Netanyahu Welcomes Trump's Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's Capital

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded U.S. President Donald Trump's official recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital on Wednesday, calling it a "historic day."

He said that any peace agreement with the Palestinians must include Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and added that there will be no change in the status of the city's holy sites.

"Jerusalem has been the focus of our hopes, our dreams, our prayers for three millennia," said the prime minister. "Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for 3,000 years."

"It's so it's rare to be able to speak of new and genuine milestones in the glorious history of this city, yet today's pronouncement by President Trump is such an occasion," said Netanyahu.

All day i've felt bad, crying off and on.I was going to buy Franken's latest book but now I'm too sad. Curling up in a ball and crying several times. Trump is winning and the democrats are doing everything they can to self-destruct and enable it.

It's was so horrifying to watch, I can't sleep, I just saw Tweeden on TV, felt nauseated.I'm not only not proud to be a Democrat today, I'm not sure I AM one any longer.

I give up. We are shattered now Our Democratic leadership has failed us. It's pretty hopeless right now. Haven't felt this bad since Trump won.

I've been walking in circles for the last hour. Really don't know whether to cry or scream, I’ve been a registered Democrat for 48 years, and things have never looked as bleak as they do right now. I no longer have faith in my party. Franken was 'thrown under the bus' by dems.

Democrats just opened themselves up to lose both in 2018 and 2020. Just. Too. Damn. Disgusted. To. Bother. Republicans stick together. Democrats run away with their tails between their legs as soon as there's a sign of trouble.

Utahns, Tribal Members, Western Leaders Applaud Bears Ears Monument Rollback

Local voices and tribal members were effusive in their praise for twin proclamations from President Donald Trump ordering the reduction of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. They described the announcement as a locals-driven decision-making process that culminated in the monument revisions.

President Trump has restored balance to our public lands discussion,” said Utah Governor Gary Herbert (R). “We are pleased that Utahns once again have a voice in the process of determining appropriate uses of these public lands that we love.”

“By reducing these super-sized monuments to a size consistent with the intent of the law, new doors of dialogue have opened up that will allow thoughtful, long-term protection of these federal lands. Federal, state, local and tribal officials can now convene to craft legislation for appropriate special protections and responsible recreational uses.”

“I am grateful to the President for coming to Utah to help us resolve this important issue,” Curtis said. “Now that the President has created two new monuments in my congressional district, the time has come for congress to ensure that these sites are managed the right way. In the coming days, I look forward to introducing legislation to ensure we are just doing that.”

Stewart agreed with his House colleague. His district includes Grand Staircase-Escalante.

“The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument resides in my district. I have seen firsthand the damage that the monument has caused to the local economy,” Stewart said. “My constituents have been in a desperate need of change, and today President Trump delivered.” He applauded the more inclusive process undertaken by the current administration.

(CNN)President Donald Trump mocked the Democratic "resistance" to his presidency Friday night, chiding Hillary Clinton as the large crowd at a campaign-style rally in Pensacola, Florida, chanted "Lock her up!"

"They're resisting the will of the American people -- that's what they're resisting," Trump said. Clinton resisted, he said, and "she lost the election in a landslide."
"Powerful people in Washington trying to stop our movement." “She paid 12 and a half million for a dossier.”

Trump also reiterated his promise to build a US-Mexico border wall.

"Any Hispanics here, any Hispanics?" Trump said near the beginning of his speech. "Remember they weren't going to vote for me, because I'm going to build the wall? But they want the wall, too, because they want security."

He also pointed out supporters with "blacks for Trump" signs.

"Look at these guys, blacks for Trump," he said. "I love you. I love you. I love you. By the way, now that you bring it up, black home ownership just hit the highest level it's ever been in the history of our country. Congratulations."

Trump touted his record and promised to soon deliver tax cuts and a repeal of Obamacare's individual mandate to buy health insurance.

He also touted the nation's economic performance since he took office.

"It's all psychological to a large extent, and that's what creates greatness," Trump said of the economy, saying that "consumer confidence is at a 17-year high" and "economic growth last quarter surged to 3.3%."

Jerusalem: Why Trump Succeeded Where Others Failed

After months of stalling and waiting, President Trump finally officially recognized Jerusalem as the Eternal Capital of Israel. He further directed his cabinet and the State Department to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The transition will take time, but it's underway. Of course, the Palestinian terrorists and their liberal enablers are screaming and rioting in the streets over this move. But it's about time it happened. The United States' military victories in the Middle East against ISIS, plus the growing awareness of the violent nature of the Islamic political cult, have wakened the world to the high stakes in the region. For these reasons, I respect why President Trump issued the formal declaration now rather than in January or February.

We need to stand with Israel, and we need to ensure that the capital of the only stable liberal democracy in the Middle East is recognized as the mainstay of the Jewish State.

His critics in the press and among the Beltway intelligentsia blasted the move as short-sighted or political. Unbelievable. Even Democrats who wanted this move to happen are slamming the President for actually doing it.

In 1995, Congress passed legislation, which President Bill Clinton signed, that would require the United States to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. One part of the law, however, permitted the President to issue a waiver in case of national security threats. Every president since has used that waiver to back away from their campaign promise.

This time, however, President Trump allowed the waiver to lapse and he announced official recognition of Jerusalem as the official, eternal capital of the state of Israel.

Iraq declares war with Islamic State is over

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi told a conference in Baghdad that Iraqi troops were now in complete control of the Iraqi-Syrian border.

The border zone contained the last few areas IS held, following its loss of the town of Rawa in November.

The Iraqi announcement comes two days after the Russian military declared it had accomplished its mission of defeating IS in neighbouring Syria

The Supreme Court upheld President Trump's right to ban foreigners from America because of security concerns. At the time, Barack Obama was giving speeches in India, ripping Trump and laughing it up and having a good time. That could change when he tries to re-enter the United States.
