What was Tomlin thinking? 31 touches for your 32 year old RB in a blowout victory? Is he trying to run the wheels off Williams too? Beyond dumb

Was thinking the same thing. An injured Ben could have come out quicker too.

I have no problem with him being in there in the 3rd quarter. A fumble by the backup RB and then a score by Colts could have given them some momentum to turn that into a game. With all the comebacks from 14-17points down I've seen recently, I wouldn't take any chances.

Now in the 4th quarter, under 10 minutes.. I could see taking him out then.

he shouldn't have played the 4th. DeAngelo was a huge FA signing, kudos to those involved

There are plenty of things to question about Tomlin's decision-making. This board lives for them.

But I don't think letting a running back - who has shown fresh legs all season - touch the ball 30 times is one of them.

Tomlin has stated on several occasions with respect to RB's, when the running game is clicking he will "run the wheels off".
So there you have it. I for one liked the run game production vs the Colts, it was a good warm up for the Ben-gals game. The Steelers will need that kind of performance from Williams next week.

Williams doesn't have the wear of a normal 32 yr old running back..........hes got HALF the mileage one would expect for his age.........

Chill the **** out, enjoy the win and lets hope this engine continues next week vs the Prime Time ***** Cats.
Some of yall are just Bitching Addicts. Never happy unless its raining and if we cant have rain, yall will turn on the water hose and spray **** down

I agree, he had done his job game was getting out of reach we need him. ben should have been removed with ten minutes left in fourth as well.

You really cannot pull up until late in the 4th. Yes it would be nice to have a backup plan to dw... But we dont really and in this nfl a 3 or 4 score lead can be gone in a quarter if you let up

After last nights game, they will definitely need to keep using a back up to spell him throughout the game. We still have a long way to go, especially if we sneak in the playoffs. We need him fresh and healthy at that point too.

I agree. Mid way through the 4th I would have pulled all of our starters.

I don't miss Bell. That's how good Williams is playing right now. He adds speed, and better power running in my opinion. His numbers and statistics fact are better than Bell's with the same players and system.

Classic case of an idiot using statistics to prove his point is still an idiot.

Williams has been great replacing Bell in the short term....implying you would rather have Williams than Bell, is ******* idiotic

DW has been great, no doubt, but he is NOT Bell. Imagine Bell running routes like a WR. Bell is arguably the best RB in the game today. This team would be absolutely unstoppable with him in there and DW spelling him. We didn't really get to see the O all play together this year due to injuries.

I just hope we can keep the band together next season (meaning Ben, Bell, Williams, AB, Bryant, Wheaton) and have everyone stay relatively healthy (and not suspended).. We could set NFL records

*******.

I would've taken everyone out that I could've in the fourth quarter, especially Ben, Brown, Bryant, Williams, and any Olinemen as well, we've already lost our C and LT, no need losing anyone when we are up 4 scores in the 4th.

Welllllll...............according to Michaels last night "...one of the best 3 or 4 running backs in the NFL." Sometimes the idiocy becomes insufferable.

Exactly.

We have a couple inexperienced RBs, QBs that need game work....no reason to play entire 4th Q with first team.

Did Tomlin forget last year when we were eliminated in the first round? Its not all about miles, Bell is 23, he got hurt last year and it cost us a potential playoff run, Thats why Williams is here. The fact is behind Williams, we have ZERO depth at RB. Who the hell is Toussant? Do you really need the one and only nfl caliber back in the game carrying the ball with a double digit lead in the 4th quarter? Would it hurt to give your backups some garbage time touches?
