I think they felt he'd be back.
Not mad he's gone by any means, but we are suddenly very thin at LB.
Thanks for the memories, Jarvis. Oh, wait! There aren't any.
JJ was a bust and the funny part is the majority here knew it before our own FO knew it. That is when my confidence level really dropped with Tombert. I hope they have learned your first round pick has to have BOTH physical ability and production. No more of this huge production numbers but horrible workouts or great physical measurements but no production. WE NEED BOTH in the first round. Later in the draft I understand you won't be getting both but you have to be safe and steady in round one.
Eh. The writing on the wall was there at UGA too. He has a high motor, but the strength and fundamental skill set isn't there. Could it be his stenosis? Maybe. He does have an awesome bull rush, but the over pursuit doesn't work in the nfl
No big loss loosing Jones! IMO the kid was a waste of a roster spot. One of the biggest draft busts for the Steelers because he took up a friggin roster spot for 4 years all the while James Harrison took a back seat to this bum! Id take a 50 year old James Harrison over Jarvis Jones!
And there shall be WEEPING and GNASHING of teeth...
I'm glad he is gone. He had no fire in his belly. He only went through the motions. Now we can get someone new at that spot to share time with Harrison.
If Jarvis plays every game for the Cardinals, will that earn us a decent comp pick in next years draft?
That may be his best contribution to the Steelers.
yeah, from Cardinals fans by, sayyyy, mid-October.
A bit over your sarcastic head???
I think Jarvis could have a decent season for them...
Sometimes a change of scenery does wonders...
Either way---I hope we get at least a 4th round comp for him..
Jarvis Jones signed a 1 year, $2,250,000 contract with the Arizona Cardinals, including a $1,000,000 signing bonus, $1,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $2,250,000. In 2017, Jones will earn a base salary of $1,000,000, a signing bonus of $1,000,000 and a roster bonus of $234,375, while carrying a cap hit of $2,234,375 and a dead cap value of $1,000,000.

Interesting. I would have thought the Steelers would have paid him that much. Clearly, they were completely uninterested.
