Well, I guess the Mike Adams experiment is over

I have never seen one poster be worshiped and idolized on a board the way TMC is on here. The guy is a good talent evaluator for sure. He also doesn't even post here, and it makes you sound like a total ***** when you randomly bring his name up to remind everyone that he was right about something years ago. Who cares?

I appreciated his insight until people decided to make personal attacks against him and run him off the board.

I also miss that dude posting here and am still pissed that some of you ******** caused him to leave. We talk about him and his insights cause we appreciate what he brought. A better question is why do you care that people do it?

Draft misses happen, Pats Dominique Easley cut, Ravens Elam bust. I don't think Adams fully recovered from the stabbing incident at least as far as gaining his full strength back, along with other injuries.

Didnt the perp stab him in the liver? God that seemed like forever ago. I remember he was cut in a critical area. If so, then yeah I agree that had an affect on his performance

It seemed like the Steelers hit the lottery in that draft, getting DD and Adams 1-2. You really can't grade a draft for years.

Why does it take this team 2 years longer than ANY other team to cut bait on obviously ****** players? They take "patience" to a new level....to an unappropriate level.

If you were running the Steelers in '74, you probably woulda cut Bradshaw, huh?

They have patience. Good for them. It isn't like this is a team that has never won anything. What they have done over he years tends to work more often than not.

Sometimes I come on here and wonder if the Steelers have turned into Browns or something, with all the complaining.

I agree TMC is a knowledgable, respected member of the board. I loved reading all of his stuff. And I was sad to see him go and quite frankly, didn't understand it.

At the end of the day, I disagreed with the way he got offended like that and went storming off.

It is a message board after all. Part of what makes it viable and real is that posters sometimes go at it. Heck, the abuse I've taken on the political side - some of it deserved, I guess ;) - would have been more than enough to get pissed off and bail on the site. Sometimes when you clash with another poster, or posters, it can get pretty heated. Then again, if you step back from it you realize it is kind of what makes it fun. I figure most everyone on here is old enough to fend for themselves, a little disagreement, arguing, mudslinging never hurt anyone. Supe's the exception, I know he's only 13, so I handle him with kid gloves.

Spike and I go at it all the time. Indy, Tim and others (too many to list here) hate my guts on the political side. Here in the football threads you'll find guys constantly criticizing, ribbing, chiding each other. Sometimes it's fun and games, sometimes it's not. Once in a while things get out of hand, people get pissed off, certain things get said that probably shouldn't. But life goes on. 99% of the time it seems pretty good-natured with no ill will involved.

I guess what I'm saying - just like in real life, at the workplace, with friends & family - you got to have thick skin. It would be easier if we'd be sitting around drinking beers having these discussions, but we're not. It's hard to figure out if someone's serious, or being witty or ironic. Some people put a lot of thought into their posts, others come blazing in typing mindless gibberish.

I'd welcome TMC back with open arms. His football acumen considerably raises the quality of discourse, which is always a good thing.

I like his insight, too. Obviously he has a passion for evaluating players. I wouldn't take the time to do it.

That being said, if you do do that you have to be prepared to have other guys who think they can evaluate talent disagree with you. Look how some on here criticize the real drafters for the Steelers. What, just because TMC doesn't do it for real he is above being criticized or disagreed with? He took his ball and went home. That's too bad, but if you are going to put it out there like that, you have to expect some arguments.

People aren't allowed to miss another poster who spent a ton of hours bringing info to this site?

I think you have it backwards...........

I understand where you're coming from. I just wish I could agree. There is a such thing as going overboard with how you talk to someone and sometimes it doesn't even have to be a comment directed at you personally but just to have it around at all is hard to tolerate. I was raised not to put up with that kind of stuff. We stomp it out. When I was growing up if I saw a kid getting picked on I was supposed to help. As an adult if I see someone going after someone unjustly or unfairly I back them up. We choose to allow things individually and as a group. If enough people don't put up with something then it won't be as much of a problem.

I'm all for having a good back and forth with someone and debating and whatnot but I can't stand people who make things and take things personal and then act out. Sometimes it's not about not being able to take something it's about not feeling like you should have to. We all have choices.

I have to agree with this, as I have been around this site for so many years and while I wasn't always posting (forgot some old usernames I had) I remember TMC many times reacted arrogantly to someone who disagreed with his evaluation. i was thankful for TMC's work and insight, but I was not a fan of his often arrogant responses to criticism.

shinin - I guess I just didn't see anything that egregious in that Dri Archer thread, or anything directed towards TMC that hasn't gone on here for years with others.

I'd say very few, if any, thought anything other than "what a steal" on Sweed, too

he left because ******** would follow him from thread to thread throwing up the same stupid bullshit even if it had nothing to do with the topic of the current thread. TMC was excellent at evaluating players and always had sound reasoning behind his opinions. Others who could not support their arguments as well as he did just couldn't let **** go. I should have banned all those fucktards and kept TMC here.

Amen. Take my ball and go home comes to mind

Tmc put in hundreds of hours of film work, because he had a passion for it. He'd evaluate 300 college players just for fun. Then millenials with uneducated opinions would blast TMC, because they disagreed. They would attack hits hours put in, like it would be a negative on this site.

The ******* kids are gone, and there is a system in place to keep this site civil. It's now safe for TMC of any new poster to come in and share opinions. The trash has been taken out so hopefully he'll return.

i have never had a problem with ANYONE on this site. I've debated/argued, but still appreciated what anyone was saying.

Have always hated to see anyone leave OR get banned. but that's me....

There are still some double standards being employed, but it is better.

Let's see...

Rookie year was atrocious - agreed.
He was stabbed in the offseason - never really recover from that if you ask me.
Out of last year due a back injury - the Rooney's show "grace and mercy" due to an injury???

He played "when he could", but, that "play" was, "obviously" "below the line"...

He was steelers rookie of the year his 1st year. Was all downhill from there though, obviously.

Its not too late to start banning them.

it is not "double standards" it is treating each poster how they deserve to be treated and restricting the fucktardness of certain posters to keep from polluting the board with excessive ignorance.

To call Mike Adams a failure is myopic. He was seriously injured last year, sat on the IR, and failed the physical this year. He probably wasn't going to play this year. He may be out of football for good, I only hope he can live the rest of his life without back pain.

Get well Mr Adams, I'm sorry it didn't work out.
I was just at a small event with abou 30 people including Mike Adams. I talked to him for a bit. He was cleared to start working out he told me. Two weeks ago (a week after I seen him) my best friend text me and said Adams was at the local bar drinking. He's from where I live. Hardcore pot head.

I'm aware of that, but ****, what do you expect? It's a message board, and anyone who can type in Youtube can get highlights and do their own "evaluating" of players.

I appreciated TMCs insight and certainly read what he had to say about this year's draft. Truth be told, I bet he could do as well over a number of years as the experts. The whole draft is a crap shoot. That is partly why I don't understand people getting their panties in a bunch when there are disagreements. Hell, who really knows until 2-3 years out?
