No words.

He will look brilliant pulling him in the second half... plus Boykin is the secret weapon for the Pats in the playoffs... right?....

The Steelers consider Boykin as a slot CB only. He was never in consideration for a starting job as an outside CB. If Blake is benched, it would be Cockrell taking his place as a "starter".

Link, good sir???

Not the official link... but some quotes from his presser.

Regardless, Tomlin's basically going back to the same nickel package that got torched in the first half on Sunday.

I just do not get it at all.

Blake should not be one of the top 3 CBs.

It's smart coaching obviously, to rest Boykin for the last 2 games of the season, so he is fresh for the playoffs.

GENIUS!!!

One would think he'd be plenty rested, having not played the first two months of the season.

We'll see who gets the majority of snaps.. I'll be shocked if Blake gets more than Boykin.

I don't think he wants Blake to lose any remaining confidence he has left.. we unfortunately might need him in the playoffs if teams spread us out.

Bottom line, Boykin needs to be on the field with Cockrell and Gay.. and I expect this is what we'll see the rest of the year for the most part.

Exactly!!!

Can we start another Tomlin is great thread. REALLY. So now Blake plays ok (we hope) against **** QBS so it appears he is competent when he clearly is not. Tomlin is unreal.

See, THIS is the kind of crap that irritates the living crap out of most of us Tomlin "haters". He's proven he CAN do a great job, so why is he so damn stubborn with crap like this? There is ZERO reason, barring injury, for Blake to ever see the field again. Anybody with half a brain can see the defense plays MUCH better without him.

Nope, its because he's black and you're a disgusting racist. Must be!

Just not clear on the reasoning behind this.

There has to be something logical going on behind the scenes.

More Tomlin arrogance, even Jimmy Clausen will light up the POS Blake.

I gotta think it's an ego thing with Tomlin and/or Butler to keep playing Blake. They don't want to admit they were wrong. I don't think any sane person is going to blame them for starting Blake to begin with, but he's proven, quite a while ago, to be a glaring liability. Admit he's not the answer and move on, no harm, no foul. They did it with Scobee, Archer, and Jacoby Jones, why not with Blake?

Id imagine it has something to Boykin's snap count for the 4th/5th pick, I'm not sure what his percentage is at the moment if anyone else knows. But as long as Blake's pulled again by the start of the 2nd/3rd quarter I don't see him giving up that many points hopefully.

Let's take a step back...

Last week, there was a "report" that Buddy would "START" over Moats. That did not happen. Guess what - the LB's still did their jobs and we eventually won the game. This week, Blake has been "reported" as the "starter"---SO FRICKEN WHAT?!?!? He'll be rotated in and out just like last week and, "Bob's your uncle" - we'll win again, God-willing...

The knickers on some of you are just SOOOOO DARN TIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A comment from that link. I agree 100%. Tomlin serves ego before team success, and that hurts the team.

Ego first, team second. That's pretty much all you need to know about Mike Tomlin. He couldn't care less that Blake's stats show he's the second worst CB in the league. He couldn't care less that the team gave up 27 points in the first half until he finally ended his asinine "rotation" and pulled Blake. He couldn't care less that Blake has been pulled in 2 of the last 3 games. Mike Tomlin believes that he's bigger than the team and unfortunately the only people who can prove he isn't (the Rooneys) sit idly by.
