That is not how I remember it and I have been here since Day #1
Fire Cowher threads were aplenty.
Yes you have but I don't remember it and I read this board every day. Seemed like it was more Kordell sucks or he doesn't threads then any thing else

This is my point exactly if Cowher wAnted he would still be here. And we all know he had his up and downs and there wasn't the same accountability for EVERYTHING that I see now. Miss a tackle Cowher fault. Worm burner Cowher fault. Missed block Cowher fault. I didn't see this on this board. That's my point. Tomlin is not the end all and be all of coaching but neither was Bill. I don't remember 47 fire Cowher threads. I do remember a thousand Kordell sucks threads though
I think the perception was one coach most of the time overachieved
as this other one consistently underachieves.
Lol sure it is.

All kinds of comments along those lines, as SD says. Lots of bitching about turtle-ball, etc.

I should add that I do not believe it was near the criticism or detail of Tomlin, though.
No kidding. You also couldn't type "rumor" without it being censored. He had no cake walk through his career. If it wasn't his devotion to Kordell it was how he played too much "Marty-Ball" when he had the lead.
If Tomlin did not have a franchise QB then maybe he would not get as much heat but I think folks are seeing this window of opportunity closing and have a "what have you done for me lately" approach to the HC.

There was bitching about Cowher left and right back then. Andrew has no clue what he's talking about. Big surprise I know.

I got to agree with this 100%. I flew 7000 miles to watch my first game with some friends in Seattle. Was in the hawks nest waiting for the fg to come right at me and then that fake fg crap happens. It was unnecessary and totally changed the momentum of that game. The fans lifted and it became deafening in that stadium and the Seahawks wove that wave of noise to victory.Tomlin has done a fantastic job keeping this team together in the face of tremendous adversity; it is when he goes for a fake FG after a TV timeout that leads to a a INT and TD for the opposition that invites criticism because it is so unnecessary.
Cowher's shortfall was playing up to good competition in the playoffs. I don't ever remember him losing a game like last week to a team like that in that situation. And I would be fine with the trade off of big playoff wins against good teams if that was happening. When was the last time?
The best coaches have a command presence on the sideline and talk through the heads sets often.
Cowher used to have 1 on 1 coaching with his players, spit and all including with Ben.
Tomlin does not do this 1 on 1 sideline coaching often, nor does he talk much through the headset. He seems to delegate this to Haley or Butler.
I see little coaching. Who knows what he's talking about on the side line or in the locker room. All I know is we underachieve too often.
Is that 13 teams who ultimately finished the season under 500? Or under 500 at the time? Because I'm sure there are some 0-1 or 0-2 teams or something that are included there if it's the latter
Yes, but this doesn´t fit antdrewjosh´s agenda.......
And what exactly would be my agenda??
Somewhat. But this one focuses on the fact that he specifically consistently losses to bad teams; the other threads I read touched on it, but were more focused on him being sloppy in general, or that people gripe because they are racists. This thread covers that he ***** the bed all the time vs. the worst teams in the NFL.
What are you talking about? Cowher left to spend more time with his family. If he hadn't decided to leave odds are he'd still be coaching the Steelers today.
Why do you keep ducking the damn question? What do you hold the head coach accountable for? We're not talking about Cowher. He had his time, and it came to an end. The Steelers were right to move on from him when they did. THIS IS TOMLIN'S **** SHOW! So I ask again, what do you hold him accountable for? And please stay on topic instead of ranting about Cowher.
