would have thrown a flag and said Ben was intentionally grounding the ball and they would have run off the clock.

You know it. I know it. Mike Pereira definitely knows it.

I'm not arguing it was a bad play. Ben probably should have ignored Haley and done the smart thing and spiked the ball. Why Haley thought for one ******* second there was a snowball's chance of a play working when literally NOBODY on the offense knew WTF was going on...

Epic Haley. Truly Epic Haley.

And yet, the ball was thrown in exactly the right spot and Rogers could have made a play on it if his jersey wasn't being used as leverage for the DB. Why Eli didn't get up and grab that ************* jersey and hang on to it for dear ******* life until he got all the way back into his own locker room I don't know.

Please stop with the conspiracy bullshit i get the lack of calls part but chill with they would of made up some bullshit if Ben would of sailed it high and out the end zone. Ben could of thrown it away. It was the higher percentage play. But looking at the replay Rogers was held..but the high percentage play was throw it away and kick.

Antdrew, you want to blame everything on Ben. You HAVE to have Roethlisberger fail so you can get Landry or whomever in his place. I understand. You ******* hate his guts and nothing he does is right. We get it.

Obviously it was an AWESOME ******* call from the sidelines. And the fact that the throw was right there doesn't matter to you.

Truth is, that game was over the moment Brown went down. The Steelers just needed another 3+ quarters to figure it out and they needed some official reminders along the way.
