I'm not too disappointed. At least it was a CB and not another OLB. I figure Burns will be do-able.
Maybe not CB. I would have liked Spence, Billings, Nkemdiche, or Alexander. Or a trade down. Lots of other options that would have been more palatable to me.
Good one, Swallows!
Artie Burns, CB, Miami-Burns is 5117, 193 pounds. I mentioned earlier that Burns compares to Bryant McFadden, who the Steelers had rated as a first round prospect, and I think he does. Similar size. Similar workout numbers. Similar style of play. Both players are not afraid to mix it up. Both guys are steady, consistent, but not flashy. When I watch the film of Burns, I see a player that just goes out down after down and plays with good position, does his job, and lines back up and does it again. I do not see a great deal of splash plays from Burns, but I do not see a ton of plays where he blows assignments or allows his receiver to just get away from him. Steady, consistent, reliable.
We could have gotten a Krunk.toothed sagging swagging low grade dog food eating buy my gold chains from a mall kiosk wearing piece of **** in the second round.
...drunk as ****!!!!!!
Litos, what makes you think they had offers for the pick?
And more importantly, what makes you think they didn't have Burns rated this high to begin with?
Miami CB Artie Burns
His stock has skyrocketed since defensive backs coaches have been able to dig into his tape. Burns catches like a wide receiver and is a championship hurdler, so you know he's athletic. The tape and technique are raw and uneven, and Burns appears to coast on his athleticism too often. Great potential, but a projection player with a lower floor.
Much needed in our defensive backfield. This was TMC's analysis on Burns...Steady, consistent, reliable.
I'm on my phone. Hit you up tomorrow!!!where's my karma?
...don't tell me Alexander isn't as athletic as Burns cause they are close in everything, yet Alexander Jumps 4 inches more though he is 2 inches shorter.
Clearly they had Burns ahead of Alexander. As far as we know, they may had ranked Burns ahead of WJIII & Apple.

We needed an outside corner sooooooo bad. We got a guy with solid size & speed. He's an immediate starter in our secondary. I have no doubt about that. For the better or worse, we got a first round corner for the first time in a zillion years. Burns has all the tools to be the man. The Steelers had him ranked high enough to draft him with no hesitation. Good enough for me. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.
I wonder if it is a possibility, with the wildest stretch of the imagination, I know, that Denver didn't want to make a trade with the Steelers. Maybe the trade with Seattle was cheaper (probably unlikely ). Maybe they know the Steeless and Seattle don't want a QB and they would rather give an NFC team the pick than an AFC team that took them to the wire in a playoff game with the 31st rated defense and 3Rd and 4th string RB. Crazy, I know.
It just maybe that the Steelers already called Denver and they said. No, we already have a deal with Seattle.
Or, you know, Tombert left his phone in the car and couldn't hear it ringing. I guess that is the most likely when you hear it out loud.
Plenty of spots in the secondary. Senquez Golson is another CB in the mix. Nice to see them adding talent where they can. Burns gives us a legitimate outside corner. This was a gaping hole and Colbert / Tomlin just took a firm step to fix it.Well, if they did, they must have felt like geniuses running up to the podiumI hope it works out. People seem to be forgetting we took a corner in round 2 last year, and he might just be ok too.
