The media is on him, including the level-headed Michael Wilbon.

Others like Sanders and Irvin blasted him.

Does anyone think Netwon has a hood on if he was the winning super bowl quarterback? Not a chance!

The guy not only played poorly, he showed bad leadership on and off the field. This was the knock on Newton in the draft.

He wouldn't be getting so much **** if he didn't run his mouth prior to super bowl and if he would've dove on that loose ball, I wonder how his team mates feel about that. you cant have it
both ways be all happy and think youre the greatest when things are going well, then turn into a little douche when you suck and lose. I'm sick of hearing he's still maturing, he's a young man, he's what 26? you're an adult at 18.

This.

It's easy to be a great leader when you're winning. The true test comes with adversity and he failed it miserably.

Yea, what happened to those claiming no one in the media was on his ***? It's the leading story for 2 straight days. Conan even did a spoof on him, for cripes sake.

Total overkill from ESPN.

But Conan was funny.

"I didn't get the fumble,'' Newton said. "We can play tit for tat. I've seen numerous quarterbacks throw interceptions, and the effort afterwards ... they don't go. I don't dive on one fumble, because of the way my leg was, it could have been (contorted) in a way.

"We didn't lose that game because of that fumble. I can tell you that.''

He's right they didn't lose the game because of not going after the fumble, but they did lose the opportunity to pull the game out with their final possession. In all likelihood, if he recovers the fumble and they punt, the Broncos go three and out (which they did all day, they converted 2/14 3rd downs or something like that) and give the ball back. The Panthers were one big play or missed tackle from taking the lead in that game for nearly the entire 3rd quarter and all of the 4th quarter. His lack of effort didn't cost them the game, only the chance to pull it out late.

It basically did cost them, Denver is going to run 3 times and kick a FG to go up by two scores if they recover, which takes away any chance for Carolina to win. Denver ended up getting a TD and a 2 pt conversion.

Just imagine if Shazier said, "Ah, **** it, why try to make Hill fumble, we'll never score anyway."

Oh, it wasn't that fumble.....was it the first fumble Cam? Was it the interception? Was it not setting your feet and throwing high? I sure as hell would not want this guy as my QB. Prancing around doing that Dab stuff and when it gets hard goes into a shell. Maybe...maybe you were broken by the Denver D and you quit. That's worse.

Just think if Ben doesn't make "The Tackle".

Sorry Bus, I just had my leg kind of off in another direction, I could have been hurt.

Yeah, that works...

Exactly. Rodgers sent a playoff game to OT with two hail mary plays in one friggen drive. You never know when one play is going to be a difference. Cam is now my least favorite player. He's a total loser, a complete tool.

What else can be said? Cam crapped the bed and came out in his ****** diaper for the world to see.

Time to put it to bed.

That team will NOT be seeing the light of another Super Bowl anytime soon.

Yes they will. Elway got DESTROYED in his first few SBs. This team will have much better playmakers around Cam by next year; D is solid. OL is decent. This is just a setback. Panthers will be back, because they have a solid organization and strong coaching staff. Give Cam some playmakers who can catch, and they are gonna be nearly unstoppable.

yeah, Dan Marino probably thought he would get back some day also.....

No doubt, he did, he has even said so. But Danny never had a D worth spit, or a rushing game. In hindsight, you can see why he never made it back.

McNair never went back, McNabb never went back, Jim Harbaugh never went back, Jaworski/Kerry Collins and Neil O'Donnell never went back. You're not guaranteed.

Mehhhh, the Jimmy Johnson years, there were chemistry problems. Jimmy had to do things his way, but it's tough to be total emperor when you are dealing with a living legend at QB, I think both Jimmy and Dan felt handcuffed. Also, making a Marino QB-d team rush the ball much is counter productive. It's like he was playing on stilts and the rush plays were telegraphed way too far in advance, especially in his later years. In 1992, Dan tossed for over 4,100 yards but didn't have a rusher for over 1,000 yards.

NEVER said it was guaranteed, but your examples are not compelling as apples to apples comparisons.

McNabb never went back? ****, he almost never got there in the 1st place. But the time he made it to the SB he was already in decline; it took him too long to get there in the 1st place.

When did Harbaugh make it? He was a journeyman QB to begin with, who only had a little success at career end, when he earned the moniker, "Capt. Comeback." Jaworski was 100 years ago, and his teams were never that great to begin with.

O'Donnell? Did you really go there? Had he stayed in Pgh, you might have a point, but after his only appearance in the SB (which he either choked or took a pay off) he was only on terrible teams (Jets) from then on, or too old.

Cam is entering into his prime and has a solid team around him, only lacking play makers which will be resolved by next season. Did any of the players you mentioned throw for over 4,000 yards as a rookie? He is heads and shoulders above your examples

Never liked Elway either.

Newton had enough good players around him, he just wasn't good enough to beat a better Defense.

Carolina will not be back next year. A better team will represent the NFC.

Not only that, there's guys that have won one and have never been back: Namath, Stabler, McMahon, Williams, Rypien technically Simms though he was out cause of injury, but never got to start a second SB. And so far there's pending guys like Rodgers and Flacco.

4,000 yards in a 6-10 season, big deal. SCAM has had 3 losing seasons in 5 years including last year when he was 5-8-1 starting. He is a mediocre passer with incredibly bad mechanics, is not a student of the game and if you make him beat you from the pocket as the Broncos did he is a poor passer.

Teams will start run blitzing the he'll out of the option and limit his running plays leaving him with the sidearm windup that he employs that is no great shakes.

Your predictions are for ****. You should be glad I didn't bet you. Remember I nailed the 24-13 prediction while you stupidly trumpeted SCAM as a good passer, omg so.
