Ten Greatest Steelers of All Time

I wouldn't put Franco that high on the list, if at all.

The rest of the list is pretty damn solid.

Disagree, politely of course: He made the offense go on those '70's teams.

Definitely belongs, although you make a good point about him being a little too high on the list.

Should be closer gap between Bradshaw and Ben. I wonder what the criteria for the list was??? SB wins obviously had a large role in assessing greatness. Jerome Bettis had more yards than Franco but 3 less rings. The list looks pretty solid. In the HISTORY of the STEELERS it is so fortunate that there could be several top 10 list(s) and we wouldn't run out of players.

Solid list. Sounds about right.
I'm a youngster so I'd rank Troy higher.

But hearing stories of Jack Ham's IQ/football technicality; not gonna argue

The Steelers have had so many great players over the years, their top ten list should have 15 names

I have to pick ten based on that list, I leave Woodson off and replace with Bettis.

(not ranked)

Polamalu
Big Ben
Mean Joe
Lambert
Ham
Webster
Brown (don't care what anyone says about longevity no steeler receiver has done close to what he has done in five years)
Bell (again if longevity and numbers is the standard then no way but I'm going on sheer talent....guy is a Hall of Fame talent)
Blount
Harrison (in his five year dominant stretch I'd take him over any Steeler linebacker.....if refs called a third of the hding calls against him his MVP year he would have had 30 sacks)

Ok now you can tell me how bad my list is

NO way in hell is BELL on this list Y-E-T. Maybe after this MONSTER season but not currently.

Hello? Charles Davenport.

Bathrooms down the hall and to the left, then a right right straight.

I think he was the motivation for Trophy number 5 so I have to agree

Woodson was very good but the only Super Bowl they got to while he was here, that was the only game he played that whole season.

it's like picking one of your kids as your fav over the others.

It should start with Greene, Blount, Ham, Lambert, Bradshaw, Swann and Ben then it's a free for all.

Can't forget Ward, Troy, Franco, Iron Mike, Harrison . . . geez, so many!

Franco deserves to be where he is. I watched every game he played - and he performed at a high level for many years. He carried the early Steelers on his back with his running. But the biggest thing about him, is he was one of the games best backs in big games. Instead of choking and fumbling away opportunities, he always (with a couple exceptions) seemed to give his best when the game was on the line - or in the playoffs or in the SB.

I would rate Ben higher though - he is a better QB than Bradshaw in my opinion. Bradshaw has the rings, yep, but Bradshaw was on a team with with, in my opinion the best defense of all time. That helps a bit.

Franco stole victory from the jaws of defeat to give the Steelers their first ever franchise playoff victory nearly 40 years from their start. The Immaculate reception alone puts him in the top 10. That and his 4 SB rings that followed...

Plus he was the reason why the Steelers won their first. He and the D of course!

Kent Graham didn't make the list...I have an unexaggerated look of complete consternation authored in my appearance. I personally don't put much value into the all-players list because it can be controverted obnoxiously in great length. As deep-seated and rich of a tradition and history that the Steelers organization has been since it's inception and rise, they need to come up with a TRUE list of top 10 Steelers...possibly including Dan Rooney for consideration, The Chief, etc. Some of the founding fathers. As a sidebar, I can only think of one coach that I would put on the list...

Just before the 4min mark. The ticker at the bottom: Ward signs a contract extension with the Steelers followed by Quincy Morgan released from the Cowboys!

Rod was my favorite player to ever play. If he stayed on the team his whole career, he would have been my favorite Steeler.

I'll always have a soft spot in the Top 10 for LC Greenwood. He was outstanding in lwoB repuS X and if it wasn't for Swann's circus like catches he could have been MVP. He was overlooked by the Hall of Fame......so sad that he passed away but I always felt he gave 110% of himself on the field when he played.

Loved his Miller beer commercial then the reply commercial from Bert Jones was hilarious!
