"Maybe I don't have it anymore"-Ben

By going out and doing it. No one said we are going to score everytime. Punt and play field position. Defense will be more rested and hopefully make more plays. And hopefully we will wear teams down. Because right now all this shotgun finesse isnt working. Line up in the I formation and wear teams down

We have a speed back, not Bettis back there. You want a power running game with an OL that is not opening holes already? No wonder you blame everything g on execution, especially if you think that is a viable game plan.

Bell is a speed back??? Yeah the same Oliine that wore down the Raven

I agree, can't have a power running game with a RB that doesn't hit the hole and an OLine that isn't a great run blocking oline. If we want to primarily run, it has to be from the spread

If there is a hole he hits. Stop with the narrative that he is passing up holes lol. If there is one he hits just fine. We ran just fine last week out the I and we wore them down.

He’s been calling out the coaching staff for the last too years, let him vent I’m not worried yet,if it’s this way in week 10 or so I’ll worry, anyone have a better alternative?

Where did I say he skips holes? The point is if you line up as power running team then teams stack the line, our line does not block well in that scenario and Bell doesn't hit the line fast, second slowest to hit the LOS as a RB.

Just as I feared, they came out cocky and got their ***** beat physically all over the field. Great game plan, against the worst run D in the league, you come to pass the ball down their throats.

When faced with adversity they crumbled like little china dolls on both sides of the ball.

If they stack the lines that means we should have one on one coverage.

I agree I hate his running style it does not wear teams down and take what is there. Today he had a handful of plays that lost yards and a few were 4 or 5 yard losses. Much prefer a punishing runner like a Fortenau or Hunt instead of the pitter patter. When a team attacks our running game we have no answer.

Jacksonville knew they had to stop the run and liked the matchups they had with their talented secondary. We can blame our strategy, but also have to give credit to the Jaguars' staff for coming up with a very good plan and the players for executing it.

Agreed, but as soon as the defense realizes our OLine isn't great in that capacity and neither is our RB, they won't need to stack the line.
I'm all for leaning on the running game a little more, but I think it has to be out of the spread, the line and Bell are more comfortable in that formation

This line really needs Gilbert back out there. He is one of the top right tackles in the league and his absence is VERY noticeable.

No alternative at this point.
The Rooney's will not throw Tomlin away anytime soon.
Haley and Ben are on their last wheels imo.

It would be nice to send Ben out as a champion.
But the decline is noticeable this season. Hoping they bounce back and shut us up

I agree but they lost to the allegedly ****** Jets playing back to back on the road where we are usually a lot better at home,no excuse for not winning this one

Let’s see now! We just extended Tomlin through the 2020 season this past summer. Our QB has hinted at retirement and looks closer to it every week. We have no one waiting in the wings to take over for Ben. Our 17 million dollar RB has had one good game so far. Our #2 receiver who we all thought would make the difference this year had yet to show up. We have no real threat at TE. Oh I forgot! We traded for The Niners TE and his contract who couldn’t beat out the Niners current starter and has one small issue. He can’t ******* catch. We have a me diva just throw me the ball receiver in Brown who by the way is probably happy since he got his stats today. Oh and did I mention that Tomlin is signed through 2020. Oh I did mention that. Whew! At least we have his leadership and guidance to get us through all this.

I read this he allegedly said this. Where is the proof?

go on the steelers.com website. Go to videos>locker room and you'll see Ben's post game interview. Says it in the first minute.

And while where at it.get Foster the **** out of there an start Finney. much better run blocker and his pass blocking will get better as he goes.

In years past, after Ben has a bad game you can expect him to come back next game and be great. I don't think we'll be seeing that anymore.
Of course, Ben is better than he was today but these first 4 games are what we're going to get out of Ben the rest of his career... unfortunately, it might not be good enough to make any kind of run.

He was bad today sure, but 4 of those picks were tipped, bad luck had alot to do with it, were any of those bad reads?

I agree, some were kind of fluky but something just seems off with him. He hasn't looked sharp in one full game yet this year. Also, his mobility is becoming a slight issue too.
Tom Brady might be better at moving around in the pocket than Ben now. Ben looks so slow and has no escapability anymore, which was a huge asset for him during his prime years.

I agree he seems off, I think he needs to realize he doesn't have the mobility he once did. I also think there's no legit targets consistently open other than AB

At least 2 were bad reads, can't remember the others. The one where he was throwing to mcdonald was a bad read. Ramsey was all over him and a mismatch to start with. Another one to Brown was a bad read and throw. Ramsey was all over Brown and the pass was high and tipped by Ramsey. A better throw might have been complete, but Brown was not really open.
