#1 is a no brainer, the rest are subjective
Mean Joe...Ben
in case you forget what its like to watch a HOF DB...
Franco stole victory from the jaws of defeat to give the Steelers their first ever franchise playoff victory nearly 40 years from their start. The Immaculate reception alone puts him in the top 10. That and his 4 SB rings that followed...
Plus he was the reason why the Steelers won their first. He and the D of course!
So you leave out the quarterback of the four Super Bowl-winning teams of the '70's?
Then you've listed your 10 favorite Steelers of all time, but not the greatest 10.
I wouldn't put Franco that high on the list, if at all.
The rest of the list is pretty damn solid.
My thoughts too
I chose Ben over Brad because I think he is overall a better player. Yes Brad won 4 rings... .
And his stats for the fourth quarter of the four SB wins were:
11 of 16, 292 yards, four TDs. 18 yards per pass. Passer rating: 151
Plus two SB MVP Awards.
Ben has been mediocre in his SB appearances, while Bradshaw excelled. And he did it in an era when DBs could tee off on receivers.
Case closed.
Darn right.
You could have a modern-day roster of 53 and still leave out some terrific players.
Dirt Dawson definitely in my top 10,I don't buy this **** about no ring.
He'd have one if not for Neil O'dummel!
Or if Andre Hastings ran the correct route. We played a dynasty level Cowboys team in their prime and had them on the ropes. Sure I was pissed as H@ll when it happened, but many years later I admire the team effort in this game.
Wrong.
He made the offense - of four Super Bowl-winning teams - go.
Like I said...top 15.
A while back I did a top 50 Steelers...Chuck Noll - Coach...
Wrong. Bradshaw and the passing game won the lwoB repuSs along with the best D in the sport.
