He is as status quo as you can get. Better than nothing, for sure. I hope we really search long & hard for a capable, can-win-games-if-Ben-is-out type QB. I'm praying someone falls through the cracks as teams start cutting down. Gradkowski can stay on as a 3rd, Charlie Batch type clipboard holder, rah rah guy, if he can beat out Landry. But we need a legitimate back-up QB heading into September.

There is no way we bring anyone else in. Our 3 QB's this season will be Ben, Gradkowski and Landry. You know it. I know it and everyone else knows it.
We have never gone into a season without a veteran backup. This year is now no different.
If he recovered from injury how bad is a one year deal?

Who would be better? They aren't going to spend the money to get a guy like Ryan Fitzpatrick. And if they aren't getting a guy like him then they are picking among guys that are on the same level as Gradkowski, but Gradkowski knows the offense which makes him better than anybody else they could have realistically gotten. Unless they can get Matt McGloin because he's awesome.

tape, this will take some looking into. Hard to believe there won't be at least a couple of guys out there that may be a tick better than Gradkowski. When was the last time he even threw a pass in a game? It's been a while. It's not like he's a spring chicken either, who has the potential to get better. I think he peaked a few years ago, and it wasn't a particularly high peak. I don't hate the guy, but after suffering through those games with Landry and Vick, I was hoping we can get a QB in here where we don't have to wince every time they drop back, in case Ben misses a game or two.
I think it was for QB Brandon Allen ARK, and I think Matt Flynn is still a free agent I think he'd be an ok backup for now.
This will be Landry's year.

Gradkowsli sucks, has never thrown a pass for the Steelers on 3 years but he knows the system, LMFAO, teams would stack the box and dare the weak armed midget to beat them with the pass.

But was broken like a toothpick on many occasions. I liked Charlie, but not great back up material as was overstayed by management.

Nearly all available backups stink. The better ones go to teams with weak starters because they hope to play. If you were any good, why would you come here, instead of going to Cleveland, or Philly?
